Have you ever tried to pass out with exit bag and inert gas? ( Obviously I mean, with somebody else present to remove the bag after fainting. Or holding the bag with your hands in front of your nose and mouth... ) What does it feel like?

So to hear that your travel plans were delayed. You're a good dude and I appreciate everything you've done here. If you are doing a stream with someone watching then perhaps you may want to have a hand raised some to show when you fall unconscious. Not sure on your plans though, but hopefully it's swift and peaceful. I'm reading the R2D site and it seems very peaceful.

I just ordered the new rebreather. no order confirmation from the initial site and you have to use a separate site for shipping info. nothing from there either. cost me about $300+ being in the U.S. I emailed the shipping site immediately after asking for information. after reading the other threads about the older models, this one sounds more promising as you can attach a canister of inert gas to the device, which fills the bag fully when taking your first breath. this will supposedly cause unconsciousness almost immediately. I also paid through PayPal so if anything is faulty there is purchase protection. will update once/if any sort of confirmation is received, as well as when/if the device arrives.

Yea finally got the nerve to open it today. Getting a seal is doable but you may need so tape to assure does not come off. I bought 2 cylinders hooked one up today sealed good when valve was closed. Thought about doing black out test but definitely would cause brain damage if you held it in place to long. I have a large bottle of nitrogen to use if the small canister does not do the trick. I have 8 days before I will use this. I definitely think it's better than sn especially for me I only have 1/2 my stomach.

That's true but I had to use to keep it on my head didn't touch mask. Just taped at top. If you have normal size head you will not need tape at all

Ok, I did the test last night, exhaled all in my lungs, hooked up to the mask took one giant deep breath. I immediately got very lightheaded and dizzy. I took another breath. Things got really fuzzy took a third breath and felt like I was going to pass out, so I dropped the mask.SI definitely kicked in. But I know I want two more breaths. I would've been unconscious. After dropping the mask, I sit there and breathe real fast. I had the worst headache I've ever had; about 10 minutes later, it was gone. I have to say yes, I think I would've died if I had kept it. I would've been unconscious. After dropping the mask, I sit there and breathe real fast. I had the worst headache I've ever had; about 10 minutes later, it was gone. I have to say yes, I think I would've died if I had kept breathing breathing. so I have to say this will be my way out next weekend.

How you achieved mask seal around face?
Do u have facial hairs?

No facial air; I just used the mask and headgear. During testing, I have just held the mask to my face so I would drop it. With one more breath, I knew I would have passed out. After taking the mask away, I started hyperventilating to get oxygen back. I had a horrible headache after a second breath. You will be able to get a seal for backup; you can use duct tape around your head. I doubt you will need it unless you have a giant head. What kills you is no oxygen; you just suficate.

it's considered medical equipment, it has a CO2 canister in it as well. should have no issues.

the straps have Velcro on the end. you won't be able to get the band around your head with that much facial hair, it will get caught in the Velcro as well as the mask itself.

I just got it down to a 5 o'clock shadow and it's fine. sometime during the day. have to make sure no one is around.

it says "respiro" on the box and inside it's a duffel bag filled with the equipment

I was able to find the numbers for the release valve. they're under the blue cap etched in on the sides of the plastic itself. it should come pre-set to 5, but if not you can screw/unscrew the blue piece until it reaches that number.
there are also neck and waist straps on the bag the rebreather comes in. I emailed the person who made the debreather and asked if you're supposed to put the device in the bag and attach it at the waist. he replied, which I'll leave below.
