  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

People are always like but he gave free will and so what?
If you think about it, you see how ridiculously doctored the whole thing is: God created the earth. Then he creates every human being in his image, just to place this human being on the earth to let them pass a test if the free will he gave them is good enough to allow them into heaven. If God is almighty, he wouldn't need to test his own creations. If he is omniscient, he would already know the outcome...

It's basically just something to keep people going, even through the darkest pain.

Basically a 2,000+-year-old version of Netflix and Instagram.

What if we turn it around? I consider myself neither almighty nor omniscient, so why not let me "test" the earth? Anyone is placed here, anyone is given (at least some) time to find out if they like it here or not. And if they don't, they can choose to quit. A religion based on the right to die.

I worry there is a god. Say death isn't the end and we have to exist with this asshole in-between lives. If I could be guaranteed oblivion I would go now. The whole setup is shit and I don't want to live, I don't want this supposed gift. I'm just living because I'm afraid of dying. I think perhaps it's a case of better the devil you know. It's no way to live but what else can I do?
If you're worried about what's in store for you in the next life (specifically Christianity) then for most people it's hell. Only way to avoid such a fate is to repent and accept forgiveness. I believe in this myself, but I'm probably the unpopular opinion. If what atheists say is true then "If the dead are not raised...Eat, drink, and party for tommorow we die" Corinthians 15:32.
If you truly believe life is pointless and there is no afterlife then do whatever you want. However if you believe that there is a more to life and an afterlife I would try to make peace.

These are my opinions and I merely am voicing them. I don't mean to offend anyone.

I'm not sure what the man upstairs plan is. I'm sure even if I was told it I couldn't comprehend it. Christianity is a faith based religion, so you just have to put your trust in the big G. As for free will it's "Free will" with an *. If we are going off the bible after Adam and Eve were tempted into eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil their offspring were cursed to have a sinful nature. Which means by default we are prone to sin. He tested his creations because he already knew that they would sin. It's all a plan to glory. I know this sounds silly, but who is the pot to question the sculpter.

I respect everyone else's opinions, but I just wanted to voice my take on Christianity.

Do any of you believe in anything? Doesn't matter what. And if so, what?
I used to believe in other dimensions existing, so in other words, reincarnation. That thought terrified me for most of my life. Starting all over again from lvl 0, imagine. That aside, I don't believe in anything, I don't even believe in myself.

I don't belive in anything besides probitly and random chance. Every thing is just a causeation with a reaction. The basically butterfly effect.

This world is a reincarnation prison for spirits to extract as much suffering from them as possible

In most religions we are in for hell when we die, especially by suicide. I would say we are living in hell already. We are born here with nothing, far away from the light and the love. We are supposed to have faith? In what? Some fairy story made up by people who lived long ago. From what I have seen and experienced in my life there is nothing. None of us has been given anything .Life has been engineered and sustained by a creator but that creator likely thinks nothing of us. There are a billion planets in our galaxy and there are a billion other galaxies. Do you really think we have any significance?

Well if the son of the creator walked this planet and said he cares about us and that his father cares about us... Then we must have some significance right? I mean if we were made in his image we must matter to him right? If we sinned against him and he still loves us we must matter right.

I can't answer every question the universe has to offer, but if you have need answers about life I recommend the bible as a good place to start.

This is my opinion please don't get upset if we have a disagreement (This applies to everyone. As I am aware that I am of the unpopular opinion around here)

Edit: I'm also not here to debate or question the validity of the bible. I'm merely voicing my opinion.

This is a good discussion, if people get offended then that's their problem. Your talking about Jesus. Someone who supposedly existed over 2'000 years ago. We have no real proof of this just anecdotal stories. I have read the Bible. The Bible has been copied, paraphrased and translated thousands of times. It's not any kind of evidence. Say it's true, the son of the creator walked this planet. If God cares so much explain history? The death, the suffering, the misery, the war, the famine, the pandemics. Where is Gods love in this carnage? 700'000 people a year take their own life at present. No loving being is in control of this butchery.
