Discussion Do you make jokes about suicide? How often?

Recently I was on the road and a deer looked like it was about to jump in front of my car. I rolled down the window and yelled "Don't do it! It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem!"

I find myself making suicide jokes often, does anyone else? Any joke you found to be very funny?

I don't remember any specific jokes; they're usually not particularly funny, but I really like to joke about suicide. My close circle of friends knows about my problems, and sometimes they take my jokes with suspicion, but that doesn't stop me from making them

i do not. i do not want people to think im just insensitive because nobody in my life knows im suicidal and i know nobody would believe me if i told them. and i also do not believe i have the right to joke about it.

I didn't start making jokes about suicide until I started being suicidal lmao. Some are more uh. Worrying than others. I carry a lot of medication (just paracetamol, ibuprofen and nytol) with me and I'll joke to my friends about taking them all. No one has really batted an eye. I say I'm gonna kill myself a lot.

every time a minor inconvenience happens i say "im gonna kill myself" lmao
(now any time i've started experiencing like anything minorly wrong with my body like aches or sneezes or coughs i go "i'm gonna die" lmao)
i also frequently tell people to kill themselves but only if it's people im friends with and i know are cool with it lmao, and along those lines sometimes if someone like is bantering wih me i go "you're going in my note" lmao
oh also sometimes i just ask my parents if i can buy a gun or some other dangerous implement

It feels nice to joke about it though because when you're always living with the thoughts in your head it's nice to get them out in ways that can feel silly, much better than me just leaving them in there I tinks :3

not often unless im with someone else who makes those kinds of jokes, because otherwise people tend to be judgmental. and they never try to offer actual help or suggestions or anything for the suicidal thoughts or even ask if you are okay. they just go 'no! stop! bad!". and while i get why some may be sensitiev to the topic and not want to hear those jokes, i think they should say, 'i am sensitive to the topic and do not want to hear those jokes' instead of 'you are bad for using humor to cope with what you went through.'

I only say I wanna die when something inconvenient happens, but that's a socially acceptable expression. I don't joke any more than that cause I'm scared people gonna see through me

I don't have any friends to make jokes too. I also don't talk to my family. I kind of just answer with only "Good" "Yeah" "No" and they don't even notice. They talk a lot.

I'm lucky I don't have friends.
1. There's less people I'll hurt when I CTB
2. They make it harder to commit to CTB
3. It's work to maintain a friendship

I often make them in my head but I never share them.
People around me already went through death from people they loved by suicide so I don't want to make them uncomfortable.
Also I don't want them to even think that I am thinking of it or that it's a subject that can exist in my head, because then it plants a seed and they start to pay attention. That thought alone makes me feel very vulnerable and uncomfortable.
