As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I did but didn't get very far my machine was too crap for it at the time.
Ah sorry I was thinking of Return to Castle Wolfenstein never tried enemy territory
So do I at times lol--but now with windows having a legit linux subsystem so linux runs like natively on/with windows, I just think of it as an interface too, and I use powershell more than the other shy of simple commands (ex: ping, net user username /domain)I still think of the command prompt as MS DOS
I think I was playing Quake III at that timeLOL No worries.. Wolfensteins all blend together?
ET was/is a blast!
I had an Atari 2600 I think... first model... it came with only the Tanks game. And it was kick ass graphics too! Still blows games today away (honestly I think I still have it somewhere rofl). I mean just look as these images and sounds!

Win 10 is... odd. I can see what they have tried to do its just a bit...odd.Wow that was a blast from the PAST!
That is about the only thing i like about Win 10.. the linux integration
I also must say that power shell is AWESOME. Took awhile to get the hang of some of the more in depth commands,, but it rocks

Yeah it can do a lot... the more complex things I lookup, as evenif I modify some of them, it breaks the scrips (like making array variables to write to files and such). But other things are so useful.Wow that was a blast from the PAST!

Those were fun too :DI had that atari it came with ping and tanks and planes too iirc. I got other games like river raid too.
What I don't get is it appears to have two control panels. The fancy win10 one and the Win 7 one is still there too.Win !0 sucks. IMHO. To many calls about it breaking this and that after an update. They rolled out a pile of shit and let it do what it wants to. Not like any one can EASILY disable auto updates either
Pro's better for updates at least.Win !0 sucks. IMHO. To many calls about it breaking this and that after an update. They rolled out a pile of shit and let it do what it wants to. Not like any one can EASILY disable auto updates either

A lot of my use is when doing exchange server things, or sometimes something I want more control over without monitoring.Writing scripts to pull info from a server, updating information etc etc was something i use to do for a company i worked for. I really should get back into playing around with PS again. Seems a valued skill
LOL it depends on the lay out of your control panels
Pro's better for updates at least.
One thing I"ve noticed, even for pro. I had the ubuntu installed, it did an update, it uninstalled it, disabled the linux susbystem, altered the system to only allow windows store program installs only (which broke visual studio from running programs at times when debugging them), and disabled remote desktop for being able to connect to other PCs even....
On PRO... aka Business... like WTF?
Took under 5 min to fix, doesn't affect like any users, so yeah, it's not like a big deal in a sense, but it is a big deal when updates undo your settings. Updates aren't updates, they're basically a fresh install, just saving your program install and files.
Oh I just mean pro lets you postpone updates, whereas home doesn't. I come home 'restart needed!', I'm at work 'there are needed updates' and I can chooseWorse for updates as the updates always seem to break something in the OS or devices.
You have mentioned exactly what i am referring to LOL
Granted it is a stable OS, til you update it LOL

Like I have a script that I can be like "find me X on these servers" I leave it running, and I get a CSV of everywhere it exists on all the servers.
Or like I can find out which IP belongs to which user, kinda (based on user profiles existing, as most don't login to multiples), and it tells me which computers they've logged into.

Yeah, whenever I'm on the exchange server it's because someone's like "I didn't get a mail!" and I'm like "well, it said you got the mail" and they're like "what says?" and I tell them "The exchange server, it was delivered to you at X"Do be honest i hate exchange server.
It is useful for creating scripts to run at certain times also and export to CSV. Also backing up a DB or backing up certain information in the database, for reporting purposes.
Very true about pulling users logged in and the IP addresses
Not sure... I don't have pro at home, and my place got it after the fact. I actually update mine, and take updates early if I can, just so I know if it's going to screw people. That wasn't something that originally came out it pro.. if i'm not mistaken. I do remember the setting to not "Fuck up my system" during business hours LOL
Mainly as users have this weird tendency of deleting mail without realizing it, putting something tom say Tom, in a folder, within a folder called "bills from Mary" in their archive folder. I swear IT goes much smoother if people aren't involved.

AMEN TO THAT!
I'm not sure if you also do remote assistance for customers. But it drives me nutz when i'm trying to do something and they take over and start clicking random things.
I'm just going by what i remember when Win 10 first came out and you had no control over the updates. I'm pretty sure it was Pro because the businesses couldn't run home and function they way they wanted.
Some jobs have it locked down so Win 10 updates aren't allowed unless it has been tested by IT and proven not to affect them. I'm not sure of your companies policies though
Only our... terminals, or other companies that are so tied to us that shy of what email they use, everything else is on our end... get remote things. Even when someone connects to me, I'll at least give a heads up of "hold a second, I'll show you" and click or do it lol. Fortunately they don't move the mouse though unless I tell them to lol.
We have an outside place that's wanting to be our security people for updates, and push out updates to the pcs instantly as they come out, they say it 'can' be delayed, but still... their default position is to install everything instantly.
Our current person just does our servers, but he makes sure they are safe first...
They're all like "keep current so you don't get hacked!". and I"m like.... ok look, if we have a software firewall, hardware firewall, antivirus running. And the servers don't have access internally to out for the web for downloading, the odds of someone doing something within a few weeks of waiting is not that likely.Well you are damn lucky with people listening to you then. When poking around in a customers DB i PRAYED they would not touch the keyboard or mouse to try and help me.
I'm not sure if "safety" and not breaking drivers for peripheral devices are they same.
Welcome aboard, Squiddy! My first time posting on this thread. Hi :)
