There's no afterlife. Just Nothingness. I'm pretty sure.

Have anyone ever watched Evangelion? I think it's probably like Instrumentality. All returns to nothing.
That said, reincarnation may be a thing. As I once visited a woman who pretty much got all of my life right without me saying a single word and she said that I had reincarnated a couple of times.

I prefer not to make assumptions based on the religious beliefs I know, as their concepts of heaven, hell and life after death have been constantly mutating.

Regardless of what I would like, I think the question relies on an invalid assumption. We don't go anywhere because there is nowhere for us to go to.

I've been a lot more interested in this now that going to ctb. I've always believed it's just darkness.

From what I've read, suicides roam as ghosts for the time they were meant to live on this world. Or I've also read those who commit suicide are turned upside down in the afterlife. Just F-in great, who knows what kind of hell is there after. Can't catch a break.

That reminds me of a horror story called "Feed the pig", it basically exposes that God and Lucifer got tired of discussing what to do with suicides and a second purgatory was created, it can be worse than earthly life, but it is better than hell.

I believe you are somewhat right, my friend. That we are more than flesh and bones. I also believe that we must endure hardships to evolve. I am not sure, however, if I believe we have to start all over again if we chose to end this process. I believe life has many ways; as well as our spiritual evolution. I have had these thoughts, that perhaps, to greet death - to face the unknown fully, could be part of the process as well. It takes great courage to die I believe, it's not 'the easy way out'. It takes determination and courage facing the unknown in a way that is unparallelled in our lives. To leave everything known behind. But then again, these are just some thoughts, and I would never suggest that others would do it for this reason, although I am pro-choice and believe that people have the right to catch the train if they so choose, to end a miserable existence. Anything else would for me seem inhumane.

But why do I feel the urge to do it? Why do I so strongly feel it as a solution? I didn't use to, I never was one for suicidal idealization. Life has propelled me in this direction, not me. Uncertainty, though, waver like a storm in the ocean. It bothers me, that we never can be sure of what is the right thing to do. It could be a temptation, a longing that must be postponed and overcome. But what if it is the spirit's longing for home? For peace that can never be found here. What if it is the way? It might sound counter-intuitive, we have all been taught that we should continue living, but really, for whatever cost? Maybe the Dawn will greet us as a long-begotten friend on the other side; that clinging unto the known life regardless of the cost is just unecessary postponement of the inevitable?

I wish I could answer your questions. But I am Just returning to Spirituality after décades away. You may be missing other worlds.
The spiritualists claim that Earth is a atonement planet. We all are here to improve. The law of Universe is love, not hate. We still got a long way to Go...
But, Earth should change soon (to a regenaration place) by the end of this century. We will not live to see, but maybe we will be born again in this better Earth...
What people hier call Survival Instinct is a personal mentor or Guardian angel who take cares of you.
If you hate you attract and feed low spirits around you.
If you love and help, you get surrounded by higher spirits.
If you are mental sick, ask for help, for the higher dead and the living. And try to love more. It is always a great medicine.

The spiritualists claim that Earth is a atonement planet. We all are here to improve. The law of Universe is love, not hate. We still got a long way to Go...
But, Earth should change soon (to a regenaration place) by the end of this century. We will not live to see, but maybe we will be born again in this better Earth...

I also believe in improving ourselves, and that love certainly is the answer and can change many a great thing. While we are here, I cannot see what is more worthwhile than extending love to those we can. It surely is a great medicine. For what comes after, I think it requires faith to believe in one thing or another, for me - I chose to believe in something good and I see good reasons to do so.

Yep. While it would be cool to imagine an afterlife, or a reincarnated life, in my mind it is better to accept actual reality than pretend a fantasy is real. Sooner or later all of us will be done, fini, that's all folks.
