I've been hoping and praying that my life would sort itself out or that something good would happen.

I'm not saying it has, but at the 11th hour I've just been offered a consulting job to go in and update the accounts for a large company.

Honestly I don't know if I'm in the right headspace to even do it, but Christ my life is a rollercoaster.

Maybe take some time to mull it over?

Congratulations on the job offer.

Now it's time to decide what to do.
Wow the timing is scary!

Apologies if you've answered this before but are/were you on meds? Do meds help your headspace issues at all? If you took the job would you be able to go back on meds/change your meds to help you cope better? (I'm not particularly pro meds but just curious as to whether they could make a difference for you)

Yes the timing is scary.

The guy sent me a message on a Saturday, on the day that I originally planned to end it.

I'm not on medication at the moment, no.
I was on anti-depressants until recently.

Maybe take some time to mull it over?
Perhaps. I'll speak to a few people about it.

I say go for it, buddy! Employ the best tactics you have to clear your head space. Go for a jog, watch some futbal, have a pint with your mates, listen to the 9th....reach into your bag of tricks and utilize the strategies that work for you.

I can feel your strength and determination! You've got nothing to lose! Cheering for you!

I'm actually going out on my road bike today after a four-year and nine-month absence. I don't have my music situated yet as I'm trying to download my iTunes library into my Android and I'm having some difficulties with that. But, I'm going riding today nonetheless. This has always been the best thing for my moods, @BipolarGuy, and I'll limit the length and intensity of my ride to try and keep myself from becoming manic. The downside for me from cycling is it tends to trigger my mania. However now that I'm Mindful and better understand my Mania and have learned I believe all of my triggers I can better self protect.

First, I am, about to load up on some coffee at McDonald's. It's now 5 a.m. and it's opening time at my McDonald's and just like a Pavlov dog I'm out front salivating ready to get inside.

Hopefully you are engaging in whatever works for you to clear your head.

Peace

I say go for it! You've got this. Something amazing happened at just the right timing for you. I say take a couple days, relax, calm your head (I know easier said than done) and get yourself ready to take over this company! Congratulations

That's awesome @BipolarGuy. Good for you! Serendipity has a way of fucking up your plans, but in this case bad is good. Even if this is a temporary turn of events, you get to squeeze life by the balls one more time. Whatever it takes to get in your groove, I wish you good luck and stay strong.

congrats I would take some time to decide if you can manage handing a job with your condition. But I sincerely believe the job could be a turning point. Maybe it changes your life and you meet new people and grow. There's still the high likelihood of having bad days but that doesn't mean you won't have good one. Someone believes in your enough to offer you a job I think that's a huge thing because it means they value you.

Take the opportunity then. Especially when you say, you've been hoping for something good to happen. I can imagine how scary this is, to be honest.

If it's worth it to you, why not try it. You can check out at anytime, considering you already have everything you would have needed. YOU are the one who makes the schedule, so you are allowed the change it whenever you please.

Good luck

Hmmm, I'm now worried about the fact that as I'm in a bad financial situation, I won't be able to afford travel costs until pay day.
Just thinking about what's involved.

No, unfortunately not.
I don't know how things are where you live, but in Germany, the unemployment office(?) Might grant you some benefits if you lack the funds to start employment. Maybe there's something like that where you are aswell.

I have sent a message to my contact at the Jobcentre.

I cannot find anything about help back to work online.

Don't cancel the plans just yet.... :aw:

I'm sure they'll be able to answer your question, once they read it.
