The SN finally came today. I'm just still debating with myself to tell someone that I did care about goodbye tonight or to just leave without saying anything. Only one person deserves my explanation but it's also like, they will move on anyway.

What do you guys think? Would you say goodbye to other people or just CTB without a trail?

i plan on having a good last conversation with people i care about but not making a super apparent goodbye, just ending the day with an "i love you, you're a good friend/family member/person". then i plan on leaving notes if they so choose to read them

They will betray you out of love. Write letter? Gmail can send delayed letters? But might detect keywords? I said my thanks & my wish to die long ago. But they abandonned me anyway

I'm sorry that they've abandoned you. Why do you think that they did that?

Because i freaked out and they ran away... As usual... People promise the moon but then they throw rocks. They take my distress personnal. Even health care don't want to talk to someone panicking & crying without being drugged into a zero emotion zombie. Urge to die. Got so much mental violence & rejection today. Even people who suffer can't stand me... Im a piece of shit

I will write a letter for my mother and family so that they won't blame themselves. Thought about writing a letter or sending something to my first love but it doesn't matter anymore as I realized she would move on anyway

Same, wanted to reach out to a lost love but I realized it would just be pointless and they probably wouldn't even read what I wrote anyways. I'd wanted to hear their voice before I died but I can't risk the call being tracked and the cops finding me. They likely wouldn't even answer the phone anyways. Oh well.

Personally, I wouldn't want to tell anyone beforehand. I would worry that they would either inform authorities to try and intervene- or- if they respected your wishes, they might feel guilty for not intervening.

I would definitely leave messages but I've heard troubling things about notes being confiscated as 'evidence' by the police and not being released to loved ones.

I would likely send delayed emails with the notes added as attachments because I've also read that email servers scan emails for keywords. (Thanks to whoever suggested that in a previous thread.)

I think i will write short letters to my family members thanking them for everything and wishing them well. I might also explain my reasons, but make it clear that they are not at fault for my decision.

I guess it depends on the state of your relationship with whom you want to say your goodbyes. I won't do it, I'd rather have everyone act shocked after finding out. Not that it matters anyways if I'm dead.

Me personally, I would just do it without a goodbye. I don't think a goodbye would make the things better. They just should move on.

I think that personally writing a note would be the best way to say farewell. Telling others in advance about plans to ctb would be a terrible idea in my opinion, as in this world there are so many people who don't respect the right to die and others could potentially interfere with our plans and make it more difficult for us to leave this world. Suicide really shouldn't be so stigmatised and we should be able to be open about our wish to die without the risk of others interfering, and we should be able to have our wishes respected by others but that unfortunately is not the reality.

If you say goodbye to other people, it's like saying hello to the psychiatric ward. Enjoy your stay! :pfff:
You could send delayed emals or leave a note for those who discover you. You could also let them know you are struggling, but without mentioning CTB.

I just want to CTB with no trail, it doesn't matter to me to say anything to anyone. I can't even think of the right words, and it doesn't even matter anyway. If I were to do anything it would be to leave a small note, but telling someone goodbye prior to CTB is just a way to either have your attempt interrupted or for you to get thrown in a psych ward.

I'm not good at holding conversations or heart-to-hearts anymore. I'd like to just die and be quickly forgotten. While it would be nice to have some profound or wise words exchanged before parting, that part of my brain is fried.
So maybe a hug to my sweetheart before he heads to work, just one long hug. And then I'd get on with it.
As the person above me said, it's too obvious to say goodbye. That's how your plans get ruined.

No, not for me. I have no one to say good bye anyway. I will leave a note beside me to police, state this is a planing suicide and there is no need to to do any further investigation.

That's not enough. Justify your choice so that they are convinced that it is a rational suicide and an autonomous decision. Under the right to life (article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights), they have to investigate a suicide if they suspect that your action was not taken in free will. Under the respect for private life (article 8), they have to leave you alone, if you can prove that your decision was rational and not a breach of your right to life.
The easier way to justify a suicide is to say that you subscribe to "promortalism", an anti-life philosophy that assigns positive value to death:
"Life is an unprofitable episode disturbing the blessed calm of non-existence" -Arthur Schopenhauer
"Death is not an evil, because it frees us from all evils, and while it takes away good things, it takes away also the desire for them". -Giacomo Leopardi
You can read the relevant Human Rights legislation here applicable in most Western countries, and especially in Europe.

Police has been very helpful to me as my previous experience. I don't think they actually would care so much. It would be really irony if they do a big investigation after I dead. But I don't actually care really. If I dead there is nothing I can do, the police can do what ever they want.

In my home country, this does not happen, unless they literally see you commit the act in public. We do not have a suicide prevention mentality. If I lived in the UK, USA or Canada, I would jump straight to the next high speed rail without telling anyone.

The onus is on you to prove that your suicide is rational, not on the authorities. Otherwise, they will assume you were a "vulnerable" person and will investigate your belongings and PC to find why you did it.
