@YourNeighbor Dude, this thread has really inspired me.

I think I might revise my CTB plan and do a one way trek into nature (I don't know where yet), equipped with survival gear etc and keep going, then just drink SN when I'm ready. Nothing too gnarly, but enough to feel the elements. If I do it, I'll document the whole thing on here.

Like you said, there's ways of notifying friends/family by delayed email etc...

I did the 'Lost City' trek in Colombia a few years ago - 7/8 hours of trekking per day with a backpack. It was tough, but I felt so alive.

I still have a lot of gear that would come in handy now.

My only issue is I have Xanax as part of my SN 'kit'. So, I wouldn't be able to take this abroad as I'd get busted for sure. In fact, my SN would definitely be confiscated going over international lines.... Fuck.

I live in one of the most geographically boring areas of the planet. I wish I lived in the US.

Months-long lurker, first time poster. I'm physically sick (likelihood of treatment is in single digit percentage), facing an unpleasant end, and may try to avoid that fate by ctb while I still have some physical ability. I'm not depressed per se (not happy now of course), and am ideating some ways of dying that may have broader value or will at least include an adventure before the end. In late 30s, and dying in a hospital being pumped full of shit is not attractive.

Anyone consider ctb by adventure? This may combine methods (say, going to a Boko Haram militant camp in Nigeria and detonating onself--hero death fantasy--beyond far-fetched, I know), a one way hike into the Rocky Mountains, or sailing off into the sunset (literally, saw that mentioned on another post), or something like that.

Personally, I've thought about hiking into a beautiful wilderness (perhaps with N), going as far as my weakening body can go, and maybe succumbing slowly to exhaustion/exposure (could be peaceful) or hastening the end with another method once supplies run out.

Anyone else have ideas/plans along these lines? I guess these are more fantasies than strict plans, but one can dream...
Oh god..Seriously dude..This is what I will call dying in style..

Hi, I am terminally ill too. Your idea sounds very attractive actually. The only thing I was thinking about is to drive off the cliff or something haha. But I am afraid to hurt other people and also it might not work.

If you want we could talk about it in more detail, I can write you.
Sorry to hear about your health. Feel free to share your experiences and plans here. Personally, I couldn't drive off a cliff (and not sure that's exactly an adventure, though I suppose however you define that works).

A one way hiking trip has been on my mind for years, but there are so many horrible ways for it to end not so peacefully. Animal attack, falls that result in broken bones, fires, just to name a few. But for a procrastinator like myself, this idea still remains attractive as it affords one the possibility of simply dropping from exhaustion, dehydration and hypothermia. In fact, I'm expecting to ctb in precisely this fashion in about a months time. But I'll be bringing charcoal and some paracord as well in case the suffering becomes too much for me. The advantage of a final hike would be that the situation would be so uncomfortable that it would reduce the likelihood of SI kicking in should I choose to expedite things with hanging or CO.

What I'm saying is your body is going to rot when you're dead, there's nothing you can do that can stop that.

But you're dead so you won't know anything about it.
In someone discovered early (within 2 days), an expedited cremation could probably put a stop to it before it got REALLY bad... though decomposition begins immediately & accelerates rapidly, so your family would have to be on top of arranging for it asap.
