Need some advice with tying a slip knot, took me a long time to learn but I think I got it. It is dock line so being thicker makes it harder to begin with for me to tie. Here is my problem the rope is 15 ft, much longer than I need, I need the knot closer to the other end but I'm struggling, worried I'm gonna screw up cutting it to make it shorter unless I absolutely have to. Am I wasting my time even trying to do this and need to simply cut it or should this be relatively easy?

I googled how to cut it but I don't have fancy tools like a blow torch. Any tips would be appreciated.

If you tie off with something like a double constrictor for example, the excess will all just serve to strengthen it.

The one end has a spliced eye I think it is called, using that at the anchor point. I need to get the other end to have the slip knot at the higher height, I'm confused about your suggestion if you could please explain? Really struggling with knot tying and making this all work.

Sorry, so are you talking about full suspension using the eye over sort of hook? Most people tend to tie off with a knot, hence it's possible to slip the eye through that knot until all the excess rope is not causing a problem.

More or less yes and full. So confused how I'd even do that, I was so excited to find a strong rope with the eye, one less knot I'd have to worry about failing. I'm desperate and don't know how to make it work?

I'm aiming to shut my carotid arteries (the pressure of that closes the jugular veins too) and leave my windpipe open. That way you avoid the bloated head feeling and get to breathe. I've been able to achieve this before so I just need to replicate it when I attempt again. Sometimes I find the right spot and sometimes I can't get it for the life of me!
Do,k it's because of the way the pressure is applied? I think sinking slowly into the noose initially closes the jugulars and allows the head to fill with much blood before closing carotids, so maybe quickly fall into and close the carotids at the same time as jugulars as possible even thought the carotid arteries are deeper in the neck. I wonder if that's why so many are failing?

Simply because it's scarier jumping into it right. What you say is right, but most will probably try and take comfort from easing in.

Yeah slowly easing in just doesn't work. It can apply the force on the jugulars but not the carotids. I was able to close my carotids by giving the noose my weight fast and strong. I find it's easier (as well as more effective than doing it slow) as it's like ripping off a band-aid rather than slowly peeling it off.

Yeh my theory is that closing the carotid arteries after easing in too slowly is nowhere near as effective as quickly suddenly dropping your weight so both jugulars and carotids are close simultaneously as possible. Maybe that's why so many can't find the sweet spot when really it could be because they're easing in way too slowly? Who knows

Yes I suspect that's what a lot of people are doing, easing into it too slowly, maybe that's why so many seem to not even be close to losing consciousness. I can't believe it's because the sweet spot is difficult to find

How does alcohol or weed fair with this method? Do either relieve the pressure/tingling numbness feeling at least a little?

Apparently some studies have shown that most people who hang themselves don't drink before hand. Which is interesting, cause it can only help. The condemned in England always drank several pints before 'they were on the wagon'. Weed I'd suspect would make things worse for obvious reasons.

what if the rope loosen after losing consciousness ?
It depends how far into it you are. If it breaks soon after an attempt you might not sustain any serious damage. But later on the odds are greatly increased.

Guide to partially suspended hanging:

Warning: Don't try this method unless you're totally sure that:
a) you want to kill yourself
b) that you won't be found for at least 30 minutes after you attempt.

This method is very lethal and quick (quick from your perspective
anyway, as you black out within seconds), but if you're found in time
and 'saved' you can end up with serious brain damage and/or be left a
vegetable.

Why partial suspension?
Because full suspension seems to me to be unnecessary and creates
difficulties. First of all you need to find a place which would hold
your entire weight, which isn't easy, and also you need a stronger
ligature, which isn't always easy to find either. There's nothing
wrong with full suspension, but it may not be a viable method for
everyone, especially if you're looking to use everyday materials from
around the home.

By partial suspension I mean that you hang yourself around the neck
(specifically the carotid artery), and push downwards while kneeling.
This should create enough downward pressure on the ligature to tighten
it and close the carotid artery and stop the blood flow to your brain.
All you need is 3 kilograms of pressure to do this, which isn't much
at all.

Also, with full suspension your entire body weight is pressurizing
your neck, and this would probably be more than enough to not only cut
off the blood supply to your brain, but break your neck as well. I'm
not too sure if that's a good or a bad thing. I do know though, that
statistically people who've attempted via hanging have more often been
found kneeling and partially suspended than being fully suspended.

Where is the carotid artery?
Before you start you have to know this. If you place your hand around
the middle of your neck, around your Adam's apple, with one thumb on
one side and all fingers on the other, you should feel a strong pulse
and heartbeat. If you close your hand now fairly firmly, you'll
probably make yourself pass out. It might be a good idea to try this
to make sure you've got the right spot.

What type of ligature?
You need a ligature that's strong, but not too elastic. It doesn't
have to be very long, 1 meter or more would be plenty. I'd advise
against nylon rope, string, fishing wire, etc.
Neckties on the other hand, are perfect Smile .

It may also be a good idea to lubricate the ligature with soap. This
would help the noose tighten even quicker, especially if you're using
a rough ligature such as a rope. Lubricating it in this way will
increase the friction once you push your head down and tighten the
noose, and could make it a little more effective and faster.

What type of knot?
A slipknot. It's one of the most basic knots around, and you make it
with one end of your ligature. The other end should go around your
hanging place.

Many people have the misguided idea that a hangman's knot should be
used, but they're wrong. A hangman's knot is for a completely
different purpose, and won't work for this method.

Where should I hang?
You should hang from a support which will hold part of your weight.

You should test this by tying the loose end of your ligature around
the support several times, sticking your hand (NOT your head) in the
noose and pushing down with it. If the noose holds, you're fine. If
not, then you'll have to find another spot.

A great and easy place to hang is from the thick horizontal metal bar
which you find in wardrobes in most homes.

When should I do it?
When no one else will be in the same area, for at least 30 minutes.
You lose consciousness within seconds but your body doesn't completely
die for around 15-20 minutes. The extra 10-15 minutes is for
preparation time and just in case.

How?

When you're completely ready, kneel down, stick your head in the
noose, position it around the carotid artery and push downwards with
your head.

Good luck...
I'm having trouble figuring out where the artieries are, I felt sharp pain and stopped and this is difficult. Like how far out should my fingers be? Or how far up and down ?

My noose at the door. My biggest fear is somehow fucking this up, cuz what if I sold all my stuff and managed my affairs and tried partial and didn't die? I'd probably just attempt until I did at that point

Still need to play around with angles and noose heights but the noose is strong enough to support and not break… it's a cotton rope from temu. My back up choice was a bdsm rope bit this worked welll, did bend over and gasped for breath, god hope I don't claw it off with my fingernails when si comes in or end up not getting the right spot….

i've been trying all night to cut off circulation to my carotid. My neck is sore and I still haven't had any success. I've always had extreme difficulty locating a pulse on my body, so I really don't know where to apply pressure. So far the best results I've gotten is a headache from the pressure in my head.

SI is the main reason people end up going full.

Wearing gloves would reduce the ability to claw and release.

With partial suspension I d be afraid that the survival instinct could suddenly stop me from bringing it to the end
Before you do it, watch this video:

Why would that be important?

It's a great rope. It's pink because I want an innocent and girly color to juxtapose my gruesome death. UwU Gotta have some humor. I mean I'm sure those who discover me won't find it funny but I tried.

It's sturdy and durable and not scratchy on the neck. If anyone wants a link pm! It won't break, tested with neck and head!

And yep.

Good idea

There's just so much that could go wrong, I kneeled down with the noose against my neck, didn't have it hung high enough, felt light and dizzy, was kinda nice, began to choke and gasp for breath tho! Will def need alcohol. I intend to practice more. My back up plan is full to a tree, seems to have a higher probability then partial

Hanging is my ideal method tho, some discomfort and pain but it's also kinda what i want tbh, I don't want a peaceful death. But the dizziness it's sorta pleasant and nice.

But idk. I'm getting psychiatric help yet again (hell no they don't know about this). Maybe l'll hold off. But I know my method if I do nice feeling

How would you hang yourself from a belt? I have one, it's not particularly long, I'm hoping I can use that to ctb so I don't have to tie any knots. How do you attach the strap to the support? And how would you put the buckle around your neck without it hurting like hell (ik I should place it around my carotid artery, how would I find out where that is and whether or not it'll hurt like hell when I do attempt?)

Remember not to blackout to often or you could push your luck before any attempt at CTB. I don't want you or anyone being a halfway house here. Full and partial both have their pros and cons, go with what you're comfortable with, because if you're not, then they'll be no success because you won't even attempt it in the end. When you know your method and setup, there's a quiet confident and proper planning really gets going.

It's where your strong pulse comes from in the neck. Try feeling under your left jaw. Although carotids and jugulars go both sides, so this myth of this and that side is a little silly. The carotids only supply 66% of blood to the brain as well. Although shutting off this supply is enough. Going with a belt with partial is less likely to block offth carotids quick, cause it doesn't cinch tight and had a wide surface area. It's possible with full I'd say, but unlikely with partial. You can jam lose.end of belt in door and door frame or loop through or over a wall anchor of such.

I'm aware… I was convinced I was gonna kill myself 2 years ago, didn't because I didn't realize how slippery nylon rope was, boycotted my entire plan. It was on impulse, I didn't plan it well. I learned to really know what I'm doing before I attempt again.

And I didn't make myself black out, too risky as I'm not ready to go just yet. I'm merely practicing. Why would blacking out too often sabatoge ctb? I wanna know the science
