An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
you're going to need to shave it, there's no way around it. the beard hair will prevent the straps from completely touching your face and will also interfere with the tightening of the mask. if you've got a beard that's more than stubble the chances of failure are going to be much higher.
it's going to need to come off. the hair on your chin is going to get in the way of the seal of the mask. the hair on the sides is also going to prevent the straps from achieving maximum tightness. I cannot stress this enough. you will not be able to properly use the device if you have a beard like this.

I'll sacrifice my beard for the ability to ctb. It wouldn't be the first time I shaved it off this year, but it would be the last. My beard is patchy but full and rather bushy.
I thought this device would be a simple foolproof solution, but i have second thoughts.
For instance: i'm in the EU so the nitrogen canister that is advised is not for sale here.
( Leland 18 g nitrogen cartridges 5/8" threaded $40 on Amazon )
IMPORTANT: The mini-regulator accepts only 5/8" threaded cartridges!
We recommend the Leland 18 g Nitrogen Cartridge, if available.
Smaller capacity unthreaded cartridges may be used with the N20 Adapter.
If using small-capacity unthreaded cartridges, remember that you will need
to use the first cartridge to inflate the Reservoir Bag. The second cartridge
will ensure complete inflation of the Reservoir Bag while also flushing the
ReBreather of any residual oxygen.
The third and final cartridge is to be connected just before removing the Black Sealing Cap and attaching your
Face Mask to the Breathing Tube Assembly.
Decided to ask if they could clarify anything. I think this is covered in the video guide on how to use it, but I still feel better that they responded.
I think the idea with the 'blackout test' is you sit upright and just hold the mask onto your face and see if you pass out. You wouldn't strap it on, so it would fall off if you passed out. Guess this would mean sacrificing a nitrogen canister.
So you re-breath what you exhale (which mixes with the rest of the inert gas), interesting. So they have calculated it in a way that the CO₂ concentration should never go over 1000ppm (when it starts to be uncomfortable).
I dont have the setup yet. I was planning for it then i found about rebreather which i think was more handy to store and use. So i was switching from eebd setup to rebreather

you should absolutely listen to @GasMonkey rather than me about setups and what works best. they are a mastermind when it comes to this type of thing and I don't want it to seem like they're being discredited at all. I'm simply sharing my experience/insight with the rebreather since no one else has received theirs. if keeping your facial hair is important to you then the rebreather is not going to work properly since the airtight seal won't be achieved and you need to breathe the nitrogen or other inert gas for 5-6 minutes in order to pass away
yes, that is the correct link and if you are having trouble finding it it's been posted multiple times in this thread as well as a few others. just type "rebreather" in the search bar and you will find it.
you're not seeing it because the device wasn't available at that point in time and there has been an update to the PPEH that was published in June of this year.
if anyone has any further questions please make sure they are posted by the end of the day. I'm preparing to use the device sometime this week and will be unavailable for anything further. posting a goodbye thread will take away from the information I've spent hours posting and collecting and it would be better to keep it all in one place.

Read the instructions on the website. You put the mask on, you empty you lungs and do NOT breath in again until AFTER attaching the rebreather full of pure nitrogen. The only oxygen available for making CO2 will be the small amount remaining in your lungs after exhalation.

Sorry to hear you're leaving so soon but as long as it's what you want I hope it all goes to plan. If you don't post by the beginning of next week, should we assume you were successful? Sorry life has brought you to this point.

there were a few people in here asking about doing a video call of sorts to make sure everything goes according to plan. still waiting to see if anyone is interested

Depending on the time I could probably do it. Watching someone die isn't exactly something I enjoy doing, but if you want moral support or just someone to confirm your passing I'll do my best.

it's a tough ask, it would be good to have some sort of video evidence etc just to show the site. hadn't crossed my mind til someone brought it up.
mine shipped on a Wednesday and I got it on a Tuesday. would have been Monday but the site got my city wrong for the address, so it had to be picked up at DHL.
The only person I've ever watched die was my grandfather. He was in hospice and passed while surrounded by family. When he went everyone was in shock and immediately looked to me to check him. I didn't know what to do so I grabbed a butter knife on the table next to me to see if it fogged under his nose.
Seeing someone die isn't easy but there will be a lot of curious parties. I don't exactly know how to record video calls though.
that's correct. you'll fill the bag with gas and then exhale all the air from your lungs. once you put on the mask it will be nothing but the gas and you'll pass in 5 to 6 minutes

that's devastating, I'm sorry to hear that you had to witness something so horrible. losing family is the worst thing to go through. death is a delicate matter. again, not trying to persuade you into it but it may be beneficial to have others see what the process is like. recording would be easy with a third party app
