A couple years ago there was this website called novni and on it was a thread called "I hate being a girl so much it makes me wanna kms" and I found a couple stories of women who transitioned hoping to feel better and saying it didn't help them. like a month after I found it the whole site got taken down. Next I go to reddit and find similar threads about people hating being cis women and they get belittled, called misogynists and told to just transition. I go to trans men threads and they agree that they feel worthless without a penis but don't wanna say anything. And finally, I search for similar thoughts online and I find a channel with a video where a cis and trans woman were discussing "oppression Olympics" and the cis woman (not disclosing names cuz I don't want people harassing them.) referred to transphobic women not feeling heard or cared about compared to trans women as a "trauma response." Complete with eye rolling and everything. And yet another channel with a video called "transphobic women hate being women." I hate complaining. I hate being vulnerable. But I can't be the only one who feels like im just worthless for being born with a vagina. Regardless of gender. I cant be the only one that feels like cis men and trans women are just more loved (and hated) by society while cis women, trans men and basically anyone with a vagina are just pushed to the side and told to shut up for having feelings. And then men complain about bottling up their emotions. I'm so over this shit man. Phallocentrism is going to kill me and I have no one to talk to about it without being shut down when all I really want is to know how to deal with it. I wanna cry. It feels like women can't have anything while men are allowed to shit on trans men non stop and no one says a fucking word. I'm so over it. I'm over pride. I'm over everything. Shit on me if you want. I'll get used to it. We always do.

it pains me to see you feeling this way, it sounds like you are deeply troubled by society's treatment of women.
I can't say what will help you, but I can offer my unsolicited 2 cents on the matter. I try not to play the "which sex has it worse" game and try to recognize that both have issues. I have a theory(not my own theory, nor a new one) that society isn't nearly as radicalized as social media and the news portray it as. I feel like there is a silent majority of people living right now that just try to live a good and moral life. the things you've encountered online may not be representative of how most people would respond to you in real life.
but that is just my opinions, and i've learned that logic can explain an emotion without curing it. Your feelings are valid and you don't deserve to suffer like this. I don't have any answers, just my thoughts. I wish you well, take care of yourself. ~<3

Trans women reduced to amab, love to see it. (I really don't know where you see that love, all I see is hate towards trans people in general)

Honestly, there is just a lot of hate in the world in general, and it makes me not want to be here. I do hate the fact that a lot of the world does seem to be centered around the cis white male, that much is plain and obvious, but it's not where it ends. The reason you hear all sides bringing up their emotions and blaming the other sides is because we are all in pain, and screaming it out into the void in the hopes that that pain goes to someone else instead.

It's awful, and the only way out of that cycle is to try and put as much optimism back into the world, but it's fucking hard and I struggle to do that also.

Well. Ten years ago I transitioned (M2F) and then detransitioned. I still have the manboobs to prove it from that experience. I was passing not flawlessly but I was never misgendered, also I was passing very well from voice. And then I detransitioned and now am living as a CIS GUY again. My experience is just like the song, everywhere you go // you always take the weather with you. If you are a cool person, you will end up surrounding yourself with cool people. It doesn't mean you will be happy necessarily, but. Other people won't be the problem. Unless ofcourse you live in a shitass place. That's just my opinion. Both men and women have reasons to complain, not sure how much they should tho. Just my 2 cts. 😊 game on.

I'm so sorry. I hope I didn't accidentally invalidate your feelings. I will say that the world's phallocentrism is probably what makes me feel the way I do. If the world saw vaginas the same way I'd probably feel the same way you do. (That's how I know I don't necessarily have dysphoria.) The grass isn't always greener on the other side I know. It's just my own mental illness telling me otherwise. I wish you the best though. You've still got something others would kill for.

I am a cis male, and it breaks my heart to hear these sentiments (yours is not the first I have read about the struggles of being a woman).

Guys suck in general. Not all,
but enough of them to ruin things for everyone.

Thing is, I love women. That's not just sexually motivated, I am in a monogamous relationship but have many women friends. To me they are society's collective conscience. I literally credit women with keeping me alive. Aside from keeping everything functioning in this world there have been a few I have poured my heart out to. I cannot trust men the same way. There must be decent men too but they are so hard to find.

Avoid toxic people. It is hard to find and surround yourself with good people but it makes such a difference.

The biggest reason why I'm suicidal is because my genitals were mutilated as an infant without my consent for the crime of being born a man in the child rapist states of America. Where is my justice? Crickets. Instead I have crippling constant nerve damage and a giant scar to remind me that my parents are pedophilic demonic child sexual abusers.

I need to clarify, this is just what it FEELS like. I've seen examples of phallocentrism and noticed patterns. I'd be irresponsible for saying if it's true or not. That's why I said it. To see if others feel the same or if it's just my mental illness and insecurities talking for me.

I'm not reducing anyone to anything. I'm saying I'm suspecting a pattern where people born with penises tend to be more desired than people with vaginas. The "best of both worlds" rhetoric and all that. I know it's just chasers saying that but it really triggers my inferiority complex. I've never had this problem until recently and it sucks. Especially when deep down I KNOW I'm wrong.

I don't know if this will make you feel much better, but I do feel that there are places that are vagina-centric. I took a women's lit class, and it was pretty interesting in that regard. I still have a pin on my backpack that says "vagina warrior," lol. There are places and people out there that don't fit the same mold, though this doesn't necessarily fix the broader societal issues you mention.

When I was a kid I always wanted to be a boy, because nobody got angry when they fought each other or got their clothes dirty.
But I don't feel like I'm in the wrong body or anything. So eventually when I grew up I decided to just not care about gender stereotypes and do whatever I want even if people say: " you can't do this as a woman!". I don't care any more about the opinion of others. I travelled by myself, hitchhiking through many countries on all continents on my own despite people telling me time and again that a woman can't or shouldn't do it. For me I don't mind being a woman since I grew up and just stopped caring about what women are expected to (not) do. So if at all possible, i.e., if you live in a place or can migrate to a place where women have equal rights by law it might be helpful to just stop caring about what others say or expect of you.

Woman have it less worse then man, man are barely looked at, more alone in friendships/social connections, have proof them self first to attract opposite sex. 90% of man have almost zero chance. While for woman even a big relatevily ugly lady can get herself settled.

Their was once a article about a woman who tried to be a man for a week or so, she shortly killed herself after.

I'm not saying being a woman is not hard, but you can't compare it with being a man

i was a tomboy when i was little and i learnt pretty quick that girls/women are second class citizens: you want to play football? nope. you like sports? nope. you dont like dresses and skirts? too bad. you want to go on a trip with your girlfriends? nope. you want a job? are you planning on starting a family? you want to go on a night out? whos going to drive you back? why arent you wearing makeup? why is your hair so short? everything is centred around mens needs and wants. i hate it and i hate the patriarchy and men are too fucking stupid to realise that it hurts them as well...

Trans woman here. I can only really speak from that perspective, but I'm only one of many.

I appreciate your perspective and yes, being a woman sucks in a lot of different ways. Other people don't always believe us the way they'd believe a man. We're expected to be accommodating and for what? To be ignored and treated like crap in return? Who set up this dynamic and why? Why must we perpetuate it?

I don't have the answers for those questions, but I do know the feelings you have are valid and have roots. And I'm sorry to hear that you're in pain because I am too. As other posters have mentioned, I think this is a larger scale / societal issue. Sucks that so many of us are hurting :(

I'd be careful about considering trans women more loved or reducing us to being AMAB though. No reason to catch us in the crossfire - same team here! We're the butt of jokes and it's pretty difficult to hide the effects of natal puberty on the voice, height, etc. Can also make it easier to characterize us as scary if folks haven't actually met us. Frankly, I don't think trans men nor trans women have an easier journey. We're on a similar roller coaster ride but with different bumps along the way.

Not sure if that helps, but just know that you aren't alone.

Is like body dysmorphia regarding sex characteristics right? I think on some level we all can relate to this to various levels of course that's why I wish we could treat it the same way without people assuming they'll be shamed into thinking a certain way about gender.

Shit on me if you want. I'll get used to it. We always do.

First of all, I mean no offence with any of the following and your feelings are valid no matter what... but I nevertheless have to speak frankly here

To me, it sounds like you were reading almost exclusively stuff from very specific and non representative bubbles and that's not even close to statistic reality.
Here is the facts I've seen proven countless times and there is also research that mostly confirms those findings:
  • Generally you are praised and treated like you have intrinsic worth for just existing as a (non trans) woman, while you have to achieve stuff for anyone giving a single fuck about you as a man.
  • Generally you are a lot more free to express your feelings as a woman, especially the negative ones and judged way less for it (the only exception of that would probably being too open about sexual desires, but even that has changed or is changing rapidly these days).
The list could go on at this point nearly endlessly. Especially in recent years I can't fathom how you came to the impression you're having since literally all the world hates on men (and their sexual desires) constantly while praising pretty much everything, including a ton of nonsense, regarding women. So all of this sounds quite unreal to me.

You speak as if you have personally experienced such, "ugly" women in society are treated worse than animals.

The difference is that 80% of guys have it hard in that regard and maybe 20% of women. Not being able to have several romantic/sexual options and sex whenever they want is mostly a guy problem – most womens reality is the abundance of said options. Yes, unless obese or ugly af, both of which you can even work on much much easier, than charisma, success and status (which you need as a man to not be invisible) especially since you're allowed, hell even praised these days, for using whatever measure to be more beautiful.

I can definitely tell you, having a penis (and having been born with one) with all the countless problems that entails is one of the major reasons I want to CTB, despite not even looking bad I have 0 options ever since I got really depressed. No one stays with ill men or has any compassion for their problems.

I'm a cis woman. This post reminds me of my ex. We were together for around 4-5 years before they came out as a trans woman. I remember being confused, but accepted it after taking some time. But to keep it relevant I see it somewhat to an extent. The rest of the relationship was them just comparing my body to theirs and daily talking about how they are "jealous" of me, especially regarding my figure and face. It was hell because it was them always crying about it and it fucked me up because how the hell was I supposed to react, especially as with time I realised this wouldn't be sustainable for me for other reasons as well.
. I cant be the only one that feels like cis men and trans women are just more loved (and hated) by society while cis women, trans men and basically anyone with a vagina are just pushed to the side and told to shut up for having feelings.

Quoting to address this ^, but also the other people speaking from a "men have it worse" view.

I wouldn't compare men's struggles to women's. I don't believe they are the same, but both genders meet severe issues related to the gender they were born. Neither have it worse, because having it worse means it's on every single level, and that's just false. My observation is that most people who compare struggles go down to sex. I believe that's a very isolated perspective. Many men do not know the things women have to go through, hence why cis women get neglected, especially in a societal and medical area. This same issue also found in countries that are still "traditional".

Each face their own struggles. As for people who transition, I think that's another category in itself. I have over the years read multiple cases showing that people who transition don't feel "complete" after a successful transition, so the disrespect could come from pure self-hatred? Hence the posts you saw of people saying they don't feel complete after transition.

While I won't invalidate your experience, but I can't say I have noticed hate towards women because they have a vagina. There will be hate on everything and everyone. Gender, religion, race, philosophy. Hell, down to what clothes you have in your closet.

Where do cis women get rejected on a societal level?
Medical as well seems way overgeneralised. might be true for classic medical fields, but in psychology and therapy it's rather the opposite since that field is entirely gynocentric, starting with the amount of female and male therapists and also most methods therapy is conducted (talking, which on average is not a way to solve a man's problems very well)

Anyway the same is true for any cis man who doesnt embody what society is expecting (mostly achievement, never complain, go along with everything modern feminism says, etc.)

I have observed that many men when speaking of the topic of societal problems often immediately goes to sex and dating. While I acknowledge the stats confirm mens struggles in that part, and I will not dismiss it, it's not ideal to use such narrow perspective when trying to understand a woman's experience.

Just because women may have it easier in dating, does not make their life easy. Policing language, heapeating, degrading language (esp. if the woman is younger) is quite common, and for that reason also normalized. This also includes in professional settings where a woman does not know how to adapt to the team. I am not here to write an endless list of issues or go forever into detail, but my reply to OP was to stick to the topic, while addressing others doing nothing but dismiss it. I can not look through a man's lens, and I will not try to, because I am not a man. That does not make my, and other women's issues, less important or severe. It's quite dumb to sit here and compare struggles. We know men have it shit, and women do too. We all have it shit, but on different areas. I assume you are a man, and I will with confidence say that a man will not know a woman's struggles in life, and that's actually okay too. So long that people aren't trying to go around saying "what about me?!".

Most women do not on average get better with therapy either. Therapy is neuroscience, and has been male dominated and researched but mainly men until modern times. Therapy styles are usually very specific in method, so gender doesn't matter unless you meet someone who has personal issues of their own, and reflect it on you. The goal is to try to organize and try to help you reframe how to process trauma and behavior. The keyword is try. Most people don't get much out of it, especially if they are already self aware (or stubborn), but for many it is their path to possibly unlocking better resources and help. Generally if the problem is external, it doesn't matter what gender you are, that has to be sorted differently. Talking isn't a method for women's problems to get solved either. It's merely cope. Coping can be healing too. Many people mistake therapy for the issue out of the therapist hands getting solved. Not the case at all.

By medical (i'm talking somatic here) gender bias isn't an opinion. It is documented.

Women in general are underrepresented in clinical trials, and have more issues with pain management related to their biological sex, because most conditions have either too little research, or is blatantly ignored, especially by male medical practitioners. Certain conditions that affect both men and women actually show on the genders differently. This makes them more likely to be dismissed or misdiagnosed, which can be fatal or cause perm. damage. Most conditions that women can face don't have a treatment at all, because it's new research and not prioritized. One of the reasons why so many women are on birth control. It's the only thing out there, but with tweaking in formula or format for each treatment. Many woman today don't even know this themselves, and are either walking undiagnosed, or are in good health and just aren't aware because it doesn't involve them.

Saying this is overgeneralizing confirms that many men (and women too) are not aware of the female health and biology.

I find it wrong to go into someone's thread who is expressing their struggle and instead of acknowledging or contributing by adding your thoughts regarding her experience, it is dismissed. While it is fine to disagree, it's wrong to do this to someone in a vulnerable position, regardless of gender.

Somewhat true, but I didn't in my post. Sex and dating touches on my 2nd point as well, but there is tons of other dimensions to it.

Regarding the why:
If you can't get sex but do have male testosterone it becomes basically impossible to think about anything else at some point. I speak from experience. Not something most women will or can ever understand I guess. Just no relatable experience exists for them. I can only tell you it's hell from my very own 6 years of not having any.

I get your point, but I answered to specific claims where women have it supposedly harder than men according to your previous post. Saying that they don't and giving some examples why it's also hard for men in the same area. I have never heard any of these kinds of statements from a woman where I couldn't think of the male equivalent in 5 seconds and give it as an example. The same is true for the examples you give in this quote, but I won't go into detail here because it doesn't matter I guess.
I guess I'm just annoyed by the fact general society is seeing these things very one dimensional, through the female lens and men's issues are widely ignored. But I guess you at leat acknowledge they exist and that you can't judge how it is, so thank for that.

My intention was not nullifying women's issues which I largely can't comprehend either, but just clarifying that what the OP sees is a very narrow minded view.

Most women do not on average get better with therapy either. Therapy is neuroscience,

Well at higher rates than men.
Therapy is psychology mostly, not neuroscience. And 'talking about problems' is female "problem solving" strategy. It doesnt actually solve problems tbh, it helps women to cope with them though, I guess. That's at least what behavioural psychology tells us (a field dominated by women). An that's not about therapy styles it's about the whole framework that is used in therapeutic contexts. There is extensive research being done on this by now, you can look it up yourself, even the google AI gives some answers if you just type "gynocentric psychotherapy" and possibly add the word "research". I really don't have to nerve right now to go down this rabbit hole (again) myself right now as it's a trigger for me after all my semi or non helpful therapy experiences.

For the other medical subject I agreed on you. Tho it's important to say why this is mostly the case in my opinion. Not because of misogyny but because of practicality and ease of clinical trials mostly (not having to worry about how female hormonal cycle impacts the research).

I'm sorry the OP feels the way she does, but I feel some of it could be alleviated with a reality check. Because that the world hates you for having a vagina is just not true, at least not in the western world. Rather the opposite, if anything (probably also not true, but directionally less incorrect).

Side note I truly don't get why you guys don't just go on T blockers or something. You're always complaining about what a curse it is to be sexually horny and be blue balled all the time, yet you do nothing about it. Personally I would've castrated myself if I had to put up with that but that's just me
