wish I was even 10% as knowledgeable as he is. that setup is straight out of a sci-fi movie. absolutely incredible@GasMonkey watches with amusement, making excellent smithers fingers
Yeah fuck that though. Yeesh

How did inhaling Nitrogen affect your mobility skills? I've inhaled Nitrogen 4 times with no effects, even tho my Oxygen level plummeted all 4 timesI'm just fucking exhausted. was 100% ready to go, had everything set and then this happened. I've been on this thread for over a month sharing my experience and advice to people and didn't even get to leave in peace. hopefully people will see this thread and things will be worked out with Richard so others don't experience it. the nitrogen I did inhale has affected some of my mobility skills as well. it's even harder to function than it was before. the extent we have to go through to get a peaceful exit is ridiculous.
and I apologize if this seems like it's targeted at you, I promise it's not.
first day after it was like being drunk. slurred speech, couldn't stand without my knees clacking together, massive headache and I vomited a few times. stayed in bed the entire dayHow did inhaling Nitrogen affect your mobility skills? Good Lord, I'm so sorry to hear that--Did you have an oximeter on your finger to check your oxygen level? After a few breaths(using EEBD hood) at 15 LPM, mine got down to 46, 46, 54, and 56, after taking off the hood at 80 or so--The one time at 25 LPM, the oximeter brokefirst day after it was like being drunk. slurred speech, couldn't stand without my knees clacking together, massive headache and I vomited a few times. stayed in bed the entire day
I didn't - was in a hotel room. as terrifying as your oxygen depleting like that is at least you know EEBD worksGood Lord, I'm so sorry to hear that--Did you have an oximeter on your finger to check your oxygen level? Don't forget if you want to test it that will require still more cartridges. (He suggests using 3 cheaper N2O cartridges using the N2O adapter.)well god damn. nowhere in the instructions does it say to have two cartridges, other than as a backup. now we're supposed to completely fill it and attach another once it's empty? that is a huge piece of the instructions missing. you're right, the instructions are extremely vague and should be rewritten. it shouldn't take us over a month to figure out a device that claims it's easy to use and can peacefully end your life in just a few minutes.
he really should have, feels like the few of us who are using it are Guinea pigs at this point. it's very frustrating and so many people want answers. you're welcome though, glad only a few of us have to deal with this and questions can be answered
it wouldn't be able to empty into the bag if you attached a second cartridge, anything that's overflow would be released from the valve. I'm guessing he said to do that do nitrogen continuously flows into the bag"When using the 18-gram cartridge to end your life, when the first cartridge is empty, replace it with a new, second cartridge and count to five before removing the Black Vinyl Cap (exhaling deeply and fully) and quickly joining the Face Mask to the ReBreather."
Like jacrispy said, this wasn't mentioned anywhere in the instructions. And this doesn't even say what you're supposed to do with the second cartridge. Fully empty it into the bag I'd guess. I wish they would be clear and precise.
in theory it isn't very difficult, attach head straps and face mask, hook up the canister and then release the gas. there are small technical bits that make the process more complicated.I'm dyspraxic and very untechnical - I wouldn't have a chance with all this.
I find it incomprehensible that it went to market without adequate instructions.
quoting your screenshot of Richard's response: "When you release Nitrogen into the ReBreather through the Regulator, the Reservoir Bag should fully inflate (just as it would if it was a balloon). And as more Nitrogen continues to flow from the cartridge, you would hear Nitrogen escaping through the Pressure Relief Valve. This process of venting gas through the Pressure Relief Valve is what purges residual air/oxygen from the ReBreather before you remove the Black Vinyl Cap to attach the Face Mask."it wouldn't be able to empty into the bag if you attached a second cartridge, anything that's overflow would be released from the valve. It shouldn't be seized because it's a piece of medical equipment.Hello, I'm going to buy the latest version and I'm curious what would happen if my rbrthr3 is seized by customs. What should I tell them? Is it possible to put me in psych ward for just ordering a suicide tool?
Ok. What should I tell them if they ask me what it is and why I do need it for?It shouldn't be seized because it's a piece of medical equipment.
The ctb aspect isn't conspicuous and it doubles as a legit breathing filter. It's even sold as one on a sister site! First, sorry for the unsuccessful attempt. If you only followed the instructions as-is, there are several key details that are glossed over or missing entirely. Although it's a lot I suggest reading through this whole thread, or at least the last 5 or so pages. The instructions should really be overhauled.Hi! New member. I have been reading posts here for quite some time.
Just wanted to share that I purchased the rebreather as well, and finally tried using it to CTB today.
Unfortunately, it did not work for me. I am awaiting to hear back from Richard as to what went wrong.
I followed the instructions, and after 5 breaths realized nothing was happening.
The bag deflated and I didn't get dizzy or sick or anything. Other than my fast beating heart due to nerves, I was perfectly fine.
So for the moment, I would say - don't buy this device. It doesn't appear to work.
I second this. only after prying Richard for answers that were missing from the instructions, such as waiting a few minutes to purge residual oxygen from the device, attaching a second canister when the first one fills the reservoir bag, making sure it's placed correctly inside the tote bag, and so many other small details that should have been glossed over are apparently crucial to use of the device. this thread has been ongoing for such a long time and it seems more people are frustrated than ever with the fact that THREE of these devices have been brought to market but none of them seem to work properly. it cost over $500 between the device, shipping, and the now six canisters of nitrogen I've had to purchase in order for the device to work as intended. this isn't okay. they're taking advantage of people who are already on edge from the constant pain of life. no one should prey on the sick and vulnerable. at this point I'm disgusted. literal months of my life have been poured into making this thread as informative as possible and I'm exhausted as we all are. there's no reason things should be this difficult.First, sorry for the unsuccessful attempt. @BlueMouse when you get the ability to can you send me a message? I'd like to discuss what exactly happened when you tried to use it so we can compare our experiences. wondering if they were similar in any way.Hi! New member. I have been reading posts here for quite some time.

$39.99, about 1 pound each, and they're available on Amazon if you're in the U.S. or CanadaHow much does each nitrogen cannister cost, and how much do they weigh, and are they easy to purchase?
the only noise is the gas releasing from the valve and when it's emptying into the bag as well as the bag inflatingFor those who have tested this kit, does it make much noise?

lay the ReBreather out on a table or counter as shown in the illustration and unfold the Reservoir Bag. Remove the Black Vinyl Cap and blow into the ReBreather. This will allow you to fully inflate the Reservoir Bag (and to verify that the Pressure Relief Valve is working). Even when you stop exhaling into the device, the Reservoir Bag does not collapse. It no longer looks like a filled balloon, but it generally does NOT return to a flat position. Now, re-inflate the Reservoir Bag and immediately place your hand over the opening into which you have been blowing (re-sealing the ReBreather from the outside atmosphere). This is the equivalent of joining the Face Mask to the ReBreather during use of the device. You will notice that the Reservoir Bag will not deflate.
Now, to complete the demonstration, flip the ReBreather over so that the Reservoir Bag is resting against the surface of the counter or table with the weight of the ReBreather components pressing down on the Reservoir Bag. Repeat the inflation process, and once the bag is fully inflated stop blowing into the device and allow the inlet port to be exposed to the atmosphere. Observe what happens to the Reservoir Bag. (I'm just visualizing this experiment. When you actually do it, count the number of seconds before the Reservoir Bag is deflated. Let me know what you observe.)
your experience directly mirrors mine. in theory the bag shouldn't have emptied since the nitrogen is supposed to be "rebreathed" hence the name. it stayed inflated when I'd blown oxygen into it through the black cap as well. I squeezed the bag to release the oxygen through the release valve afterwards. there is definitely something wrong with the device.I will be glad to msg you, when I get the ability to do so.
But, in the meantime - we can discuss publicly, so all can learn.
I emailed Richard, regarding the issues you had, as I was reading about them on this forum. He suggested the following:
I did as instructed above, and the bag remained inflated when filled with just air that I blew into it. So I know the connections are tight.
After that test, I deflated the bag flat.
I took my time putting on the face mask, and had a tight seal. I am female, so no beard or stubble to worry about.
I used 2 nitrogen canisters, that I purchased online. The bag was fully inflated. I mentally counted to five, exhaled all the air out of my lungs. I quickly removed the black vinyl cap and attached the mask. I took a nice deep breath and the air felt a bit cool, which made me think I was breathing nitrogen. I closed my eyes and took another deep breath.
After my 4th breath, I realized I was still hearing the tv in the background. On the fifth breath, I opened my eyes and saw that the bag was just about nearly empty, and I was clearly
awake and alert.
So I believe that my 1st breath was Nitrogen, but not sure about the rest.
I laid there on the bed, stunned for a few minutes. Then cursed my luck and packed up.
I had booked a hotel room for privacy and so as to spare my family the trauma of finding me at home.
So not only am I out the money for the rebreather and nitrogen, but also spent money on a hotel room, that I used for just a few hours.
To say that I am disappointed and upset is an understatement.
I emailed Richard from the hotel yesterday and have not heard back yet.
