Do you think Amy Winehouse's death was ctb or an accident?

The coroner's report said it was alcohol poisoning but who knows she may have had enough and drank herself to death.

I think she wanted to die at that stage ...but it was a sort of inevitable accidental ish OD is best guess. She was never going to make old bones as they say. So many factors at play there as to why she died, but I do think she wanted to die at that stage, just don't know if she actually planned it..

It didn't feel to me like she stood much of a chance in living happily, despite (and maybe bc) of her wealth and fame.

Love is a losing game... My fave song of hers but makes me sad as lots of her suffering was heartbreak-related and it didn't look like she won in that.

Chronic suicide, although technically an accident. If she'd been somehow recovered from that episode, she'd have been dead before ever turning 28 anyways. For years, a derisive nickname for her had been Amy "Crackhouse" after her body had withered and it was widely presumed she was deliberately channeling Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain by also pushing for a death at age 27. Like them, her death surprised nobody.

Strictly speaking, only Cobain's shotgun death was an intended targeted suicidal act, but he'd almost died of overdoses shortly before multiple times before Courtney Love resuscitated him. (This is why I reject accusations that she was somehow involved in murdering him. He was the father of their daughter and she'd made heroic efforts to keep him alive when she was present to save him. Sure, she was the second coming of Nancy Spungen, but Spungen did not kill Sid Vicious and Love would not have killed Cobain if either of them were to die at the hands of the other.)

These people did not want to live long lives, and were living on the edge as a result, pushing the limits, spurred by the heightening of their own mortality. Joplin probably had to most to live for with her solo album Pearl then under production, but it's generally supposed her tenth high school reunion tore her heart out less than two months before her death after she discovered that her fame and fortune had done nothing to change her social rejection by her former classmates. (Even today, aside from a single bust of her in the Port Arthur library, she is ignored in her home town in favor of the numerous gridiron sports legends who went to high school with her. Gridiron sports, not blues singing, is what has always been revered in Texas. However, Janis remains loved in San Francisco, and her ashes were appropriately scattered from a plane into the Pacific off Stinson beach.)

No, once again, I do not believe Amy Whitehouse deliberately CTB when she died, I think she simply drank to her heart's content, and didn't care if she woke up or not. Because of the potential to vomit, alcohol poisoning is not a reliable way to CTB in a singular binge, only as an extended chronic suicidal act.

Regardless, her chances of living to be 28 were zero, and everybody knew that months before she actually died.

It's got be Robin Williams. His movies such as "Bicentennial Man" in which he plays a robot are still watchable. One of his most poignant films in the light of his suicide is "What Dreams May Come" which featured him rescuing his wife from Hell after she ends up there after committing suicide. Strangely enough, his partial hanging method was in one of his movies if I'm not mistaken.
As I recall he had degenerative brain damage and perpetual Brain fog. Decided not to live with it. A great loss.

Gary Speeds death was very shocking. Watched him on Football Focus (UK football show) on Saturday 26th November 2011. I thought nothing of it. Just a legendary ex football player doing an interview like normal. Woke up the next morning to the news he hanged himself in his garage. Still shocking now!

It does shock me when someone who seems to be very successful CTB as we see them as having the perfect life but underneath they are human and suffer from mental illness, Caroline Flack is another one that shocked me but being in the public eye is especially stressful and you are being watched and judged constantly but then you have a leech like Lewis Burton who new how to make money out of every situation but she couldn't see it, he kept borrowing money and sold pictures to the media which pilled on the pressure and he's already in a new relationship borrowing large sums of money again.

Won't be long for us to get another shock celebrity suicide.

Cheers

Malik Bendjelloul, swedish documentary film maker of "Searching For Sugarman", who even won an Oscar for it. I was surprised and sad because the film was especially sensitive in tone. With the cheerful praise coming from all over the world and numerous other award winnings and nominations it would've led to a bright career for sure.

Another film maker, polish Marcin Wrona.

Both young talented men, working in a profession you might consider fulfilling and exciting.

No, i've never been one to care about the personal lives of the celebs. However with many of these individuals it is sad. I would like to live in a world where I see more headlines with serial killers or terrorists CTBing in painful ways instead of these actors

Well here are a few more UK celebrity suicides to add to the list you imagine a perfect life but you forget they are human and can suffer just as bad as anyone else.

Ian Curtis, without a doubt. One of my heroes. When I wanted to be a writer, I listened to every JD song a million times in a row, almost mesmerised. I think because he suffered so much from ellipsy, he had a remarkable understanding of the human condition. He died at only 23.

It didn't really surprise me to lose Chester Bennington. I could tell he was hurting since hybrid theory. I miss him a lot though. When I go I'm going to make sure I wear his shirt since I don't have the courage to end it using the same method.

Anthony Bourdain and Reckful. When I heard about Reckful, I was shocked and stunned he was gone. I watch his last stream where everything seemed normal. His last words 'see you tomorrow' really hurt me...

Musician Keith Emerson, of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. One of my musical heroes. Never saw it coming. Apparently, he was losing his ability in his hands, and the thought of not being able to play anymore was too much for him.

Gary Speed in 2011. Football manager of Wales (and former footballer), aged 42. Had appeared fine on live national TV show Football Focus earlier in the day. Seemingly good family life, obviously well-off, no clear history of mental illness. Found hanging in the garage by his wife.

Super interesting, I can think of two that just deeply affected me. The first was Hana Kimura.i found her from terraced house. And as a former-avid watcher watching moment by moment the lead up was super surreal. The kind of thing people were saying from English watchers, I can only imagine how much worse the bullying was for her in jp. And if I'm not mistaken one of the trigger was an incident that played out that set the onslaught of bullying and hearing accounts of her friends that said she didn't seem the same and was off since. I'm rambling but a lot of shady stuff has since released that potentially could have prevented her death. The second was Joyce Carol Vincent (not officially ruled a suicide). It chilled me and left me unsettled. I saw so much of myself hearing about her - super uncanny. The fact that on paper she had so much friends, a socialite, but then is just forgotten for years just rotting. I mean this sincerely, this is how I feel id end up going - either by choice ie ctb or by accident and this discovery has stuck with me everyday since I came across the case.

Not really. I don't want to waste my time concerning myself with people that actually have the things I would need to live, and so much more. A few might have obvious issues I could sympathize with, most do not. I'm not the audience for their privileged woes.
Everyone has the right to end their life when they've had enough, but sometimes topics like these become nauseating as I feel so much focus is put on suicides of people who "had it all", the poor people who didn't have it all are dusted under the carpet like nothing. No shock or tears shed for them.

Robin Williams and Garry Speed shocked me.

I say shocked only because it was totally out the blue. I wasn't expecting it. But I'm not shocked because we're all human and anyone can suffer.

Also from the US show "Everybody Loves Raymond", one of my favourties, one of Ray's kids took his own life a few years ago.
