I know the cat is out of the bag now for current users but I think going forward the new private section is best unadvertised. Let it just appear as a nice surprise when people become eligible, and the rest of the forum carry on mostly unaware of it. That should result in any "division" fading away over time as the current crop of new users who feel left out become eligible and the next batch aren't aware of it to begin with. Would seem to allow all the advantages of the private section while limiting the downside.

Yes that probably would've been the best way to roll it out in the first place.
It was pretty obvious it would cause 'division'.
I think like most things on here the storm will have blown over in another day or two as something else will crop up to take centre stage

If you do not understand the difference between setting and enforcing rules, and selling private data to third parties, I do not know what to tell you.

I have one question.
I experienced that some countries shadow banned this site from your search results (Happening on search engine providers such as DuckDuckGo, Yandex Search and Google).
What are S.S. Staff/Owner(s) plans/solutions for that problem?
Will be there any sub-domains that will redirect people to this site or will this "issue" be completely ignored?

This whole thing kinda sucks since this will prevent this Forum from getting new members since most people use search engines to find this kind of sites.
For example I found this Forum through duckduckgo while doing a reasearch about something that I don't want to talk about.

Re feeling excluded and divisions in the "community"...it's all the same to me as this place is hardly a community. Some forums probably are but to me this one is not. There are a couple of people whose friendship I've come to value and several whose conduct falls on the other end of the spectrum, all tolerated by everything in between so no, nothing here for me really. I definitely do not invest emotion into this place at this point so the subforum doesn't bother me at all.

Well another thing for which I am not qualified, I am not enough or I do not exist, I know that the creation of the secret forum is for security and I understand it but I would like to say that I have more than 200 posts but like many here, I think that nobody usually cares what I have to say so I can not contribute to that, also I have been here since 2019 so I guess it does not matter how reliable you are in a matter of time If you don't have to give more, I don't know what else I can give, I have nothing of value, and by this I mean that literally I'm not worth anything else, I hope the chosen ones do well and well I'll still be here as a ghost, although It's a shame because I've read the posts and I see that many also feel that way, hugs! I wish we didn't have visible post counts and react scores, nor a ranking page. All that has always felt inappropriate and uncomfortable to me on this, a suicide forum. I personaly frigging hate that mine can be seen and that I've "risen" to the second top poster; I just want to fucking talk to people before I fucking die because I'm fucking isolated and have been for an incredibly long time and I really care about people.

@Sherri my tangent is NOT directed at you. This stuff has been churning under the surface and I'm hurting more than usual today so I'm letting it out a bit. I sympathize with your perspective. But, I personally see some value in the react scores.
A lot of people on here feel unappreciated and unseen in their physical lives; many are also totally isolated and without any real-life friendship or companionship. A great deal of lonely people frequent this forum.

These people who may not have a "voice" in their offline world can log on here and see that their contributions to the forum are appreciated by other posters.

The react score offers a tangible source of validation and recognition for people's contributions to the forum. Your viewpoint on the react scores does make sense, but I recognize the value in the scores, even if they are relatively superficial in the end. A score of 2000 on a suicide forum may not hold any real-world meaning beyond the forum, but it does provide a sliver of validation and social acknowledgement for the poster that they may not receive otherwise.

Basically this. If we were given react scores IRL, mine would be in the negatives, as I'm sure probably all of ours would. Knowing atleast some people agree with what I have to say to some extent makes me feel just an ever so tiny bit better. Even if it doesn't matter in the end, still, it's there until we leave SS or time's up.

Agreed. All that stuff doesn't matter that much to me, but it IS nice to know people react well and are even 'following' you. I see 'following' as simply a mark of respect: that you have interacted with someone enough, or have read enough of their posts to be interested in what they have to say. However, I don't tend to use the news feed simply because it's a bit awkward and then gives preference to those followed over everyone else.
I don't think there is anything wrong with enjoying feeling validated, especially if you feel no-one listens IRL. However, I do think it can become an issue if you begin to become dependent on getting 'likes.' If being validated becomes more important then the actual interaction then I'd consider that as potentially being a mal-adapted coping strategy. Same with any social media.

It's not even just me. I just made the mistake of going there to confront them on their flawed 'facts' on that platform.
Boy did I not realize I would never get a proper conversation from them.

They post screenshots from more people than just me. From people still here, and people who have already CTB'd. They insult those WHO ARE ALREADY GONE.

They just want to twist words and find any little detail that may somehow in their minds make them feel like they're right. It's an echo chamber of threats and bullying. There's some people from SS being rude on twitter to them. No excuses for that. But to straight up childishly insult people who are near death already is just a new low... protect the vulnerable? My a** lol.

Anyway. I wasn't sure if I should have come back at all. I don't even care if they have a big following or not, at all. I DO NOT like my sadness, agony and grief being used to mock a community of wonderful people, who just want a choice in life that have been pushed to feel this way, a place to talk openly without being condemned to the ward. I get it's a public forum, but I know myself, and many others, are likely to get turned away because of this situation.

Which is why I think a break from public eyes would be good for many of us. I do feel bad for the genuine new members though...

You're really not missing anything. I spend most of my time out here, anyway, and I think the majority of "secret club" members do, too. This is where the meat and potatoes are.

Just sharing what I think;

You will see that my bad English is one reason I don't write much here. But it is just one of the reasons. Like some other members have said, I don't feel like I have much to share. I'm not great mind, I have nothing new or different to say. Other people usually say things better (I get that being able to like people's post can lead to game where some just want to achieve more likes, but for person like me, it is nice way to give thumb up, heart or something else as a response because I'm not going to write a reply) and I can like it.

I've been here a while, I'm not sure how people determine have you been here only short time or long. Some people come and leave fast, some people have been here for ages. That said, I get that some long lasting member with lots of messages might become an target to outsiders, but I has to say this one too; I'm not telling people that if they've been here long there must be something wrong with them ( Planning to ctb, that can be count as a flaw by some people but not me :D). I'm not pointing out anyone but some members who have been here long have acted the way that I've felt unsafe for sake of others (I'm not worried about myself). So, lots of posts and ancient joining day does not always mark for safe users but I get that most likely it might mean one. But a bit predatory or other way not-okay behaviour might be more easily accepted when it comes from someone who has been here for a while, have posted a lot or/and has lots of likes/followers. Not to mention if that act happens in that "elite club" like has been said.

Someone also pointed out, that the rest are left here to battle against those things moderators try to save some members from.

I know things are not black and white so it is not easy to find the best solutions. And the very best solution would still not be perfect because this is not a perfect world anyway.

Of course I'm unhappy that I didn't get qualified, I'm not denying that. And it saddens me that I most likely won't make it there. Why? Look at my number of messages. I guess I'm just supposed to stop whining and start posting but that is not really me and I have to accept the consequences (or lack of them because of lack of actions). But before this I felt like being part of the community. Silent but part anyway. It might sounds weird, like I'm a stalker, but the more I've read the more I will learn new members here, I might remember someone's account name, or spot this same nice avatar again ("I remember I liked what they wrote before too" etc). For example I thank in my mind a member who passed away before I even joined here. But I was reading her post a lot and thanks to her posts I kind of felt safe to join (just for a record; she didn't encourage me to do anything suicidal by her writing, only gave me an impression this is nice community. I've got support here and that is what I was after), In a way I could see that people who have been more vocal here might feel better if their messages are invisible for members like me. In that sense I get it, but it feels a bit bad if I'm exluded out only because being silent and therefore being "potential god knows what" since that subforum wasn't made because of trolls.
