Challenge 88: Share a favourite screenshot from a videogame
I don't know about you, but I've been struggling to fully complete the challenges that require daily consistency.
I think this is partly because I've been feeling really down these past couple of weeks, but this has made me want to do more one-day tasks that don't need as much commitment.

Goal:
Find a screenshot you took that you find funny/interesting/memorable and post it here. You can include context or a short story if you feel like it too.

Hope you'll enjoy this one,
and have a nice day!
This is old, but I couldn't resist sharing this (just look at it sideways)

Challenge 92: Draw your favorite fictional character

This week's challenge is a throwback all the way to challenge number 1. – "Draw a Pokemon". There hasn't been a drawing challenge in a while, so I figured I could take inspiration from the one that started this thread.

As always, it isn't mandatory to post what you create, but I really look forward to seeing any works that are shared!

View attachment 20251228_221608.jpgThis is what I've made so far in the past two days. I should've started earlier, then it would be finished; but I'll keep working on it and post again when it's done.
I just wanted to put something up about it this week to hopefully encourage others.

Challenge 93: Productivity Currency

For the past 1-2 days, I've been trying a different method to increase the amount of time I spend working – directly linking the time I spend playing videogames to the time I spend working. This means I shouldn't play more than I work, and this has proven a mostly useful strategy.

Goal:
Start the day by doing something productive; this can be anything from working on a project, reading, exercising, spending time with someone important… you decide. Time how many minutes are spent on that activity (or just generally look at the clock when you start and finish) – that's how much time you have to do whatever else you want.
You can play videogames, go to sleep, doesn't matter… you are allowed to take a break for as long as you had spent working before. When the break time ends, you have to earn more by doing more work.

Try to do this each day of the week if possible!
This has been helping me out the past few days,
hope it helps you too!

Welcome to the weekly challenge thread!

How this works: Each week I will try to post a challenge. Challenges are open to anyone who wishes to take them up. The intention of the challenges is to give us all a bit of motivation. Maybe push us to try something we might not normally try and to get involved in an activity that we can share with others.

Rules: There are no strict rules only informal guidelines.
Challenges are open to your own interpretation so feel free to be as creative as you want and do as little or as much as you want. You are welcome to adapt the challenge to suit your own needs and requirements.
Challenges should be completed by the end of the week but this is not strict, if you see an old challenge you want to do, by all means show us. If you are a couple of days late, who cares?
Proof of completing challenges is welcome but not neccesary. I will try to post evidence such as a photo but if you want to just write that you completed it and say what you did then great. Also challenges will differ in nature so the nature of the evidence may change but please be aware not to dox yourself if this is an issue for you.

Challenge Submissions: I doubt I will be able to maintain coming up with a new challenge every week so if yo have any ideas for a challenge please submit them to me via pm and I will consider using them. This is also welcome as I would like to get other peoples perspectives on how they want to challenge people, not only my own.

Challenge 94:
Sorry I couldn't post in time, I was away the previous week and only arrived home in the evening, exhausted.
This is something I've been wanting to put together for a few weeks, so not having had time to develop any other ideas, I've decided to use it now.

I put together a simple crossword puzzle that I hope isn't too difficult. I suggest refraining from the use of search engines at first.

I apologise for my absence last week; I was more exhausted than usual and didn't have the energy to post.

Challenge 95: Practice gratitude

This week's goal is to take some time out of a day and reflect on the things you are grateful for, think about what contributes to happiness and relieves your stress.
This can be an object of comfort, people in your life, access to a specific resource, a community, or anything that makes your life somewhat easier.

Name two of these things (though you can more if you wish) and share them here in as little or as much detail as you'd like!

i'm grateful i've gotten to my passion of acting, i get to be in more then one acting thing next semester and i am looking forward to that. when i do acting i feel very free from all my worries. and when people watch acting, they can get lost in the story and feel free from their worries too. i wish more of my life could just be theatre.

i'm grateful for my best friend. they are a really caring person and supportive and i love them. they try really hard to help me and i appreciate them a lot. they are really funny and talented too and they like a lot of the same things as me (and have gotten me into a lot of things that i love including a current special interest and much of the music i listen to). i'm so lucky to know them.

I only ever practiced theatre briefly, but I think I understand what you mean. When you get to become somebody else, you feel distant from your own problems, but also from the ones of your character, because you're not really them. It's like you don't have anything to worry about.
For me, acting was a way to express certain parts of myself that I couldn't under normal circumstances.
I'm glad you're able to pursue your passion!

What I'm most grateful for in my entire life is a person I met not too long ago. They have been the first in an immense amount of time to genuinely care about me and the things I have to say.
I met them in person, but we're not able to see each other anymore; still, we talk every single day, video chatting when possible until we're able to reconvene in the future, which we will – that is one of the only things I'm looking forward to.
Despite not being able to feel much from an online connection, I am incredibly thankful for them. I wouldn't have anything nearly as meaningful in my life if they hadn't made the decision to talk to me in the first place.

The second thing is my health. I don't think about it often, but I make an effort to remind myself to appreciate having a healthy body. It allows me to partake in the activities that bring me joy, interact with the people I love, and help ground me in the physical world; even if it isn't always as I would like it to be.
I am grateful for its existence and for the things it allows me to feel, so I will try my best to refrain from harming it in the future.

I'm grateful that one of my friends invited me to a concert. The fact that I have someone who wants to spend time with me makes me feel a bit better and eases my suffering :)

I'm also grateful that I found SaSu. I've been a long time lurker, but I didn't make an account until recently and I've already met some lovely people <3

Challenge 96: The New York Times games

Nytimes icon filled 256
You've probably played, or at least heard of Wordle. It's a game by the New York Times where you have to guess a word that gets updated each day, so every day there's a new word to guess.
But did you know the New York Times has many other games besides Wordle? Including more letters and numbers to play around with.

Goal:
This week's challenge is to go on the New York Times website every day and finish at least two of the games available (for some games you have to subscribe for, but there's plenty accessible if you don't want to).

This game sucks for non-natives. Finnish Wordles are like "pullo" (bottle). English Wordles are always like "WUoiwurwtiojpaie that means coughing in sahara during the 1100s while wearing two hats."

I have no idea what the word is.

EDIT: I used wordlesolver website. It was jumbo. They used to use that word in Finland when advertising but I haven't heard it in years.

I remember solving for "jumbo". Had no idea what it meant, but knew I heard it before.
Niche words like that can be a bit annoying, I'm not a native speaker either, but at least I learned something.

Challenge 97: Community Story
The challenge for this week is to write a story together. This will be a collaborative effort – I have written a short opening to a story that anyone can continue with a 90-200 word segment; however, you may only add one such segment when contributing. The story can be taken in any direction and even ended, but I hope it will be carried on for at least a little bit.

I will make a separate thread in the Recovery Section so it will be easier to follow in the future.
This link should take you there: https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/challenge-97-community-story.232621/

As you may have noticed, I have not posted a challenge for this week. That is because I wanted to take a different approach with the thread moving forward. Just before I started posting weekly challenges, user The Morningstar uploaded a challenge for a month and shared the idea that the level of interaction this thread gets does not warrant a brand new challenge every week. I have come to share this sentiment, so based on their idea, I'm going to be moving away from the typical weekly challenges and instead start working on posting more thought-out challenges once per month (starting on March 1st).
These challenges would require more effort, but there will also be more time available to complete them. There will also be a midway "progress report", where those participating should post what they have created/accomplished with the challenge so far. This is to give incentive to not procrastinate the challenge until the very end of the month (as I know I would).

However, wanting to maintain the theme of weekly tasks, I've come up with the idea of a Weekly Bingo Card™. This would be much like Challenge 89: Bingo Card, except there would be a new card every week that's the same for everyone, filled with simpler tasks that need to be completed over that one week. The goal is to try to get as many bingos as possible by completing the tasks on the spaces.
This card would be randomly generated each week from a list of tasks, with tasks being added over time. I currently don't have too many tasks on the list, but I'm always open to suggestions from anybody!
The list is linked below…

TL;DR – There will be some changes, as follows:

1#- New monthly challenges; Thank you to The Morningstar for the idea
-From now on, on the first day of every month, I will post a more thought-out challenge that takes more energy, but everyone will have a month to complete it.
-Halfway through the month, those taking part should post a "progress report" to share what they did so far.

2#- No more weekly challenges
-Focus will be on the monthly challenges over something brand new each week.

3#- Weekly Bingo Card™
-Every week, instead of a challenge, I will post a randomly generated bingo card, much like Challenge 89.
-The card is randomly generated with tasks from the list below.
-The goal is to fill out the card, trying to get as many bingos as possible by completing the tasks on the spaces during the for which the card is made for.
-Anyone can suggest tasks to be added to the list.

Thanks for the update! I was slightly worried. I'm very curious to what the monthly challenges will be and will definitely be here(or on a new thread?) to participate on the 1st!

As for options for the list perhaps: naming things you are grateful for, complimenting someone, sit outside/notice 5 small things, cook something or make a snack, cleaning a room/space

Here is the first bingo card for this week! (I will count these separately, but the monthly challenges will pick up at 98)
I hope I made it clear how this works, and I have taken the suggestions into account for next time.

Also, I will continue to refine the card and maybe even do custom icons; let me know if you like the direction I'm taking it in!

I also forgot to mention that if you cannot complete one of the spaces for whatever reason (like– you don't have glasses) then you have to repeat the space to the right of the one you can't do. If it's the last space in the line, then move to the next line, and in the last line, go back to space #1.
