So this is what this forum has become now? Making fun of a distressed teenager who is suicidal? I know you all think he/she's a troll and that makes it ok. But what if he/she is not? What if he/she is actually on the edge and poking fun at him pushes him to do something rash? I joined this forum because of the compassion I saw from so many members and it's helped me to stay instead of CTB'ing. Why are we resorting to ridicule no matter what OP's motives are? :(

The "distressed teenager" is on a website full of resources for successful ctb and he started a thread about ibuprofen. I am willing to bet all I have that it's a troll.
So then why bother to respond at all? What if you're wrong? You get a laugh and a teenager suffers. Is that who you are? If he/she is a troll just leave it alone and they'll go away since they aren't getting the response they're after.

Just please be careful with what you're doing. Keep talking here and listening to the compassionate people. You'll get through this but if you choose to CTB you'll be supported too.

I thought you'd be in a hospital after that 1 ambien and a diazepam mixed simultaneously... fighting to stay alive after your suicide attempt.
But you seem super-naturally strong, so you didn't even hesitate to add asparagus (plus rotten) on top of that deadly cottage cheese...
I took a line of H today... together with 40g of sugar (the white killer) dissolved in a can of the carcinogenic Coca-Colla.
Still breathing though... I might go for a can and a half next time.

I've been on them since 2019 and they mostly stopped working a week after i was out of the hospital I told my parents but they didn't say much
When did you get out of hospital?

You said no pills. Did you mean OTC, or all pills ever? Because I read it as all pills ever, hence my loss for words.
If you meant OTC, it's possible with a couple different ones but exceedingly rare to succeed and far more likely to end up with severe effects and potential long-term damage.

Well, I basically meant OTC medicines (as OP supposedly "attempted" with ibuprofen and melatonin - on separate occasions), and my instructions in this particular case had to be straightforward and easily understandable.
But even if we take into account "all" pills, which single kind would work by itself?
Oxycodone, as an opioid? Tramadol? Those opiates would be the closest to a possible OD. But would still be overwhelmingly improbable.
Even opioids would have to be mixed with something else.
Quite recently several newcomers have posted about their failed "attempts" with trying to OD on pills, or asked for advice about the same 'method'.
Their ignorance seems so advanced that it shocks me how they don't even try to research the topic a little prior to attempting to take own life.
I was trying to address that with my sentence which you quoted. They all should know that OD-ing on pills would not do the job and is in "practice" almost impossible. Technically, perhaps my point is not 100% accurate, but is 98% applicable, and going into those 2% of a statistical error would just confuse those newcomers more.
All of us who are more experienced here never even consider OD'ing on pills, because we know it simply doesn't work.
If you know of a brand of medicines/pills which would have the best odds for success (taken by itself), please share.

I told her/him that I was just joking a bit and did not mean any harm, s/he liked my posts, so I assumed s/he did not take anything personally or felt offended.
We have new troll accounts popping up regularly, so my first guess was that this person was trolling. Posts about OD-ing on melatonin or ibuprofen, on a resource-packed website seem like trolling. Maybe I am just cynical.
Yeah, my joke posts ( that I qualified as such and OP liked them) are going to drive them to do "something rash" and try to ctb impulsively.

While I can't say it is a troll for certain, I can say these are absolutely not serious attempts at ctb or even a serious attempt at self harm, if this were real.

Idk about others, but when I was in hospital I learned what sort of a dose or what med could do damage to me.. you talk to people right?
