• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Wonder if Teflon tape on the threads will help.

Edit. If you mix dish soap and water in a spray bottle and lightly spray areas you suspect of leaks, if there are any, bubbles will form.

tested two cartridges. nothing new to report. got a little dizzy but not enough to kill me. have one left and after this I'm giving up on the device altogether. it's been an expensive and disappointing endeavor.

I am deeply disappointed. I was hoping to buy one just to have it (for peace of mind), and put it aside until I need it when my condition deteriorates….

I think if you take short shallow breaths, the oxogen doesn't filter through the chemicals so your essentially breathing in carbon dioxide. The best place for this would be in and underwater environment so that you can't take it off after panicking. My dads friend had an accomplice who died like this. There's a certain book on diving that has that part of the incident explained in more detail, I might link? Anyways, seems like a painless way to CTB. Essential you get dizzy and pass out and drown without the pain of knowing it.

A traditional rebreather requires soda lime and is designed to keep you alive. The R2D ("Right to Die") Rebreather lll uses inert gas (such as nitrogen) and is designed to kill you.

I have only tried the ReBreather III one time, and had the same experience of the bag deflating. I don't think this product works.

I am going to have to figure out how to go the Nitrogen tank, bag route. Since I don't live alone, I won't be able to test out the setup with a dummy head, or test oxygen levels.

When I get a free day, I will dash over and pick up a Nitrogen tank and then get a hotel room and attempt to CTB there. I won't know if the room will have a chair. It may only have a bed....so I don't know if I will be able to sit in a reclining position as recommended.

I am still trying to figure out how to bring the tank into a hotel lobby without attracting attention. Will it fit in a large wheeled luggage bag? How heavy will the tank be? Will I be able to manage to carry/wheel it in by myself?

I don't have strong hands, so hopefully attaching the regulator to the tank doesn't require much brute strength. I will bring a wrench, but still - I am not a super string person.

Any hints/tips/ideas?

you need a tank that is at least 40 cubic feet. it probably weighs around 70-80 pounds. buying the tank and measuring it would be a good idea before getting a bag to conceal it since bags will come in different sizes. you will be able to carry it by yourself but it may take you putting the bag down and lifting it up a few times.

I have posted every response he's given me in the thread. the last one he sent to me was something along the lines of "if you try my recommendations and I don't hear from you, I'll assume the device worked." he's very clearly tired of having me reach out to him.

I encourage you to write him again. I'm sure as a businessman he'd much rather hear from you again and continue to try to fix the problem than have the SanSui community convinced his product does not work and is a ripoff or scam. He's put a lot of time, money and effort into his business (product design and redesign, parts supply chain, website, warehousing, various contracts, etc), and he wants profits, not complaints. He wants a good reputation that drives sales and makes him money. A bad reputation kills sales and will kill his business. Give him another chance to make it right.

Maybe send him a video of you demonstrating how you used it? (You do not have to video your face.)

I have nothing else to say at this point. it's been a month and a half. gone through seven nitrogen tanks. paid for the device and shipping. it's cost me over $500. with him constantly adding steps to the instructions such as attaching another canister once the bag is filled, more development and research should have gone into the device. we are not Guinea pigs. we're people struggling financially, emotionally, and at the end of our ropes. when something doesn't work that you buy at Walmart, what do you do? return it. sure, this is a more delicate matter, but the rebreather has gone through three separate releases and there have been complaints that not a single variant has worked. it's predatory and taking advantage of a population that doesn't deserve to suffer anymore. I'm not going to keep corresponding with someone who is offering suggestions rather than solutions.

@jacrispy All good points. I guess I'll stop recommending people look into it. I guess I'll have to figure out something else for myself too. (alcohol poisoning?) But I probably have a year or two before needing to CTB. Maybe Sarco pod then? (Costs? Waiting line?)

Pity. The R2D ReBreather lll is such a good concept for nitrogen gas asphyxiation at home (or most anywhere). Painless, quick, not gory, not scary yet effective — it's pretty much ideal … if only it worked.

I wonder what people are saying about it in the EXIT forum. Anyone know?

ETA: I feel sorry for you to have gotten yourself into the CTB state of mind and attempted more than once with only for it to fail. I can understand why you are through with it.

Sorry, Jacrispy. This is really disheartening. I still haven't bothered even getting more cartridges after hearing about these other issues with the reservoir bag etc.

it's not just me who's had the issues, there was another user @BlueMouse who tried to CTB in a hotel room with the rebreather and failed to do so. if we both followed instructions and had the same thing happen it's an issue with the device rather than one with the user. it's just sad putting months of research and effort into something for it to not work. I'm not only out of money but also time and effort. when getting out of bed and performing daily tasks like eating, showering, brushing your teeth is daunting, having to fail to end your life when a product was claimed to be effective is absolutely soul crushing. everyone on this forum is here for the same end goal. my struggles are no more important or significant than anyone else's by any means. I was looking to help people and even failed at that, which only makes me feel worse.

I'm in my 20s. don't have access to the EXIT forum so can't comment on that aspect of things. Richard has been doing this for decades. imagine how much worse this could've been had the device only partially worked and someone ended up with brain damage or a vegetable. money, time, effort, research, all went to waste.

Please do not blame yourself, It's not your fault you keep on getting insufficient responses from Richard.
By sharing your real life experiences you most certainly are helping other people.
I for one, thought when i first learned about the rebreather that this seemed a simple and relatively cheap device, now not so much.
( inspired by @GasMonkey i am going the EEBD mask route ).

I asked about testing the device and making sure it doesn't have any leaks prior to using it to ctb. The instructions are beyond vague at this point and really need to be rewritten and included more visuals.
This is so f**king complicated I have a headache. I wanted something easy to understand b/c gasmonkey was waaaay over this damaged brain. Jesus. Why does everyone assume all people who want to CRB r well mentally capable people who can comprehend complicated instructions.

IIRC there was a link on the R2D Rebreather lll website. I think Amazon also carried them.

I agree.

The device and its instructions must be extremely simple. People with mild or moderate Alzheimer's might want to exit before it's gets severe and they can't exit by themselves.

AMEN! People don't get there r neurodivergent people or people w/dementia, brain injuries or people like me with damage from a car accident and from medications. I was taught in school to write directions for the person in the room least likely to understand then that person and everyone else can understand. Best to be too easy than too hard.

I think the flaw in the debreather approach, and the reason you don't lose consciousness within a few breaths with a debreather, may relate to the fact that there is about 1 litre of oxygen stored in the red blood cells in the bloodstream. Plus there is another litre of residual oxygen in the lungs, even when you fully exhale. So the body normally has 2 litres of oxygen stored. Given you only use about a quarter litre of oxygen per minute, that two litres will keep you going for a few minutes, even when you oxygen supply is cut off.

When you use the inert gas method, that stored oxygen I think may be passed out of the lungs, and is then expelled from the exit bag placed over your head. This may be why you lose consciousness within a few breaths with the inert gas method.

But with the debreather method, if the stored oxygen is passed out of the lungs, it will go into the debreather's air bag, and then get breathed in again. So therefore it takes longer to reach unconsciousness with the debreather, as the oxygen gets recycled, and it will take a few minutes to use up this stored oxygen. More info in this post.

I had purchased the previous 2 versions of this , in summary was a complete waste of money , I have no doubt the inventors intentions are sincere and honest , but they were proven not to work . I would urge a wait and see approach on purchase of this myself
update 10/2024: to this date,i don't know anyone who bought version 1 or 2 that received a requested refund or an upgrade to version 3.
Very upsetting. I wonder if these guys actually care to make sure their device works or if they're just trying to make a quick buck off vulnerable suicidal people. Really stooping to the lowest of the low if it's the latter. You should be refunded/sent a replacement
RA never refunded or upgraded anyone I know (several friends bought version 2). He didn't care at all.
Has anyone ever received a refund for any debreathers? i call FULL SCAM. so sad for everyone.

to be honest I only had a few email conversations with him and bought both products, I do genuinely think it was not a scam , the product design was simply not effective, if you take the price I paid , I can't remember maybe 250 us, he had money in that getting manufactured and shipped from china , as well as research and design costs and mailing costs , I never really felt scammed just disappointed , all sounded so cheap and easy at the time , a revolution...but not lol. both units skipped a long time ago now

He shouldn't have sold them if he wasn't certain. Sure, I can throw away $300 (or more w/shipping) but for lots of elders and disabled people or folks who lsot jobs during the pandemic, that was an expensive bummer.

Directions on how to use the machine. This guy bought the R2 and it would never work so he'd email the designer and he send him even more directions. Usually that you had to buy more tanks.
