+1!

Pepple always lament that it's easy to die by accident and hard to die when ctb. Well, Murphy's law in action.

When we suicide we do mind if things go wrong so of course it will be harder to die 'properly', and freak accidents are monsters of probability, all in accordance with Murphy's. It does suck.

I don't think it is, but thinking makes it so, to quote Shakespeare. I think it's the imagination which increases the fear, as most things we feared, looking back, never actually happened. Rather than dwelling on the unsuccessful attempts it's easier to focus on the successful attempts, and learn from them. I'd say that more accidents end in states worse than death than thoroughly planned suicide attempts do anyway. Hanging is the most common and successful method worldwide, and has been for centuries.
