i am thinking i might be trans and not non binary femboy.

and i was like omg thats it maybe i can just transition and i wont have suicidal ideation. i have seen many trans people having si crisis and then transition and it stopped.
on the other hand i see many people here that transition and it still not stopping so i am like, should i even bother?
if you are trans and passing, why you still having si? is it still because of gender dysphoria or other issues?
maybe this part of us that want to be trans is constantly active and trying to make us into crisis to change but it happens for so long it becomes chronic even if we change?
idk

plz help

That depends on what is actually causing your suicidal ideation, and it sounds like you are still trying to figure that part out. Do you feel your gender dysphoria is the primary thing causing you anguish, or is it something more nebulous, like a combination of different life stressors?

Regardless, I don't think it's realistic to assume any one thing can fully resolve your suicidal ideation, rather, I think you should focus on doing things that will improve your quality of life and make living more tolerable. On that note, feeling in alignment with your body might offer some relief toward achieving that goal. I'm not trying to convince you one way or the other however, because your mileage may vary and passing is not guaranteed.

I feel conceited to admit and have a difficult time fully accepting the idea due to my body dysmorphia, but I have been told I am attractive on numerous occasions and receive a lot of attention in social settings. It has definitely boosted my self-confidence and improved my social life, but I am ultimately struggling with too many other issues. I have overcome my gender dysphoria, but still have a lot of unrelated trauma that prevents me from doing or achieving much of anything with my life.

I don't consider myself a woman, but it's how people read me. Having people treat me like a woman and finding me attractive has opened me up to a lot of different experiences, and not all of them have been positive. I could elaborate, but it's all typical of what anyone would expect.

thank you for answering.

i have no idea why i cant handle any pain.
there are stuff i like and enjoy doing but i dont have any reason bear this pain and i dont know why tbh and i dont know if it is some gender dysphoria i am hiding from myself
so any kind of pain i am having i just want to kill myself becasue i cant bear it

idk , i feel like a girl in a body of a guy that like it. i just cant express my femininty lots of the time or it is very misunderstood by society about how to treat me.
i want to go to women circles to talk about my feminity but i will probably be rejected from some and if i can join i will feel like an alien around cis women.

I'm trans and I believe I pass (I never get misgendered). I have a bunch of other shit going on and dysphoria isn't even that high on the list of reason if why I would want to end it. Some passing trans people want to kill themselves because of their gender dysphoria, just because someone passes doesn't mean they don't feel dysphoric. Maybe it's your hips, or your wrists, or maybe your primary sex characteristics, or your childhood not fitting the gender you are, or something else. Also being trans sucks. Constantly hearing that you're either a pedo, or a murderer, or nonexistent, or whatever, is tiring. And people act like trans people are crazy for being suicidal.
Not long ago a relative of mine went to Egypt on vacation and at first I thought "wow, that's cool" but then I remembered that there they could put me in prison for just being me.

Hi! I'm a passing trans person. I'm 20, transitioned when I was 15.

I had dysphoria when I was younger but not anymore, my gender expression has become a lot more fluid and I identify as bigender despite still being perceived as a man, which is alright with me.

My gender never has anything to do with my suicidality, I didn't become more or less suicidal afterwards.

hey, I'm a passing MtF girl, started transition 5 years ago when I was 18

honestly the dysphoria is still absolutely terrible especially when I get intimate with my cis girlfriend its very very difficult to bear the pain. the dysphoria is even worse than it used to be but I think its because of a lot of internalized transphobia on my end (well its what people say atleast).

I went to Peru for N in May mostly because of the dysphoria. its really really bad. i dont know how to fix it.

I pass and have been stealth for a few years now but, as much as I am trying my best to get better, I still have suicidal ideation frequently.

What I can say is it's no longer due to being trans, or at least not due to dysphoria. I do get suicidal when I think about how I live in a conservative state that has anti trans laws. That sort of thing scares me really bad.

Generally my suicidal ideation is due to other things. I spent a very long time going from attempt to attempt so suicidal became my default. It's hard to break out of that. I also have ptsd and lately I'm starting to fear I might be going crazy which is concerning.

Things are still a lot better than pre transition though, holy shit. Pre transition was a literal hell. I woke up sobbing most days, awful. Now things are getting better, I'm scared and things aren't easy but they're far less difficult than before. If you have non transition related issues they will likely remain post transition but they'll at least be easier to manage.

You may not even pass and still feel better. I am now visiting this forum more rarely since transitioning, usually for reasons unrelated to my transition. If you feel dysphoric, you should not wait to transition as your apperance will keep developing in line with assigned gender at birth otherwise.

Wow, I really don't understand any of this.

So basically, you're a guy who wants to be a woman but you're still attracted to women?

I'm trans (and suppose I pass).

YMMV with transition, but I can speak to my experience.

Pre-transition, I had SI. Even after transition I have SI. But they're two totally different flavors.

Pre-transition SI: "Nothing I do will make me happy"
Post-transition SI: "Even if I find something that makes life worth living, does it even matter?"

Pre-transition SI, for me, came from being fundamentally misunderstood. I was assigned labels like "gifted," "son," and "Catholic" that just weren't me. I was expected to play a role both in my family and in society that I was never meant for. It felt like a casting call gone wrong.

The SI came from feeling alone, and from hopelessness that things would never change. I isolated myself and dove deeply into my schoolwork. That became my identity. I had so much pressure to do things perfectly. I couldn't afford to be vulnerable. And, well, that kind of pressure and relentless achievement can break a person. I can do whatever I set my mind to, but I tend to sacrifice a lot to do it.

"When there's nothing that feels worth living for, why live at all?" sums up those feelings.

Post-transition SI has been different in the sense that now I know that change is possible. I've lived through it. I thought I'd always have to remain a boy, but alas, even that could change.

And transition itself brought all kinds of emotions with it. Joy, grief, sadness... At least I can feel them now. I couldn't even do that before. I still stand by transitioning and am glad I went down this path, even if I was scared. I'm 5 years on HRT and I'll never ever go back.

But transition doesn't take away my sensitivity. Living through both that and an ED gave me firsthand experience in seeing how systems fail vulnerable people who need them. I was hospitalized multiple times, mistreated, and then given a bill for my troubles.

My SI has become less focused on myself and more focused around society. What right does society have to my labor? Why do I owe society anything if they continue to fail me and let me down? When did I agree to this, and how can I renege?

This wave has been all about my frustration with systems and seeing through the cracks. Patriotism means far less to me than it did when I was younger. Corporate bullshit doesn't have the same effect on me that it used to. Churches become less about celebrating what makes us human and instead resort to protecting insiders. The healthcare system exists to protect shareholders, not patients.

I'm quite disillusioned, as you can tell. And while I have faith in my own ability to change, I don't believe that these institutions are going to change anytime soon. They're too baked into our social structure. And that sucks because... I really don't want to live in a world where I have to deal with these day in and day out.

Plus, there are existential questions I've been wrestling with. What does any of this matter? Who cares? Why am I here?

That being said, transition helped me find things that were worth living for. I like being able to mentor others. I enjoy public speaking even if it's scary. And it gave me my lovely little cat too.

It's those things that keep me around, or at the very least, debating whether or not it's worth it for me to pull the trigger.

So I'd characterize this wave as, "Is the pain of life worth the things you've found that are worth living for?"

Different question. I'd rather be wrestling with this one than the last one though.

No, she is a woman. A trans woman who is a lesbian. She does not "want to be a woman", she is a woman.

I pass in every day life, the few times I have been clocked it's by other trans people.

I've been depressed since puberty, and with every passing year my depression has gotten worse. Transitioning helped for a short while, but then it just got worse.

I am still unhappy with my body, unhappy with the world and the existential dread it brings me. The things I am upset about will never be fixed. The only way I survive any amount of time going forward is if I have someone to genuinely ease this pain, but I think even that is cope, because I've failed at finding a lasting version of that so far.

I've grown closer to myself, I understand myself way more, and I know I deserve better than this fucking life.
