I sometimes watch them just to de-stress. For me personally, porn doesn't have much to do with my sex drive.

Yeah, mines debilitating and unhealthy. It's an escape from reality that I've clung onto since I was 12 (21 now). It has ruined many areas of my self esteem

Tbh it does very little for me, I find mental fantasies and dialog more arousing. I mean I do watch porn sometimes but there are only so many times you can see Riley Reid's pimply ass fake another orgasm. I guess if anything, some of the amateur stuff is better.

On one hand (no pun intended) porn creates an escape. On the other hand (again, no pun intended) as soon as I am done, I feel even worse, for a little while. Because it emphasizes my bitter loneliness.

and when you try it in real life, and you get disappointed, you will understand that life is a rather cruel thing. and yes, I also like to watch (1-2 times a week for sure). helps to distract from the attraction to the body of another person, because this is just a disappointment

I think with 1 or 2 times a week, you hardly qualify as addicted. Personally I am more like 1 or 2 times a day! Or at least thinking about it! ;-)

I kinda watched a lot of porn in the past. You could definitely say I was addicted to some degree. It kinda worked as a way to cope. But ever since I started my transition, porn stopped being interesting for me. It's literally boring now and I assume it has a lot to do with my hormone levels. I don't mind that, though. I think it's a waste of time.

Completely.

Right there with you.
How so if you don't mind me asking? Not to be rude but I don't think anyone else here really understands lol

I can spend hours everyday alone in my room combing through the internet for porn, I masturbate on average over 5 times a day and am desensitized to everything.. It's made my social anxiety so bad that I've had 1 job in the last 3 years (that lasted 10 months) and I haven't made a new friend in 4/5 years nor do I have the courage to try. I can't even find a therapist for this.

I'm just stranded in mind that's continuously deteriorating it's morals away and I have tried to stop it for 10 years...

I had this issue before I was this lonely (well I guess even when I was with the love of my life I still felt lonely)...

I blame porn for ruining that too... but at the end of it it's me to blame.

If you're a male who suffers from depression and anxiety, try giving up porn for at least 3 months. I know it sounds crazy but it can really change you as a person. Giving it up is far from easy and can make you feel like shit for a while, but give it time and you'll notice a difference in the way you feel about the world.

The porn and anxiety/depression are problems in their own. I can hardly last a day without becoming obsessed over porn. I believe it's a form of sexual compulsive behaviour (kind of like a sexual ocd)

I agree, for me it's to end any and all suffering I'm experiencing or radiating off into the world. I'll find peace too but it's the suffering bringing me there

I'm curious. How is it being addicted to porn?
It's a nightmare disguised as a relief, when you're bored, masturebate, when you're anxious, masturbate, think of something that triggers you masturbate, if you can't at that moment then you obsess over it until you're alone. When you masturbate you edge for hours, until you hurt, sometimes until you're raw.

Then you have to consider the way it affects your fantasies.. I've been watching hardcore porn since I was 12, that stuff rarely gets me off anymore, it's like going 50 km in a 120km zone to me...but I'm obsessed. How do you quit something you're addicted to when you always have it by your side?

It's a complete psychological nightmare
I'm a dateless virgin so yes. Does it make you feel worse after? yes
I'm not a virgin but I haven't had the courage to go out and try to get laid in a couple years, I basically feel like a virgin again and I used to have a lot of sex with my ex... I'm not sure if you're confident enough but you can do it in this Tinder age man!...

and I no longer feel bad after, it's more of an empty feeling. Eventually I gave that up

It's hard to not want the dopamine that comes from masturbation, specially when we talk an addiction that doesn't require consuming anything. Sadly most people only care about addictions to stuff like drug, while ignoring these kind of addictions which they just chalk to a lack of self-restraint. If only there was a way to lend you a hand to help you get over it.

I appreciate your comment Alchemist... I just don't think that society has really caught up with how dangerous this can be on the mind, especially a developing one. Although I'm beyond the hope of getting help I hope that the medical field catches on sooner rather than later for all the other young minds out there...

I've read some anthropological studies which comment on masturbation, particularly younger male teens (as sexual activity would begin not long after). Boys around 13-15 would masturbate, often with one another as a game of sorts.

The shame people feel about masturbation is just a fabrication of our prudish society.

As for porn, I suspect sexual frustration rather than porn itself is the issue. I recall the sexual agony a few times from my past where porn was very enjoyable, but the absence of sex was demoralizing as he'll.

Now, in my 50s, I'm lucky to have a very fit wife, but I still enjoy a bit of porn: chaturbate is an interesting curiosity (viewers can control sexual devices on the "models" with "tips")... cyoa erotic (e.g. Amanda clover) is pretty cool too. As for the standard fucking videos, boring.

I always thought that if you masturbate a lot your "thing" would become smaller each time.So suddenly my "thing" just would disappear as a punishment.

Lol that doesn't happen, the hardest thing to do is climax. No issues with blood flow though
