I can say quite comfortably that the majority are. If you start speaking to the girls in brothels or strip clubs (and you aren't a client), it rapidly becomes clear that no one is there for a love of the work.

Mmm I don't think you have much of a foundation there. The women I worked with were more concerned about paying rent than anything else. We used to have a running joke in the brothel that you know the industry is going to shit when the hookers don't even spend their money on coke...

Well I guess it depends on the economy and the cost of living, some women have to deal with. My sister has this obsession with living in expensive cities... And would work a bunch of shitty jobs like being a waitress. But even that didn't cover all her expenses, so she would legally, sell her body to rich men. Fuck capitalism...

Ay, I suffer from hypersexuality myself.

Whilst it may sound great to have, it's very much a curse. Especially when you have hazardous fetishes that can cause damage. Battling it just never seems to end, really.

I am not addicted to porn, but there are times where I do watch them out of boredom. I try my best not to think about it and also since I'm a virgin, I'd rather not torment myself with seeing people having something that I am unable to get organically (failed dating, romance life).

It cannot only cause damage but it's also really hard to deal with if you have extreme anxiety...

I don't watch much porn but I'm addict to masturbation. I prefer to use imagination to arouse me. I often think of women I know.

I wouldn't say addicted, do I watch it? Yes. I agree with what @Angst Filled Fuck Up said about that the other stuff can be more arousing.

It can have to do with hormones to. For women at least (only perspective I can speak out of). For me it happens more often around ovulation. Hormone levels spike.

Used to be quite addicted to it upon first discovering tube sites around 2010. Been through the whole escalation to harder and harder videos stuff and all.
I used to think (and still do, actually) if I were a man, I'd never be able to get an erection with my SO. My sex life, surprisingly, had always been great, and still is, but that's because, again, women don't need to "perform". I simply enjoy the experience without any pressures (well, there's the body image stuff, but that's something else).

These days I try my best to not watch it cause it simply depresses me too much. I have a tendency to glamorize porn and porn performers, even the vilest. It's hard to explain exactly. Still, I can only orgasm by watching porn, so sometimes I have no choice. But I won't mindlessly browse and stare at it for hours like I did in the past anymore.

How so if you don't mind me asking? Not to be rude but I don't think anyone else here really understands lol

I can spend hours everyday alone in my room combing through the internet for porn, I masturbate on average over 5 times a day and am desensitized to everything.. It's made my social anxiety so bad that I've had 1 job in the last 3 years (that lasted 10 months) and I haven't made a new friend in 4/5 years nor do I have the courage to try. I can't even find a therapist for this.

I'm just stranded in mind that's continuously deteriorating it's morals away and I have tried to stop it for 10 years...

I had this issue before I was this lonely (well I guess even when I was with the love of my life I still felt lonely)...

I blame porn for ruining that too... but at the end of it it's me to blame.
I think you have to recognize that it's not porn that's the issue here, it's some kind of underlying issue that probably has something to do with mental health. I think this is just the vehicle you use to cope with anxiety or other uncomfortable feelings

It's because when you are watching porn, you are watching what is essentially fantasy sex. And of course fantasy > reality. Because reality, just isn't that exciting...at least for most people.

I'm either in a phase of hypersexuality that involves "addiction" to sex and porn, or I'm completely disinterested and even disgusted by it. I have never found a middle ground, at all. It's very frustrating to say the least. Although, I do feel worse when I'm hypersexual, so I can see why giving up porn/masturbation could help some people.

I'm guessing it's because life doesn't really offer you much... So for many people, their choices are basically sex, porn, sleeping, eating etc or CTBing...

Anyone else here severely addicted to porn?
I'd say I've bordered on a porn addiction in the past, but honestly, wanting to ctb has taken two things with it. My appetite and my libido. I can do the deed, but I honestly don't have much a desire to anymore.

Fuck porn anyway. Why watch other men have sex with women when you just have sex with women. Porn never made sense to me.

It's hard to not want the dopamine that comes from masturbation, specially when we talk an addiction that doesn't require consuming anything. Sadly most people only care about addictions to stuff like drug, while ignoring these kind of addictions which they just chalk to a lack of self-restraint. If only there was a way to lend you a hand to help you get over it.
lol "lend you a hand"...:haha::haha:

I'm female and I can only orgasm if I masturbate and watch porn. I've been with lots of people and it always just feels uncomfortable being close to someone. I only feel safe when I'm alone. When I'm with a partner, even when it's fun, I can't really relax. It just ends up being me trying to help them finish quickly and get out so I can get high and masturbate. "thanks, bye!"
I just see it as a physical reflex, like sneezing. It's sad that society places so much importance on it. It's just so they'll keep "accidentally" getting pregnant and making more consumers. Most of my porn is pretty boring these days, I just read dirty personal ads lol.

I guess so. I mean, i'm no newbie, I've been watching the behind-the-scenes stuff for years as well, I know very well how this shit goes and how fake it is, and still.

Also, and anybody who's been watching mainstream American porn during the last 2 years or so will know what I'm talking about, but without naming names, there is a huge, relatively new network of sites that focuses so much on style and "aesthetics", it's like... they combine hardcore porn with cinematography and style that resembles high-end fashion. They even interviewed the director and network owner not so long ago and he said that's his vision.

And then it's like... the pressure is even bigger. What the hell do you want from us? Let porn remain dirty and filthy, idk. The way it is now, when I watch it I cannot stop imagining my boyfriend watching it and expecting things to be this way. Makes me so sad.

Yes to the parts about only being able to orgasm to porn + not being able to "relax" during sex because of being preoccupied with the other side finishing. But I guess for me it's different than for you cause it's not because I wanna "thanks, bye" them and go masturbate as much as I feel "obligated" to make them finish. Which, interestingly, only happens to me in long term relationships. When I was on the Tinder train and had one night stands I was able to be much, much more "selfish", but I still prefer LTR sex, guess I am a boring normie despite of everything, other than the tiny little fact of wanting to CTB lol.

Yeah, this pretty much sums up how porn is lowering the quality of people's lives.

I read that porn/sex addiction is similar to an eating disorder: an irregular relationship with something we are programmed to consume to succeed

Any kind of addiction is a bad thing, whether it is a junk food addiction or porn addiction or whatever addiction. You become a slave of that addiction. And all you can do is follow the path it is leading you down.

Sometimes it's repulsive to me because I don't want to accidentally impregnate a woman and I'm cautious when it comes to STDs. But also that damn sex drive kicks in sometimes and then it's like my brain is being taken over by a chimp.

I don't think being repulsed by repulsive things means you're broken. Sex is gross and overrated. You aren't weird for being repulsed, the rest of society is broken for being obsessed with it.

My immediate thought when I finish is usually just "that was a quick and efficient way to handle a bodily function." Like a laxative or blowing my nose, lol

I kinda watched a lot of porn in the past. You could definitely say I was addicted to some degree. It kinda worked as a way to cope. But ever since I started my transition, porn stopped being interesting for me. It's literally boring now and I assume it has a lot to do with my hormone levels. I don't mind that, though. I think it's a waste of time.

It's a manga called "a girl from the shore". There are quite a few manga that resolve around life, struggles and depression.
