  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I think covid would give me the incentive to end it all quicker tbh. In fact If I was diagnosed with say a terminal illness it would speed things up for me considerably as far as cbt is concerned. But that is just me.

As epidemics go, there are far worse things than COVID: Ebola, typhus, smallpox, meningitis.

I don't fear COVID itself; I fear what few loved ones I have getting it from me and seeing them succumb. I can't bear that.

Coronavirus has given us a glimpse into the true character of society and its not a flattering one.....

I don't understand your reasoning behind this comment. That's like me telling someone I have skin cancer, and them telling me that there are far worse cancers than that...???

It's not a competition!

When COVID started, I was encouraged by the thought of potentially dying from it or having the world end. Been barely hanging on for years and would be nice for it to all end. At the same time, I'm very afraid of the afterlife or the lack of after death so it would be mixed feels for me.

I don't... I was fully vaccinated over a month ago. I still can get infected, but I don't really care about me. Nevertheless, if I do get infected (which I doubt it), I don't want to infect other people.

I think any death by illness is a bad way to go. My father passed from cancer and I've been terrified of dying from any sickness since it's a nightmare to go through. I'd much rather it be instant be it my hand or something else, but I do not want to be aware I am dying

It does sound like a horrible way to die, but I do not fear it. Instead I fear getting debilitating health problems from the virus that torture me and make my life worse.

No. I would welcome it. It's ironic, if you die from COVID you're mourned and people feel bad (for a short time of course), but if you die from ctb, you are considered selfish, crazy and any other derogatory name the assholes can throw at you. Big difference. Mental health (in the US) is considered negative unless of course you are famous. Then it's all over the papers and TV. If you are just an average person you are considered to be just some crazy asshole who didn't really deserve to live anyway. I hate this world and the people in it.

It's really sad how it is. Even if a person is 75 years old, childless, no spouse, no friends, no relatives, some people will still call them selfish.

"people feel bad (for a short time of course)". That is unfortunately really true, especially in my family. Whenever a relative/pet/anyone/friend dies, I feel sad for years, meanwhile all my other relatives react like robots. They are all "Oh well, everyone dies someday, they are in a better place now" and move on as if the death of a person or beloved pet was just a slight inconvenience and nothing more.

I wonder if it's a culture thing, an area thing, a generational thing, a "family thing" or if they really are just psychopaths. When I'm on the Internet, I meet people who are still depressed and sad because their hamster died 12 years ago, but the people around here where I live all seem like they wouldn't care if their whole family died in a car accident today. They would of course be sad about the car, imagine losing a car that costed 2000€.

As for the topic, no, but I want a peaceful, pleasant death.

I think the world has gone to hell in a hand basket. People just don't care about each other anymore. When my Dad died, his wife remarried within two weeks - yes two weeks. Bitch. I found her going through his things throwing everything out the day he died. When my little girl died, her step-father (who killed her) was laughing in her bedroom with one of his friends talking about cleaning out the room and making it his "man cave." I can't live in a world where people don't care about each other any more.
