• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Didn't end up in a pych ward <3

Made this, wanted to share
Shared in the mega recovery thread -- feel free to join in x

For those who don't frequent that thread
Curious what your "safety" plans are SaSu members on this side of the forum

My Safety Plan
Name: NZKiwi
Plan Completed with: My best friend in the car after the appointment

1. WHAT IS MAKING ME WANT TO END MY LIFE
Dysregulation 2nd to rejection/inability to tollerate uncertaility/loss of hope in the future

2. I KNOW I'M NOT SAFE WHEN
What are my warning signs/truggers? What are my body cues? What am I thinking? How do I feel?
Paranoia
Not sleeping
Engaging actively with suicide side of this website
Buying/ordering what I need to kill myself

3. MY REASONS TO LIVE
What are my things worth living for
Obligation to lived ones
Not wanting to look like I have BPD and attention seeking
? Future work and relationships
? Hedonistic experiences

4. THINGS I CAN DO TO GET THROUGH THIS
What can I do to distract myself? What can I do to occupy my time when I feel this way?
Work
Discussion in the recovery side of sanctioned suicide
Exercise/Run/Swim/Bike
Read Book
[The start up I'm working on]
Spend time with friends

5. WHAT CAN OTHERS DO TO HELP ME GET THROUGH THIS
Include Whanau / supports
Company
Activities
Checking in
Trust what i say first time

6. PEOPLE AND PLACES I CAN CONNECT WITH
Who do you feel good around? Who do you like being with? What can you do togeather
1. Bestfriend x2 + their fiance
2. 4 other closes friends
3. 1 more friend but they are hard to contact (leaving out names lol

7. MAKING MYSELF AND MY ENVIRONEMNT SAFE
What ways have I thought about ending my life: Physical + Chemical
Do I have access to them / where are these now: Not currently
How will we remove these /reduce access so I can be safe: Don't order them
** I think I might add suicide side of these forums to my adlocker on my phone and laptop (can explain later)
Who can do this: Me
Who will I call to check this has been done? When will they do this? Friends/Public health care service, tell them

Underlying Drivers/Stressors to work on and resolve:
Desensitisation of suicidal ideation
No North start

hope all is well <3
will try to reply to posts when I have a bit more energy, very tired rn, long day
thank you for being a safe space for me <3

I don't have a specific safety plan written down. I think that I just have more of an internalised one due to understanding some elements of first responder medicine and hearing mad human survival stories (unrelated to CTB). Its this that has stopped me from acting impulsively. Knowing that anything other than death is probably way worse. So not worth the risk as such. But then Sasu brought me more insight into actual viable methods and what might have better odds of succeeding and also confirming that suicide generally is 'best' (bad word choice I know) attempted with significant planning and preparation in place - or from a place of extreme mental illness and despair and fear e.g psychosis or similar. So far I have been able to trust that even in frantic/impulsive moments, I seem to have enough of 'logic brain' kicking about to stop me from doing any half baked attempts. Even now having SN, I am less likely to impulsively take it because I won't be fasted and don't have the associated protocol meds.

But in said frantic/impulsive times, I can often quickly spiral because I feel like I'm already maxed out on coping strategies or distractions. But equally, ironically, I get so upset and consumed in being annoyed about having done everything yet now feeling bad that it becomes a distraction in itself!!

I'm glad your lived experience in healthcare is a protective factor

Curious how we are incline to have significant planning and preperation to kill our selves, but not neccisarily the opposite ie safety plan

Even now having SN
Gently suggesting, how do you think about the idea about slowly increasing the distance between yourself and SN
... this is trickle down safety planning from my current interaction with the public mental health system in NZ haha but this is the internet so do what you want friend :P

feeling bad that it becomes a distraction in itself
you have great insight!

huh, that's pretty neat~ :) tbh, I totally forgot these were a thing~ xD Anyways, I don't wish to make one personally~

Regardless, congrats on not having to be sent to the psych ward~ ^_^ I hope you're feeling a bit better or more stable at least~ :) and best of luck on your start-up too! :D I hope you succeed in it~ ^_^ books are nice too! :) altho, when I'm feeling bad enough, they really aren't distracting compared to pure unconsciusness~ >~< just wondering, did you make it with your mental health team or did you make it on your own for them? :)

I think I'm a little bit older/boring and self directed so they gave it to me as homework
Traditionally they make the plan with you during the session

I don't wish to make one personally
May I ask why?

ah, oki! :) makes sense~ ^_^ glad you could take care of it! :)

I'd like to keep my SN the next time I get it~ >_< and I don't really wish to live when I wish to die~ :( I already have enough things pushing me to stay around in spite of everything else already anyways~ >_<

hehe~ thank you and you're welcome! :)
