I think in my case I would bet that my future is more hopeless. I can see some somewhat realistic scenarios how the world can do damage control to all the things that happen.
Moreover, the world has managed so many crises in the past. And it recovered. There is a lot of scientiifcal progress.
Personally, I also have been through a lot of crises but actuallly I am still in a pretty bad shape. Compared to an average mentally ill patient. And the structural problems of my life accumulate without being able to actually solve my major issues. I am like a deer in the spotlight. I just freeze. And actually fighting against the odds also almost drove me to kill myself. So I just have to give up and accept my fate.
