I would tell my 10-year-old self not to be alone in the same house with her father, especially when he has been drinking. If Mom goes out, try to go with her or go to a friend's house. I would tell her to learn how to do housework fairly well and to try to learn how to like doing it. I would strongly advise her to tell parents, teachers, and other adults that she is being bullied at school. I would tell her to get private tutoring in math so that she can get over her fear of math and learn how to like it: being comfortable with math and competent at doing it will open horizons and careers to her that otherwise would be closed to her and constrain her life. I would also tell her to write, write, write as much as she can. I would tell her to find a way to regularly attend Alateen meetings after she turns 13. Oh yes, and I would tell her that going to Mass every Sunday is quite important: Jesus Himself is contained in the bread and wine that the priest consecrates, and it is a sin to deliberately miss Sunday Mass. I would tell her to pray that her parents and brothers come to church with her.

I'm disassociated from my childhood and don't feel its me, the story is long. But I think nothing would change as its being deterministic. I was abused and I had zero control on the life. What would I say, I don't know. I had no choices

Further, I'd also add how much they had screwed me over permanently in several ways but not to let it get to me 2.) Do not quit skateboarding, even when you relocate for the nth time and no longer have any friends. 3.) NEVER take SSRI medication. 4.) Take good care of your personal hygiene 5.) Man can I sympathize with this... I actually was 10 when I had that opportunity but I really didn't have the hots for her. Almost two decades later and that is the closest I've ever gotten. She was kind of cute, though, but I preferred the blondes (and redheads!)

I know ten year old me would be scrutinizing the shit out of me (especially my weight lol), and I'd probably be scrutinizing them a lot more than I would any other ten year old too, which does frighten me a little bit, and I know that ten year old me would be delighted over the weirdness of an older version of them fearing their judgment
I don't think I'd tell ten year old me what to do or how to behave or what the future will be like

I would tell her that what she's feeling is more than just fear and that she should get help for it as soon as possible instead of waiting until things get really bad. I would tell her to forget about the bullies and switch schools because in 3 years none of it will matter anyway. I'd tell her to look for a new best friend and not limit herself to only a couple of friends because if one of them leaves she'll be very lonely.
If I could go back in time and talk to myself at 10 I think I would be able to change a lot about how severe my depression is, or in the very least delay it a while. I don't think I could change my anxiety but I could tell myself to get help for it sooner and learn to control it before it gets so serious.
I would also tell her to take up hockey because why not.
