• UK users: Due to a formal investigation into this site by Ofcom under the UK Online Safety Act 2023, we strongly recommend using a trusted, no-logs VPN. This will help protect your privacy, bypass censorship, and maintain secure access to the site. Read the full VPN guide here.

  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

🔐 Notice for UK-Based Users (Updated April 2025)

Due to recent actions by UK regulators, including a formal investigation into this site under the Online Safety Act 2023, we strongly advise UK users to take proactive steps to protect your privacy and access.

While we are a U.S.-based platform operating entirely under U.S. law, UK authorities are attempting to apply their regulations across borders. This may lead to:
  • Increased blocking or throttling by UK internet service providers (ISPs)
  • Surveillance or logging of connections to certain sites
  • Pressure on third parties (VPNs, DNS providers, CDNs) to comply with UK censorship

✅ Using a VPN Is More Important Than Ever

If you're located in the UK, we highly recommend the use of a trusted, no-logs VPN with obfuscation features to prevent DPI (deep packet inspection) from flagging your connection. This ensures:
  • Your ISP cannot see which websites you visit
  • You bypass censorship or site-level blocking
  • Your activity remains private and untraceable

🛡️ Recommended VPNs (2025)

For UK users, prioritize VPNs that:
  • Have a strong no-logs policy (audited if possible)
  • Accept cryptocurrency or anonymous payment methods
  • Offer obfuscated or stealth protocols (e.g., OpenVPN TCP, WireGuard + obfsproxy)
  • Are headquartered outside the UK and EU

1. Mullvad VPN – Court-Proven No-Logs
🌐 https://mullvad.net

2. ProtonVPN – Free Plan, Swiss-Based
  • From the creators of ProtonMail
  • No logs, based in Switzerland
  • Free version with no ads or throttling
  • Apps are open source and audited
🌐 https://protonvpn.com

3. IVPN – Transparent and Ethical
  • No names, emails, or logs
  • Audited and based in Gibraltar
  • Focus on transparency and ethical privacy
  • Highly respected by privacy experts
🌐 https://www.ivpn.net

⚠️ A Note on Tor:
Tor can be useful in certain privacy scenarios, but it's not foolproof. Exit nodes are public and may be operated by malicious actors, especially when accessing clearnet (non-.onion) sites. For the most secure and private connection to this site, we recommend using a trusted, no-logs VPN with obfuscation.

We will continue to monitor the situation. You are responsible for protecting your own privacy. Use the tools available to you — stay safe, stay secure, and stay informed.

I will add don't rely on Tor browser alone either. Authorities know ways to get past it.

The annoying thing g about mist VPNs is that many sites notice I'm using them and you frequently get the "prove you're human" tests. Would love to be able to bypass those somehow.

Thank you for putting this together, loosing access to this site at this stage would not be ideal (I would do something precipitous) and this is important enough to be careful and use the support here.

It's already saved me a very painful experience that is not certain to do the job.

The British government has almost reached its goal of becoming the Chinese government.
France is also launching an investigation following a suicide and is trying to unmask SaSu members and ban access to SaSu. Shame on the pro-lifers!

For Tor, it seemed like you had a .onion address. We should also talk about the risks of NordVPN, Cyberghost, etc., as there are many users of these VPNs.

I personally use AirVPN, due to it still allowing port forwarding (good for torrenting).
The British government has almost reached its goal of becoming the Chinese government.
It already has. Did you know the UK has more surveillance cameras per person than China? More fucking cameras than China.

If you're using proton vpn, USE STEALTH PROTOCOL. Also enable always on vpn and enable the killswitch.
I recommend mullvad though

Honestly, if you live in a country that has such censorship, Tor Browser might actually be more secure in some ways. VPNs only mask your IP address. Here are some for the things that are still exposed:
  • Operating system language settings.
  • Keyboard layout & timezone.
  • Plugins installed.
  • Hardware specifications.
Tor Browser by default uses it own unique settings making it harder to track the individual. Now of course, nothing is foolproof. I'm sure they could find an exploit if they really thought you did something so terrible, but I don't think that'll be an issue for most people here.

Though, I guess Tor Browser or VPN are both good options for most people.
