Listened to Schopenhauer "Studies in pessimism" last night, and wish someone would write Studies in optimism too and would do it in as satisfying, thoughtful (and not cheesy) way as Schopenhauer' did. :D That was some real dedication to pessimism. :D I could say Maurice Maeterlinck "Wisdom and Destiny" offers something opposite, really good book for the soul, so I recommend the latter more than Studies in pessimism to anyone who struggles with depression, but I personally will listen to Schopenhauer again because it was relaxing to feel like shit and listen to philosopher who 'gets' it :D:D Nice time.

I had a bit of a drunk (and embarrassing) fling with someone recently and now I feel lonelier than ever. I feel like stuff like that gives me a tiny little bit of joy in that moment, but makes me feel extremely shitty afterwards, whereas staying in my room all day is boring, but I also rarely feel any particular lows.

Part of why I don't post in the game threads is because they give me anxiety. There's really steep expectations of its social system that exists like a metronome and visual balance and I can see all its parts functioning without me. It reminds me a lot of how I feel when I do go out with a friend or two to meet up with a larger group and then at some point it's like too much has been lost there's no point in being here anymore goodbye. The worst was when I was a kid before just totally avoiding other people, I would be hanging out with a group of friends who I knew really well and we all got along together too but one time it just started. It felt like cutting in and out of not knowing them and feeling uncomfortable.
