What's best to use to stop the bottom of the BBQs burning the tent please?

I'm a member of Peaceful Pill and have the handbook. There is a video where a man has an old car in the woods. He makes one of those co generators with a PVC jar with lid, inside is a smaller jar, and to mix the two acids he pulls out a small stick to allow the one acid to drip into the other acid. He measures the amount of co in the car with a meter and you can't see the reading on it since the video is so terribly pixelated.

That video is so frustrating. For example, how does the gas escape from the device? In reality the way it's set up it might explode as he makes no mention of any way for the gas to escape from the jars. If you mix those acids up in a closed jar, you need some way for it to escape. Why are they so haphazard when they make these devices and videos? He says the small device will generate off the scale amounts of co in seconds and you will be dead in minutes, which simply isn't believable.

I've watched about 3 videos on making co on youtube. Every one of them uses heat to get the mixture of the two acids to produce co. One guy holds a lighter under the reaction chamber, in his case a test tube. When he stops holding a lighter under it, it stops making co. He then holds his lighter under the test tube and it again makes co. If you are interested do a youtube search for making carbon monoxide.

I know myself well and would probably take off the mask, possibly while I'm semi conscious. I have a very strong SI. So I have ruled that out, for myself.

Portable generators are said to have 85000ppm of CO in their exhaust. I am surprised that people haven't used them as an exit as much as people used cars when they didn't have catalytic converters. I have read that without CATs cars exhaust had 45000 ppm of CO.

I'm wondering what I'm missing, too

In a scenario that that model does not have a detector, it will work? I just have to switch it on indoors and let nature take its course?

There have been lots of deaths like that, most accidental. They are incredibly loud and would be ear splitting to be near. I don't know how people have put them in the trunk of their car running but a few have done that. The noise I mean for me would be unbearable.

I see. I figured a good pair of headphones might elevate that by a little. What I'm worried about is my neighbors hearing it.

Damn, there's got to be a way to ctb from carbon monoxide that isn't so complicated. Has anybody thought about buying an old car?

I think I'm close to deciding that this will be my method of choice. But I live in a small country so there's no nature for me to walk into to set up tents, and I don't exactly want to do it in a car. I would prefer to lie down in bed, at an Airbnb or hotel somewhere maybe. But some questions. If I buy charcoal (right? not coal?), how much of this would I need? And since smoke would be an issue, do I need to open the windows? How do make sure there are no CO detectors and wouldn't regular smoke detectors be an issue?

Do a little bit more research on this method.

Yes, you use charcoal. What you do, is you burn it OUTSIDE, then wait for all the smoke to stop, and for all the charcoal to turn white. THEN you take it inside.

An airbnb is a good idea, but doing it in a big room is a bad idea. Doing it inside of a smallish bathroom would work. You could lay down in the bathtub. You could put blankets and pillows in the bathtub to make it comfortable.

So you burn the charcoal outside. Then after the coals turn white, you bring them into the bathroom. THEN you close the bathroom door, and wait OUTSIDE OF THE BATHROOM for carbon monoxide to build up in the bathroom. Use a towel to block the bottom of the bathroom door outside, so CO doesn't leak. Wait 30-40 minutes. Then you go into the bathroom, and use a towel to block the bottom of the bathroom door inside, so CO doesn't leak. Lay down in the bathtub, close your eyes, and drift off into eternal bliss.

CO detectors look just like smoke detectors. If you see either, just open them, and take out the batteries. If they're hooked up to the electrical system, and there's wires plugged into it - just jerk the god damned things out of the wall. Break them with a hammer, fuck it.

The amount you should use for a small-ish bathroom is 2 pounds, to be safe. You can use 3 pounds, too, if you're feeling frisky. If you want to be overkill, use 4 pounds!

I hope I've helped.

Thank you so much. I was actually looking into this because this was a Kpop singer's method. Like him, I live in a city. He had rented an apartment so I wondered how he managed to burn charcoals outside without drawing attention (even doing it on a balcony would have drawn a lot of attention) and I think he was in his bedroom, not the bathroom. I wish I could find out more details about his method.

Carbon monoxide goes through walls and ceilings. So there is a chance of killing your neighbors if you live in an apartment. Also, people have died who find the one who is ctb'g. So you have to put large warning signs on the doors and windows when you do this.

Are you sure about that? From all the reports I've read of people dying this way in their apartments, they never mention the neighbors dying too.

I guess it depends on what the walls are made from? If they're brick it would seem unlikely, plaster board, who knows?

Hi, how do people avoid generating lots of smoke when lighting a charcoal burner? My neighbours are always alert to anything going on in my property and I don't want them appearing over the fence if I tried to light it outside. I know there are small smokeless charcoal grills - has anyone tried them out?

Thank you.

You definitely want to start it outside the car, get it when a ember low fire state. That's when the CO is producing highest amount.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I want to die in my bed. Also people are very alert round here for any smoke/fire (I live in countryside where we've had problems with wildfires).

Keep in mind that will be dangerous for others in building and will set off detector.

Thank you for pointing this out. I should be ok in that regard as I live in a detached house so that shouldn't be a problem.

How do you guys think the singer did it? He was in a city apartment in a densely populated area. That means full of neighbors. So does that mean he burned them out in some balcony first then placed them in his room? Wouldn't it so smoky though?

Ok I think I'm finally ready. I have a huge bag of Royal Oak, two grills, natural wood starter balls and I'm renting a 9' cargo van. Got a lot of tape to seal it up and some plastic tarp to seal off the driver's compartment. I feel like a jerk doing it in a rental van but I don't want to ruin my car so my wife/family can sell it. I have a decent spot picked out that I hope no one sees the grill smoke from. Thank you for all of the info in this thread I've read it all several times and I think I've got enough knowledge to succeed. Two more days and I'll know for sure.

If doing this inside an apartment, could I get a tent and cover the tent with plastic layers to prevent the CO from reaching the neighbors? a

Looking to attempt this method soon. Need to learn how to light it up correctly if I could test if I'm getting proper co levels. I might rent a car then do it and plan my remote location.

Hi, this will be the megathread for the carbon monoxide method.

I have some questions about the charcoal method, is it a simple method to do? Like buying charcoal and setting it or there is some steps and setup to follow

The ppeh gives low rating for preparation but good rating for reliability, peacefulness and quickness
Doesn't work, or didn't for me , bought charcoal burnt it sat in very small room with it , didn't do anything but affect my eyes
