Just want to check my understanding of some of the table values, e.g., the L50 for a 175lb person is 5953 5mg tablets of hydrocodone and 253 200mg tablets of Advil? It seems like I've read that hydrocodone is on of the leading causes of fatal overdoses and I just wonder where one would get that much of a controlled substance. Am I reading this correctly? Thx, JC
I have a similar concern about the op's claim. Considering all the press about fatal oxycodone ODs, how is it possible that (according to his chart) it would be easier to CTB with tramadol (a much weaker opioid) or even tylenol? Various online sources say that for an average person, 80mg of oxycodone would be a lethal dose. At 5mg per pill, that's only 16 pills, not TWO THOUSAND!
Clarification of this seemingly extreme misinformation would be greatly appreciated.

For fluoxetine it wasn't even surprising because I remember I tried to overdose and it didn't have an effect on me. Seeing the numbers is just wild though and that's if I don't throw up on taking them.

I have seen a range of dosages suggested in these threads but the ones suggesting thousands of MG of hydrocodone seem out of line. From what I've been able to see on various search engines, a fatal dose of hydrocodone can vary significantly depending on several factors, including a person's tolerance, age, weight, general health, and whether the individual is using other substances (such as alcohol or benzodiazepines). Generally, for someone without a tolerance to opioids, doses over 50 mg could be dangerous, and anything higher could be life-threatening. Hydrocodone is considered a potent opioid, and taking it in large amounts can lead to respiratory depression, coma, or death. It's essential to only use hydrocodone as prescribed by a healthcare provider and never exceed the recommended dosage. The following one table I found.
Total Oral DoseEst. Blood LevelRisk
10 mg (1 tab)~0.25–0.3 mgTherapeutic
20 mg~0.6 mgStill typically safe
40–60 mg~1.2–1.8 mgPossibly dangerous in sensitive individuals
80–120+ mg2.5–4+ mgLethal zone for many, especially with other drugs

So: It would likely take at least 8–12 tablets (80–120 mg) taken all at once to reach lethal levels—and often more.

Another factor to consider is that alcohol acts as an "accelerant" for virtually any opiods.

Apologies for being so wordy.
