As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Challenge 58: Watch now not later!

So there I was minding my own business, getting on with my day and I had totally forgot about toadys new challenge. Fortunately I have some suggestions from @lost_one to fall back on :)
This weeks challenge is to watch something from your youtube watch-later tab. Obviously you may not use youtube or if you do you may not ulitilize the watch-later feature, if this is the case feel free to alter it to something like watch something you have been meaning to watch for a while. Good luck everyone, break out the popcorn and happy viewing

I had 262 videos on my watch later, watched a few... idk if it is worth mentioning which ones but:

Where to Start with Philosophy? (100th Video Special!) from the channel Philosophytoons.

ADHD in Women from the channel HowtoADHD.
and HECK from the channel Bitesized Nightmares. ( This is the short film that Skinamarink was based off of FAIR WARNING FOR DISTURBING CONTENT, HEAVY STUFF IN THERE

And I also cleared a little bit of the videos I had lost interest in, or had too many from a subject

I'm embarrassed to say how many videos I have in my "watch later" list. 🤦🥴 Most of them are about art ... Or philosophy. I am gonna make a concentrated effort to watch 5 videos a day until I have that mess pared down. I'll probably still be working on it this time NEXT year!

No kidding!! If you had neglectful, damaged or cruel caretakers when you were little HECK could very well trigger some -- well -- issues. Be careful.

Challenge 59: Give someone a lift

So we have done a similar challenge before where I challenged people to give someone a compliment. I thought for this challenge the idea could be either physically or metaphorically. So you could actually physically do something for somebody, this could even be giving someone a ride somewhere (an actual lift) or just helping them out with something. Or you could give someone a mental life by like saying something nice to them or giving them a compliment or making a kind gesture.

Personally I am going to write some christmas cards and give out some early christmas gift at the end of the week so I will try to include some nice messages in the cards.

a little later than monday for updating, but i got rid of more tabs...it feels so nice not having that 'work' over me lol

as for this weeks challenge, i have been holding open doors (not exactly lifting someone up but it was nice) and (especially with the xmas season) been giving out compliments. its hard not to with all the pretty shirts, earrings, and other ways people celebrate. the colours are just so pretty.

oh and someone lifted me up  i was at the hospital with someone else and my ana was acting up (my morning started off sick then was like "im hungry"). i wasnt going home for a couple more hours. and this nice lady with a "comfort cart" brought me some food and water. 🥰

Challenge 60: A year in review

Well it's coming to the end of the year so how about you give yourself an end of year review. You may be new to the thread, you may have followed it from the start or you may just browse it intermitently. How have you found the challenges? how many have you completed? Which ones did you like and which ones were a struggle.

Personally I tried to do every challenge each week, granted it is easy for me because I get to set them. Some I couldn't really do like the Geocashing one but I did have a go. I do particular like the cooking ones as it motivates me to get into the kitchen.

Hello this is my first post on this thread. I'm hoping I can use this as a way to hold myself accountable to work on my mental health. I'm very new to this forum so I haven't had the opportunity to be involved in these challenges yet but I'm really excited to start and try some of the ones that come out with the new "season"

Challenge 60: Review. I guess this is somewhat easy to track down and do for me as I don't have that many challenges.

The first one I did was challenge n°54: Open Challenge, where I drew a small poster for myself, I think that was my favorite one of the one I did, maybe just because of the amount of time I spent on it, irocally more than one week. I did that drawing and a few others since. ( Now I need a challenge that will get my writing again...)

Didn't do challenge 55 ( Strong Determination Sitting), but would like to before the year ends although it will probably be very hard for me.

Challenge 56 - Pooh Pathology test, was a easy one, which is nice too, althouh the results where a bit depressing (and accurate).

Challenge 57 Food transformation: I wanted to do but didn't, guess lack of time and motivation, I still want to make my multigrain bread, I am new on vacation so I might.

Challenge 58: Watch Now not Later - Simple but hard ironically I set myself to watch more videos than I could, so I sort of failed, there are still two tabs open on my browser for that one. :ahhha:

Challenge 59 - Give someone a lift. - Really hard for me, as I am a loner, I isolate myself from other people, I tried to do it in small ways but idk, if I had any success.

And that is it. This year has been very hard for me and I am not entirely sure what I am going to do, I gave myself a bit of a deadline on figuring things out...

Any way, I would like to thank everyone here for the support, and feedbacks, this is a really nice communtiy

Challege 61: The GCHQ Christmas challenge

I thought for Christmas maybe we could try a collaborative effort at some puzzles. They get progressively harder and I have already solved the first 3 but we could try and work through them all together

Here are the puzzles, they are very UK centric I think
Gchq

I iwll give a hint for the first one, the fist part of the word is "buck"

Nice, well might as well give the answer to the first one if you got it!

Buck, King, Ham, Pal, Ace - Buckingham Palace!

And to get the second one started;
carrier = Brown paper bag
character = Red Riding Hood

oooo~ I did 1! :3 I did a few on 3, and I think I know how to do #6, but I don't want to do math! >_<
idk about 4, 5, and 7~ :( The one on the right looks like it involves Morse code to me~ :)

I got 1-5 and could probably guess 6 and 7. Mainly working backwards from using the locations on the map rather than fully solving the clues!

I spotted the morse code too but chickened out of taking the sites/locations into the next section

Had a wave of motivation and actually picked up a pen and paper.

Now only missing number 7. Also think I've worked out the cover but need to find out 7 to fill the gaps and my brain is not coming up with close enough ideas for google to be of use!

My solution so far for the cover...

Using the numbers under each symbol to get 4 letters from each place name.

E.g. buckingham palace as we have discussed is in London, so the location of the polar bear. The numbers under the polar bear symbol are 16, 4, 5, 6. Taking those as letters from the place name itself gives EKIN (16th letter, 4th letter etc).

I have then rearranged the letters in the order that Santa's route flies past the landmarks. E.g robin first then unicorn etc

I am only missing the 4 letters for the robin, the landmark in South Wales. The rest seem to rearrange into a cheesy phrase about GCHQ. Just can't work out what the 4 first letters might be!

Also, haven't used the morse code - haven't even tried decoding it as the above seems to have given me a valid answer without. I have just used it as a route/direction, not the code itself.

******************************

Ok so I've got the phrase that I think is the overall answer, though feel like I cheated a bit by not actually solving all the clues directly.

I'll give it below in case anyone finds it helpful in answering any of the clues - being able to work backwards maybe to help where stuck or got partial answers. Provide a bit of distraction/entertainment.

I still haven't solved number 7, even with now having the overall answer (I think).

I know I give up too easily if I get stuck but sometimes I like working backwards to see how things fit if I have given up.

My answer:

UNITED IN PROTECTING THE KINGDOM
Yes it really is cheesy, right!!

(The 4 letters we got from Buckingham Palace (16, 4, 5, 6) are located second from last, before the 4 letters from the hedgehog)

So yea, still can't solve 7/the robin even with the 4 letters now worked out!

Also still never used/decoded the morse code...

******************************

Carac please tell me if I am stepping on your toes here and you'd prefer me to remove the above.

Challenge 62: New Years Resolution!

Sorry I am a day late. So what is everybody making for their New Years Resolution, if you are doing one at all? If not what are your hopes for next year?

Last year I said I would make a new challenge a week for a whole year and I completed that! Thank you to everyone for your contributions to the thread

Resolution is to use everything I can to prevent ctb before I've given psychotherapy a chance, and at least see how things are when it's finished. I especially have to use my safety plan waaay earlier.
