For real has anyone known anyone that successfully died by suicide. How did they do it

At this point of my research I see too much of "I failed" or "you may fail if" etc. There's many ways to fail and not enough guarantee. I want real life stories. I already read thru https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/suicide-resource-compilation.3/ and I'm more discouraged than anything by the possibility of failing.

As a side note: Why would you want to convince yourself with anecdotal evidence. It's worthless
Statistics clearly state that most attempts fail, that is a fact. That is mainly due to most attempts choosing a non-method or botching the method due to unconscious reasons (doesn't want to actually die, just needs attention, etc.) or bad execution.
Statistics would also show that most people who do their method correctly here in the forum succeed, if such a statistic existed, that is.
So that's pretty much your solution to feel as safe as one can feel...

This post was helpful. I wish I could find Moonie's post mentioned here that has her planning steps before execution.

Unfortunately with Google it's hard to get real articles with keyword searches as it tends to return suicide help articles and ai prompted "call this suicide helpline." Ofc I searched there before I made this post.

For people I knew personally.

One by shotgun. He failed the first shot but finished it on the second.

One walked out in front of a transport on a highway. He was drunk and had severe depression.

One by hanging from a tree in the woods. During highschool years. Another hanging in a barn recently by a local I somewhat know.

A few by suspected drowning. They were never found, but evidence led to believe they swam out to sea. I think one corpse was possibly recovered, not sure as it was kept quiet and the remaining family left.

My grandmother was by drowning at the beach. She was quite depressed and got manic. I was too young to remember much.

I couldn't tell you how things went for any except the first. I was told that the first shotgun blast took out half his face, its suggested he fired under the chin and flinched/. He then managed to get back in position to fire again. His sister was in the house and saw him take the second shot after she heard the first and ran upstairs.

"Based on the suicide acts that resulted in death or hospitalization, firearms were found to be the most lethal method (CFR:89.7%), followed by hanging/suffocation (84.5%), drowning (80.4%), gas poisoning (56.6%), jumping (46.7%), drug/liquid poisoning (8.0%) and cutting (4.0%). The rank of the lethality for different methods remained relatively stable across study setting, sex and age group."

Yes, I remember an acquaintance who, after an accident in a car that wasn't his, decided to hang himself from a tree. Whenever we passed by that tree, people would mention the fact that he had hanged himself there.

You can find it via the search (might need 20ish posts or so to unlock), but it was a fairly standard SN protocol with you can look up in the SN bible and multiple guides about the method, which are all linked in the stickied suicide resources section.

Other less censored search engines actually might net better results, but there was someone who mentioned having success making a google news filter for this as well.

I wonder if SN and Inert gas are included under suffocation there... technically hypoxia ≠ suffocation.
