I found this to be a very interesting video, as much as I'm skeptical of at least some of Joiner's theory of suicide as the confluence of Perceived Burdensomeness/Fearlessness/Thwarted Belongingness. Also interesting how suicide rates in the USA are increasing while those in most other countries are apparently declining. But even the USA experienced a DROP in reported suicides in 2020, pandemic and all.
He should be somewhat familiar to forum members because his older video has been posted and discussed here in multiple threads. I have just watched this new one, and it seems to me that the biggest difference is his hairstyle. He still gets same things right and same things wrong.
Any suicide model that does not include pain and suffering can not be good. Someone posted a scientific paper with better model on this forum, but it was about a year ago and I can't find it now.
His analyisis of graphs is shallow an mostly hit-and-miss. His analyisis of photograps is almost on tabloid journalism level.
