so why the fuck do you think I'm still incentivized or obligated to keep living.

if you know that I don't care to………
•find another job
•look for community in real life
•gain new exploitable skills
•participate in the wretched society I was unfortunately thrusted into

why do I still have to hear the bullshit suicide prevention talking points you probably read on the back of a box of fucking Wheat Thins.

ohhhhh because you know that you could possibly become like me one day when you are tired and worn out with life and that scares you so you have to bullshit me, in hopes of you not having to bullshit yourself.

yea no shit nothing changes if I don't change. that's why I want to die, because I see no point in changing shit I'm expected to stress over under the illusion of "free will" and " individual autonomy".
fuck out of my face please and thank you.

I get this and you have good writing skills. I also hate clichés. If you have no will to live then you can't possible change anything. Most people want to live at all costs and to very old age. I will never understand this. Is free will an illusion? I don't know. Another rabbit hole for me to explore.

thanks.🤠

I guess these folks never taken to account that it doesn't take that much effort to "live" in the physical sense, but to "live a life" takes way too much effort that not everyone cares to put anymore.
Normies try way too hard to convince people like us that life is simple, but then in the same breath hound us about all the bullshit we have to obtain, and maintain, and experience, and lose, and gain and yadda yadda fucking yadda. It's annoying.

Im 57, so I already "lived a life" I wanted and it did take a lot of effort but I had the drive and motivation to do so back then. I just don't anymore. The biggest BS I hear is "Getting older is a privilege"! Umm no it's not, it is a fucking curse. Your body and mind start to break down as you become ravaged by disease, even if you take the best care of yourself. No one escapes this unless they die young enough. And if you happen to live long enough to be the last one standing..well congratulations everyone you have ever known or loved is dead. How does that feel?

Reminds me of an interview Cher did where she basically said the same thing lol.

Getting old definitely sucks and unless there are grandkids being attended to….there is really no reason to live out your body horribly decaying in real time like that.

Plus the older you are the more vulnerable you become….basically become a baby again lmaoooo.

I never wanted to bring children into this insufferable existence, so no grandchildren. I love my pets though, more than humans. You are correct in that if you live long enough, your life comes back full circle where you have to rely on care takers to feed you, bathe you and change your diapers. No fucking way, I'm out. I would love to see that Cher interview, if you happen to know where I might find it.

I think there's also the added cruelty that someone who may be suffering with depression or- elements of it- anhedonia, lethargy etc. likely won't have the mental or physical strength/ determination to plough in to changing their life.

It's like that ghastly phrase: 'Things will get better.' In my experience- things only got better in my life when I put in the effort to make them better. And- even then, the result- even if it was good- didn't last long and, it wasn't necessarily worth the massive effort and sacrifice to get it. So- experience tends to suggest to me- that it wasn't even worth it- so- why should I try that hard again?

It can also encompass people having to face their worst fears 'for the greater good.' I think it should be considered why a person is struggling. Why are they a shut in for example? If part of the issue is fear- say- social anxiety- they will have to encounter those fears to do anything pretty much- work, socialise, live.

So- there's the possibility that- in order to (possibly) make things better- things may feel even worse for that person- at least initially- while they 'work through' those fears and- hopefully overcome them. Of course- they may not. They may still feel uncomfortable putting themselves in those situations. And- once again- this is being asked of someone who is likely struggling and could be deliberately hiding from the world to begin with.

I also agree with you- the 'prize' or goal needs to feel worth our effort. Otherwise, what creates that motivation to begin with? Obligation can to some extent. Pressure to comply from our parents/ family/ society. But then- that generates resentment (in my experience.)

We may find it easier to comply- rather than listen to another lecture or bear other people's disappointment in us. But then- that won't make us want to stay living here either. We may just end up hating work and, hating our parents/ families for pressuring us to work.
