I understand this is largely me being very lazy in regards to researching it for myself. However, I have been in the psych ward for the past 6 weeks and it has drained me of all energy and brainpower. This post is inspired by the issues that Zanexx faced (I'm not sure if I should be mentioning them by name, or if it's what they would want).

But to put it simply, I am looking for an easy to follow shopping list and step-by-step instructions on how to execute the CO method in a tent. I am from the UK so if anyone has shops, and item links within the country that would be really helpful. I am also concerned of the location that I could do it - I would prefer to do it in a place that is legal, as to not arouse any suspicion or unnecessary attention, but also somewhere that would be empty with no one around.

It seems the tent design is important and the right places need to be sealed, the charcoal is brought inside once there is no more glowing. If anyone can provide more detail on all of the considerations that would be greatly appreciated too.

I'm in the uk too. Going this way. Someone mentioned to me that B&q will soon have a sale on charcoal starters and bits. Someone else advised me to order yellow gas tape online for sealing the tent. I never heard of yellow gas tape but bought some on ebay. I am using a regatta malawi tent. It's the one that lady used.
Yes I also need informatioon on where to tape it.
Someone told me too to make sure the charcoal burns for around 2 hours and combusts, bring into the tent when the ashes are grey, yet some may still be slightly glowing.
There shouldn't be much if any smoke. Wait for them to cool before bringing into tent and using a heat mat is a good idea or a tray of water beneath the charcoal starter.

Thats all the advice I can remember given to me but i should also take notes and keep revising over it so i can think and act quickly on the day

That's awesome, thanks for that. I will keep an eye out on B&Q to source the charcoal stuff and look into yellow gas tape for sealing gaps. It seems regatta malawi should be a safe choice then, if it's been successful in the past. I will buy one of them.

I'm following in Zanexx's footsteps as well. She did it in a secluded area out in the woods. It was days before they even found her. Any place where you won't be found for at least 6 hours is good. The longer the better, though. Ideally, you should be dead in two hours, but don't count on that, just in case the ppm is lower than expected. The smaller the tent the better. Supposedly, it needs to be single layered and water proof, to better contain the gas, so that it doesn't escape. And you need to put tape over the seams to seal them. My tent is single layered, but I have yet to check if it is waterproof. Either way, it will not matter. I am going to tape garbage bags directly all over the outside of the tent in order to seal the entire thing, in addition to placing a tarp over it. No gas will escape. It is also going to be placed inside of a shed. Then, all you do is simply burn the charcoals in a chimney starter (so that they burn evenly) and wait around 60-90 minutes until they turn grey and stop creating smoke. Once burned down, they need to be dumped in a steal bucket, which is then placed either in another bucket or bowl with water to catch downward heat. Then, simply take inside of sealed tent and go to sleep.

Charcoal can be bought at the grocery store. The chimney starter can be found at places like Home Depot.

Thanks for the info. Your plan sounds solid, like there is no way it can fail.

As far as I know, they did it on a campsite where there were people relatively closeby, maybe I'm mistaken. Here in the UK you can only camp legally in certain areas, so either I go to one of those sites, or somewhere completely obscure where no one will interfere. I'm kinda at a loss of where to go to do it, even though this should probably be the least difficult aspect. I preferably don't want it to be too long before I'm found. If anyone can shed some light on this or PM location ideas that would be useful.

From briefly reading around I have heard that the brand of briquettes makes a difference, or only a certain type should be used. Is this not the case?

Some people do seem to believe that the brand of charcoal makes a difference, but it should not. There are different types of charcoal. Reguar briquettes should be used. But generally speaking, charcoal is charcoal. It is made of carbon and when burned will release CO for many hours.

I don't recall. You could go with one inside the other, though. Any way of sealing it better is good. That's why I'm using trash bags. Impossible for that gas to escape. This will be literally impossible to survive. And all I have to do is go to sleep. I cannot fucking wait.

For anyone coming here with similar questions or concerns, here's some links to read to help out.

https://8ch.net/suicide/res/36746.html#36746

From what I gather buying the following should be enough:

Tent
https://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/regatta-malawi-2-pop-up-tent-D1312437.html?colour=108

Charcoal Briquettes
https://www.diy.com/departments/weber-briquettes-4kg/1724545_BQ.prd

Chimney Starter

Steel Bucket
https://www.diy.com/departments/active-steel-14000-ml-bucket/35494_BQ.prd

Misc
A long barbecue lighter, newspaper to help light the charcoal, some duct tape to seal up openings, bricks to lay under the bucket for insulation.

Now I just need a location.

Sounds good dude. I'd say just go in the woods somewhere.

Whether it's legal grounds or not....no one is going to disturb your tent until it's been there for long enough that people notice there hasn't been anyone.

When are you planning to ctb?

It's hard to say really, no date planned and not setting a deadline or anything like that. Really it's just when the inspiration/ desperation strikes which I can't tell when that will be. I was planning on going by partial hanging in june - had a panic attack and backed out. Jumping in august - was reported missing and quickly found by police. So now I'm thinking this will be the method that can't fail as long as I don't make anyone suspicious before I do it.

How about you?

@bbq1 I just got my chimney starter. The fucking thing is so big I should be able to fit at least 5 lbs of charcoal inside. And it's going in a two person tent. There ain't no way in hell I'm waking up :)

I'd go kingsford. I've seen a test here and on 8ch using royal oak and the dam things vapourised after about 50 minutes and vanished to dust.

Sorry to bump the thread, and rest in peace bbq1. I visited B&Q (UK Home Depot) and three outdoorsy shops. I could not find what I needed. I have however now ordered the regatta malawi 2 tent to collect from a nearby city tomorrow.

However the charcoal briquettes are still confusing me. Are there are brands I should be going for? The ones I saw were advertised as low CO, fast burning, more heat. I'm pretty sure these are the exact opposite of what I want.

Could not see anything to do with Royals Oak or Kingswood, so I am assuming these are not for sale within the UK? I was looking for Weber briquettes but could not find any.

What weight of charcoal would I be looking at for a Malawi 2 tent?

I'm going with Kingsford charcoal. Only 2 lbs is more than enough, but my chimney starter should be able to fit like at least 5 :D which is way way way more than enough lmao

NIce. I couldn't find Kingsford whilst out looking in the shops today. It seems I will be going with weber:
, both for the charcoal briquettes as well as the chimney starter. Pick up my Regatta Malawi 2 tent tomorrow :D
I'll be going with these since I can't find the two reputable manufacturers anywhere

Personally i would be sure to take some sleeping aids/benzos as well.

Bottle of scotch should do the trick :D
This might seem a not very serious point but i have put some thought into it, re bottle of scotch. Bearing in mind the amount of involved thought that goes into this method, any method for that. My experience is that lots of drink can wake me up from the most profound deep sleep for a piss. Personally, if i were going to do this i would want to minimize the alcohol to a few glasses and maximize the benzos. Just a thought.

Sounds good, I plan a very small opiate/cider dose just to calm any physical anxiety.
