Discussion Would you die for anyone? (Family, friends, pets, etc.)

I would throw my life away for anyone I love, I've always been like this and will die with this belief, I always try my best to help others

No… Unfortunately not.

The more difficult question is- 'Will you carry on living for the people in your life?'

Yes, this question is indeed very difficulty to answer, especially is one who is very suicidal and considering doing it every day is asked such a question. There isn't really any guarantee that anyone would do so if the people in their lives had been horrible to them. If they haven't been such a bad person and maybe if they had started treating them better recently then theres a chance that someone would stay alive, in hopes of getting better. But if they want to ctb without a doubt its their decsision.

Now, I assume everyone here is very suicidal and they would do anything to ctb. That's why we're here after all. People just didn't treat us like humans and we are now like this. But, if you still have any close family members who you still feel love towards, or even friends, would you die for them? Let's say they were diagnosed with a terminal illness and they would die soon. This is a stupid thing to say but if you could, would you die so they can live. If so, who?

I'll start. I have a group of friends who are very dear to me, although they don't know of this yet. If one of them was diagnosed with an illness that would end with their death, i would die for them in a heartbeat. We aren't friends in real life but rather we are online friends but I tend to get attached to people very easily so that is why I respect them. Considering from the way they speak, how they socialize and just talk about their future, I think they would have a much better life than i ever would so they deserve to live more than me. They can enjoy the things that they assume life has to offer even though they're very wrong but it is completely up to them if whether they want to live or die. There is also a stray cat outside, I love it very much but it lost its trust in me after getting neutered and i would die for it as well if it ever ended up in any situation that would kill it.

Lastly, I know it is stupid to say something like this but i'd like to know if anyone here still loves anyone in their lives, it could be anyone, no judging. Of course, dying for someone would never happen but lets say we're in a reality where it is possible.

If it's for my best friend yes, as a bonus if it's painless a double yes and if my death is 100% guaranteed then a triple yes.

I'd die for a stranger. I'd go through cancer. Let someone who really wants to live have that opportunity. I've lived long enough.

I'd die for my family, wife, and the few friends I have. On the other side of it though I'd live for my wife. The one person I'd continue this horrible existence for.

yes many people, i wish to take the place of any terminally ill person
ideally i would have taken the place of one of my cats so she could continue living.

Yes. For anyone and everyone. I've never seen dying for someone as this huge deal media tends to portray it as though. On one hand part of that is how desensitized I am to the idea of dying. On the other it's just one act. After that you're done. Personally it's always seemed like a bigger deal to show up every day or just be a participant in someone's life because it's a longer, more sustained effort.

When I was 5 and my hamster died, I really felt like dying. But yeah I'm older now and don't have any pets. If there's some human or animal that I really really cared for and felt connection with and they died, yes I'd die for them. As of now, I don't honestly hold anyone that dearly. Not even my own mother. I would feel sad over her absence and feel guilt or regret maybe somehow feeling responsible. But no, my mother or anyone else has not been my strength to keep on living. I feel completely disconnected and misunderstood by the world.

i think i would die for my brother a hundred times if i needed to. if you asked me a few years ago i would have died for any of my friends.

Dying for people is easy, especially for those you care about. Living for them is a whole nother thing :P
