As it turns out, Alibaba is more than happy to sell meto. And I mean the Chinese are creepily excited about this stuff - while eBay seemingly removed all evidence of meto's existence, I've seen a guy selling meto powder, claiming minimum order of 1kg!
The issue, of course, is that Chinese online shops are often less than stellar about validity and honesty. I'm torn: on the one hand, it's the Chinese, on the other hand, meto...

These clearnet chinese guys used to very commonly send the wrong type of synthetic opiate to people who were interested in such things before the ban, i'm not sure if they killed anyone but it was certainly possible with the discrepancy between what was ordered and received; I wouldn't trust them to send me the right type of salt being honest. Obviously sometimes it works out okay, though, depends on the chemical (especially if it has undesirable or inactive isomers).
