I just practiced partial for the first time. Wrapped the rope around a pole above me. Tied a slipknot and placed below Adams apple. Leaned forward and within a few seconds start to feel loosing consciousness. Is this a good sign this method will work for me?
Yes it is ! Just remember exactly where you put the rope so it's in the same position on the "sweet spot", the place where the carotid arteries are closest to the surface of your neck !

I just have a few questions that don't deserve their own thread...
1- how do you know that you're doing this right? I felt my ears ringing, loud heartbeat and my body started getting numb, is that it? Should I just wait more?
2- how much time is needed to lose consciousness?

Sounds like your doing it right. I feel like each time it feels different. Takes about 10-14 seconds. Vision starts to get weird, hearing buzzes and yes body goes numb. Just got to play with it a bit.

Today I played with the strangulation/passing out part for about 30 mins or so. I got to the point where i just went for it. Got into position 3 legs out in front. Passed out almost immediately but came to having convulsions... I felt every bit of it. They hurt like hell like i was being electrocuted. I was able to stand and cancel out... Took me a min to realize where i was and what happened. Man i wonder went wrong. I was right there.

Thanks, now I have the problem that every time I push on my arteries it disappears between cartilage and my throat. Is this just me or is that normal?

I'm just surprised how many people want to do this using a door handle or wardrobe. There is nothing in my apartment which I would trust to support the process - and at least I want to get the equipment right before trying for real.
I thought jumping was my preferred method, but I have had to conclude that my fear of heights just won't let me do it (several frustrated days at the cliffs under my belt!). So I have a good strong tree climbing rope and I plan to use a Blake's hitch for the noose and a taut line hitch to secure the rope (both with stopper knots) a bit of foam packaging between the rope and my neck. I am going to try woodland at dusk with a drink with a sleeping tablet to ease my way (I take sedatives often - they don't make me pass out, just dull the senses and reactions). Found my carotid artery no problem so know where to position the rope and I'm thinking partial suspension from standing/leaning like the girl in NoPillPhilosophy's choke game video link.
Problem is, like for so many of us, the theory is easy, but I have no idea if I will bottle it...
I agree don't do the door handle thing ! Last time I tried the handle came off the door and the door off the hinges....

Corpses of people who died by carbon monoxide poisoning are probably not as horrific.

You will never know if you succeeded regardless of method. Assuming death is the end, of course, in which case you simply can't know anything if you succeed, because you will be no more.
In case of natural death also, one can not know he is dead

Hey folks, I wrote a post on this board today (https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/an-experience-w-partial-hanging.35033/) about my experience/attempt this Sunday - had a nearly successful (slightly accidental) partial hanging attempt, and wanted to link it here in case it's informative.

I would like to do full suspension hang off a tree.
What rope should I use? (lenght and thickness)
What knots should I use(on both ends)?

if placing the rope below the adams apple, how do you prevent it from slipping up when you drop??
Good question. I was wondering the same.

Positioning yourself like that?! I will try it soon.

Guys be fucking careful. I just came out of A&E with stitches to my face after a "let's see" moment.

Anytime I tried to choke myself before it never got anywhere really. Just light headed at best for ages. I decided to use the exercise resistance bands and each time I did I felt it tight but not going too much further.

So for some reason, whilst standing and on a whim, I decided to tie it around my neck again. Next thing I knew I woke up throwing up blood in a lanic (didn't realise at the time). Saw my floor, walls and corridor were covered in blood and in agony. Looked in the mirror and saw like I just got hacked to pieces. I landed on my face and my glasses smashed.

Had to call my parents to get to mine to help me clean up. Ibid course protested it was not an attempt but hard to justify that level of blood for a trip (even if technically true). Went to A&E and got stiched up.

Point is, don't try any attempt unless you can pull yourself out quickly or aren't fully ready with the goodbyes etc.

Sounds brutal! What made you do it and not commit to it if you don't mind me asking? Glad you're okay though!

Thank you. Honestly? Not sure why. I think cos previously I never really got far and thought I would be able to pull out if it did get real. I am convinced if i was sitting i'd be dead right now. I think I just wanted to know I could pass out/that I would be able to commit to a method without chickening out of

I brang two of my neckties together and tied it to back of door hand then pull the other part over the door. I standed on a chair looking opposite of the door. I mean i got my back to the door. Then i got the tie to my neck and i let my one of my leg free. One was still on chair. Last thing i remember was i was choking. I recorded it anyways. I saw in the video later. The necktie broke off and i fell down. I hit everywhere with my legs unconciensly. Then i laid down still with very deep breathings. Then i woke up in seconds and it was very devastating. If the necktie hadnt broke off i would have been dead maybe in minutes...by the way i knew the necktie highly possibly would broke off. So it was just a trial act... But i now consider buying a rope to try it with... good luck all to you. I am new here. And my problem is social phobia and i am depressed till 13 years old. I am now 35 and to live a normal life is far away for me. I am very hopeless to get marry to have child or to maintain real relationships... i feel very lonely. Good luck be well
This is so sad. My heart hurts for you.

Thanks for sharing your report, but do you really want to post photos of yourself here? I cite concerns for your privacy.

As for me, if I decide to hang I have a 11 mm thick synthetic rope that is 7 meters long, I'm assuming this will suffice.

Was the choking painful?

If you look at your post, there should be an option in the lower left to edit, if not, then contact the mods for help.

I've been practicing partial with a couple of neckties and the pole in my closet (Position 4, since I'm afraid I could bend the pole if I use another position). In my latest attempts I've been feeling how my vision starts to fade to black and how my hearing goes in a kind of slow motion (I usually leave some music/video playing in the background, and I can hear it playing slower if that makes sense). But right after that a strong panic hits me and I stand up again.

I just wanted to confirm, am I doing it the right? Anyone having similar experiences? Do I just need to overcome this strong panic? Any tips are appreciated.

Hi guys. I am 19 years old. I have been following this thread for about two weeks now. I have been through and read each comment to prepare myself. As most people I saw, I was having a hard time losing consciousness. Tonight, I had no issue nearly reaching that point. If you are serious and are genuinely looking to ctb I would watch the video of the woman leaning forward and then standing up which led her to pass out. I had tried many different positions and putting the rope up higher and leaning at an angle into it is the first time I've actually hit the carotid. Tonight I am going and I wish you all the best of luck with this method.

I think I'm ready. I've been viewing this thread for a long time. I'll finally be at peace. I'm going to try tonight or tomorrow night, most likely tonight. Wish me luck.
You did it?
Only what scared me is what happen after die and how my body is going to be eaten by maggots, and what if I can't fully reach that I be left with a brain damage, this is gonna make the life worse.

I think the suicide is the easy thing if you really want to die just hang yourself, it's not hard when you are really are sure that is what you want, and you family maybe can be a obstacle but I see him happy when I'm still depress and fuck up, so I think they gonna be fine.
