Is suicide due to lack of oxygen extremely painful? If it's just uncomfortable, that's fine. I have an idea to try using Night-Night (is that what it's called?) for example, but I think about being in an environment with limited oxygen, until there comes a time when the oxygen runs out. As if I were in a coffin under the earth.

your lungs react to the acidity levels of the air in your lungs rather than gas levels. anything that doesnt involve putting more co2 in your lungs wont trigger a reaction

Not if you replace it with an inert gas and prevent rebreathing of CO2.
