Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

You can find it via the search (might need 20ish posts or so to unlock), but it was a fairly standard SN protocol with you can look up in the SN bible and multiple guides about the method, which are all linked in the stickied suicide resources section.

Other less censored search engines actually might net better results, but there was someone who mentioned having success making a google news filter for this as well.

I wonder if SN and Inert gas are included under suffocation there... technically hypoxia ≠ suffocation.
I think SN is usually classified as poison. Not sure about inert gases! I'd have to go review the studies they used. I don't think SN is very popular outside of SaSu, so not sure how much info there is out there.

If you ever want to link journal articles, news articles, anecdotes, etc about SN, I made a thread for something like that.

That would suggest listing it as hypoxia, as that are the symptoms that can be found both in hospital or after death in case of a successful attempt. But if they don't list it you might be right about poison after all...

Sounds like a lot of work to review this, but if you feel up to it, feel free to. In case you do, I'm sure a lot, including me would still much appreciate you sharing your findings in a conclusive thread!

I haven't really ever seen any, but if I do I will get back to that. Usually I don't really look at news about this much tho, I'm preoccupied with this site enough xD

I think inert gas would be under gas poisoning (56.6%).
Which also would be wrong, but yeah, not unlikely ig... Has much higher success rate than that, if executed correctly, after all.

Overall I feel like the categories in this sadly are way to general to really properly assess a lot the methods we are talking about...

You're right, hypoxia isn't really suffocation. I don't think using SN is that common outside of these forums, so it falling under drug/liquid poisoning wouldn't be too out of the question (less than 1% are using SN from a quick search). I can imagine the average person is using the other ways described in this thread.

Maybe the distinction between the feelings of "suffocation" versus physically suffocating is important here. I'm not too sure.

im not sure, i think that inert gas is such an uncommon method that is not well documented, this is my chosen method, and it was hard to find studies on it, because most of it was just individual case reports https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11419-019-00473-2 (if youre interested in how many cases there have been)

i dont think that it would be classified as poisoning because i have never read any of the limited studies into it reference poisoning, its classified as asphyxiation and a hypoxic death, because the gas doesnt poison you, it displaces oxygen rather than chemically poisoning the blood

lol or maybe im just trying to convince myself because this is my method, but there is nothing thats poisonous about it, i think this is mostly referring to carbon monoxide, and i bet its mostly referencing charcoal burning

Housemate jumped from a tree in front of a train. I had to identify his body at 3am

Friend hung herself.

Multiple other hangings I've heard of in my hometown.
