I've been inactive on the forum lately, and I am so late to see this thread. I feel terrible about it. HopefulSleep is one of the first users I remember seeing on the forum, and even if we barely talked, I've felt some sort of attachment. It hurts to see this thread, even if we weren't friends, it's like losing a friend. I hope he is okay wherever he is.

Yesterday at 8 pm they were alerted to a potential chemical hazard. They found a dead body but no signs of said chemical. No clues of a third party involvement were found.

I won't post the link cause they mention the streetname where it has happened.

Most people do mention that and say it's scary.

I doubt that in Germany a news outlet would mention a street name. Reports about suicides are extremely rare.

They also didn't say suicide directly and kept all personal details hidden.

As I'm German myself, I've also looked for reports and I think I found the same as you did. If it's the same one, then it has been updated today, because the one which I've read says now: "In einer Wohnung fanden die Einsatzkräfte eine tote Person, die offensichtlich Suizid begangen hatte." -> "in one of the apartments the police/firefighters found a dead person, who apparently committed suicide.".

And I completely agree @jonward55, this thread should be closed out of respect. I really hope that he found the peace and rest he was looking for, and that his pain is over now.

to clarify, as @Dot mentioned, it is normal for an account to be banned after posting a goodbye thread.

it prevents access to the account after the fact. on the other hand, banning honors the person by keeping their posts intact and protecting their privacy. if a member survives, they can post a ticket and have their account unbanned.

we come here and post because we feel safe and secure in this space. it's all some of us know as a place to vent. if someone on the outside looking in had access to our accounts after we've left, it would feel invasive.
