Does anyone else use any type of substance to try to numb the emotions? I have been battling alcohol addiction for many many years, and it always wins, however, it also kind of helps... Does that make sense? It's like a vicious internal battle....

I don't use substances, but I seriously think about using some drug at some point because, mentally, I feel like I need it to stay sane.

It's an addiction, so yes, it makes sense.
Alcohol is a sneaky "friend".

I like to drink some cold non-alcoholic drink to relax.
My current favorite is Dr. Pepper.
I used to drink a lot of energy drinks in my life, but I stopped a while ago.
I kind of got bored with it.

Good luck with your addiction.
