What do you think, are we born again after death? Some say for suicide you will get into hell, is this true? Or at least things don't get better, you will keep your problems although you are dead. I want to do suicide in order my problems are away. I don't want to worsen the situation.

I very strongly believe that we just cease existing after this, we are completely unaware of everything for all eternity, there is simply nothing. Such a thing is the only relief to me as non-existence is the absence of all suffering.

My brother said this about it... "It's not even darkness as you can't process the color black"
lack of consciousness is impossible to comprehend as it's the complete opposite of everything we know..

we all go to this big bouncy castle and are like kids jumping around in there without a care just playing with eachother

or maybe it's eternal damnation.. what if it's something inbetween?

I like to imagine afterlife as some good place like shire from LOTR. I also like idea of long journy to the source, something like in this video I listen while sleeping - long journey imagine die and then go slowly along this long way where you can meet other souls and talk to each other about their story etc :D it does sound somehow calming to me

It's not "nothing", just read NDE's at nderf.org.
But it's not a permanent state either.
It's a "gap" state or bardo or transitory state, until the next rebirth/reincarnation takes place.

The information is out there but hard to believe if we think "materiality" is all there is.

Usually either meditation or psychedelics will change people's perception about it, except maybe having an NDE
themselves and surviving.

Cut off different parts of your brain one by one and watch as you slowly lose the properties and perception of your person and the entire perceived world. A little hypoxia or lobotomy and you become something like a conscious vegetable. And that's just brain damage. So how would complete brain deprivation make things better? You might as well completely burn a broken-down car from a junkyard and expect to make that car miraculously renewed, with a full tank of gas, a shiny paint job and an improved working engine.

There is no death for consciousness. Between now and death, there is a mid point. From that mid point, there is yet another mid point, and so on. There are infinitely many mid points. Zeno's paradox. When it reaches quantum scale, everything becomes blurred, like this world is fading out. It becomes a tunnel for consciousness to reemerge in a different world. The prisoner has finally escaped. Other people looking from outside, it's the death of the body.

What are you trying to get at here? You think the afterlife will suck or that it's just completely impossible?
I think the whole going to heaven or hell thing, still with your own body.. yeah I don't know.

Near-death experiences are well-documented and are the product of significant brain activity. There's no biblical or mythological truth to it. People hallucinate before they die and that's it. We've had concepts of the underworld and afterlife before Zoroastrians and Jews took up the concept of hell. It's all made-up.

Quantum immortality, rebirth, hell, heaven, exiting a simulation, moving to a next phase of life, nothingness. All equally plausible, all equally unprovable. No one knows what comes after, anyone who claims to is full of shit.

People who are on this forum are probably not into this topic but I think it sounds interesting sometimes

Your post reminded me of this YouTube vid. Turn subtitles to understand (unless you happen to be Greek). The talk from 9:50 - 14:16 in particular is semi-relevant to both this thread and your post. I had become interested in religion (Eastern Orthodox Christianity particularly) around 3 years ago. I considered starting to observe it and baptizing, although nothing came of that. A bit after starting to become interested in it I also had a period in my life where I was lurking on this site a lot and some parts of the vid stuck with me because it had some theological discussions on death which somewhat coincided a bit with my interest in suicide at the time. That was about 2 years ago.

Although you are probably joking😀

I think metaphysics and theology can be cool. Some truly noble people who also completely dedicate their life to it are interesting sometimes, although, in-general, I can't understand the implications of that way of life

I just want to be reunited with lost loved ones. Maybe live in a perfect moment for eternity with everything you held dear. Pure bliss and fulfillment at last. I'd like to meet my maker and ask why I was made to be this way, and I'd probably still apologize for feeling like I failed.

I like to believe in the infinite vastness of the universe. Dying will be just like sleeping: you will feel consciousness again. Just in a completely different world on the other side of the galaxy, with no memory of this life whatsoever. Not exactly like reincarnation, since this doesn't really involve stuff like having a soul. It's just that one person is a collection of machines working together to create one perception of the universe, and after you die you will simply become part of another, very different collection of machines. But that's just what I like to think, since I really can't comprehend experiencing nothingness.

most people seem to think its what it felt like before you were born, which is nothing at all and not knowing that time is passed. my worst fear about this topic however is that we just couldnt remember how it felt, but in reality it was uncomfortable. like what i mean is if you could feel time pass even without being conscious or having any senses. not bored, but wanting to "wake up" or be alive. it would suck to lose this life if that was the case.

What do you think, are we born again after death? Some say for suicide you will get into hell, is this true? Or at least things don't get better, you will keep your problems although you are dead. I want to do suicide in order my problems are away. I don't want to worsen the situation.
Several religious type question threads today…. Hmm

There are plenty of Christianity forums on the web, some better than others. Drop in, look around and see what you find by searching.

honestly I don't care as much as what's after because no one really knows. What I want though is to get away from this life and get started on whatever is after sooner then later. This way if the afterlife is an extension of this life then I actually minimized the continued pain and trauma of this life making it possibly not as bad for after or it just gets the next chapter started sooner. This one needs to end. No one should have to suffer through so much.

I want to blame my parents for it, but it is animal instinct to keep populating. Just like it's been said some women will get this "feeling" that they need to have a baby.
