Sorry I disagree a lot with this statement.

Just because she committed suicide (in a short time) she is no hero.

I am very oppossed to that notion.
I have mixed feelings about this, but I undertand why she would be called a hero- because she decided that she had a right to end her pain despite the system saying that she did not have that right- and because takng the steps to end one's suffering are generally terrifying, but she faced it so that her pain could stop. I still have a strong belief that the younger a person is the more chances they might have, especially for those under thirty- but does the system give financial assistance, significant social assistance, or other significant help? Typically not.

I generally agree except that they typically don't have bad intentions, so they are not true sadists- they are just very ignorant about how painful this situation is and so by imposing their will the effect is cruel.

I think their intentions are bad. It may not be in an overt laughing at us while jerking off sort of way, but it's still bad even if subconsciously.

Most of their reasoning in general is 'I'm right' or 'I was strong enough to get through this therefore you can'.

Stuff like this is there core of their ideology even if it's not outright said and dressed up differently'

They generally downplay peoples situations and have no real empathy or compassion to listen they just override it with a generic one size fits all outlook.

Put it this way I've never met a pro lifer who listens to someone's reasoning and genuinely accepts that someone has valid reasons for wanting to die and should get peace.

They just want people to fight on against impossible odds even if the dye is cast. So yeah that's my rant over but I think the people who genuine and have pro life position out of love and care is <1%.

so that she can be a healthy vegetable
Could you imagine being her thinking you just made it out of here, only to be sucked back in and the first thing you see when you open your eyes is a "Karen" type of nurse standing over you saying, "You should be grateful, it took a lot to save your life". When EMTs, nurses and medical staff revive a person who wanted to die, I don't look at them as heroes but instead they are tyrants. Evil things that are so full of themselves to think they know better than the person who wanted to die.
"You never know what's around the corner in your future" And NEITHER DO YOU. If you can't guarantee me the happiest existence ever created, then you don't get a say in whether I stay or go. I'm so sick of these, "Heroes" in scrubs and lab coats.

How is she a hero?
You're both taking this too seriously. I meant it in a tongue in cheek way.

She did something brave that very many in her situation wanted to do but would've wanted to do a lot more "ideally" but she did it and in doing so gave a giant fuck you to people forcing her life.

I can see why someone would say it- the whole system tried to tell her she couldn't stop her pain and she beat them- she said it's my right to stop my pain. So I can see why someone would say that.

Those who want to kill themselves will always find a way to do it and go all the way regardless of the circumstance
This is true. That determination factor isn't talked about very much. Ironically it's like something you want in life. You have to TRY really hard to succeed at it rather than just thinking really hard that you want it.

Wow. I don't know if I'm wrong in saying this here, but I'm glad she's free.

I've been to (*counts on fingers*) 7? different hospitals in 4 different states, all within the past few years. None of them had doorknobs. In all of them, standard was 15 minute checks, but in some I was placed on a sort of constant observation.

I've attempted twice while in hospitals. The most recent was by VSED, which failed when I was involuntarily given IV fluids. The first, last summer, was an attempted hanging. As previously mentioned, there were no doorknobs, but I attempted to string myself up by the door to my bathroom. Unluckily for me, there were goddamned pressure sensors on the doors. So that was a quick ticket to 4-point restraints.

? Man 5 minutes? I guess I won't doubt Epstein's suicide again
How do we know the attendants are telling the truth? Maybe they were fucking off and when they found her decided to pretend they checked every five minutes.😮

Call me an ASS, but all I can think is "HAHA YOU FUCK FACES."

Forcing people to live is absolutely cruel.

Mental health is a joke.

It's unfortunate she suffered so much prior to her departure.

Revenge death. Fuck you guys and your little kissass games.

"Oh sweetiiiipiiiiieeeee take a pill things will get better boohooooooo." What a crock of shit.

Find it hard to believe this happened in a 5min window. Can't rule it out but honestly, as someone who tried partial very enthusiastically I just don't see how it would be possible. Theu'd have to be on it as the guard was walking away form the first check. Even if they were they'd have to set up and execute so quickly and even then, there is the time it takes to go out and go through the process. Flailing/flapping, gasping and of course passing. It takes me longer than 5 mins to write it out or think it through.

I suspect they were a little lax on their checks and probably shit themselves so filled the check logs in as though they were carried out on time. I'm speculating of course and maybe I shouldn't. It just sounds sketchy to me.

This seems likely. I've seen staff be pretty irregular even with 15 minute checks. 5 minute checks is very demanding on the staff. They'd have to drop everything they're doing every five minutes exactly on the dot to make it work. If I was in that situation, I'd probably fudge it too.
