☆People might remember you, but only if youre dead

Recently I've been seeing posts of new users desperate to reach for any "method" avaliable out of desperation to die. I relate to that desperation, I really do. Which is why I hope that this thread of mine makes anyone who considers CTB by over-the-counter medication like paracetamol, despite all of the megathreads pinned on this forum regarding OD non-methods, reconsider.

CTB by over-the-counter medication seems like a generally easy and fast way of exit. That is absolutely not true. Sources like Google might tell you that suicide by paracetamol is a reliable, efficient way to die depending on the prompt of search. I wouldn't consider it true, I actually think that google's sources regarding this method rely on extremely rare, intense cases of succesful overdoses with paracetamol use, instead of taking into account the actual statistical majority.

Paracetamol overdose isn't as easy as it seems. Most of the time the rare death from it takes days to weeks in absolute agony, and I don't wish that upon anyone on this forum, as I assume, and I want, anyone suffering here to have a painless, peaceful, quick transition.

Statistically speaking, death through paracetamol overdose occurs in less than ~0,1% to ~0,4% cases recorded and docummented. It's definitely a pitful statistic.

Early symptoms include non-specific symptoms like nausea, profound exhaustion, and severe abdominal pain. Later on, usually over the course of days to weeks if medical attention isn't received instantly, symptoms can transition into jaundice (yellowing of living tissue like skin and eyes), confusion, problems with proper blood clotting, with possible complications like liver and kindey failure, lactic acidosis (a serious medical condition where too much lactic acid builds up in a person's blood and makes body fluids too acidic), low blood sugar, and pancreatitis (inflamation of the pancreas).

It happens because paracetamol overdose triggers a progressive, multi-day failure of the liver and other major organs as a highly destructive toxic byproduct physically dismantles liver cells from the inside out.

On my example, I once was naive enough to attempt with paracetamol use. I was very, very young, and with that very desperate to die. I definitely acted impulsively at a time, convinced I did enough research to succesfully CTB. I bought a few boxes of paracetamol in my local store, and I was ready to say goodbye.

I took about 35 to 40 pills if I recall correctly. Each pill consisted of 500mg of paracetamol, far past LD50. It ended up with a trip to ER, marked orange in a triage, and an aggresive treatment, as they pumped me with all kinds of antidotes. I never died, it felt like I was dying, but I was far from it. Instead, I vomited straight stomach acid and blood once I irritated the walls of my throat enough, for 7 hours every few minutes constantly. They considered a liver transplant, but my liver bounced back surprisingly well enough. They charged me out of the hospital after 4 days, and I ended up with chronic health issues regarding my liver to this day.

My case was severe, but I didn't die anyway, so I consider myself a living proof that got to tell the tale and warn anyone else considering this method.

There's a much more cleaner, more detailed source on Wikipedia regarding this matter, and I hope it might be helpful for anyone who needs it:

A pinned thread regarding non-methods, it also talks about OD'ing with paracetamol and similar of such:

And a thread about suicide resources:

I'm aware that sometimes it genuinely feels like life gives one no other option but to die at the very moment. But please, always reconsider when acting impulsively or considering an over-the-counter medication overdose. It's not a reliable method, it's agonizing, and it nearly always ends up with failure.
The forum consists of much more effective, peaceful methods of exit, and I'd like everyone who acts out of desperation to take breath, sit down, do their research, and prepare.

I think this is all. Thank you for your time.
