is suicide via gun the only way to win against SI?

I'd imagine the gun method wouldn't completely prevent SI. Although squeezing a trigger is probably a bit easier then feeling yourself choke. I definitely wouldn't recommend getting drunk or high with a gun to avoid SI though. If you mess up and end up with brain damage thats way worse off.
SI, when it comes to actually taking the plunge will be their, just as it is with any other method, except at the point of execution of your CTB, unlike other methods there is no going back, so in that sense yeah, their is less, Post execution of course. as you can't go to a hospital, to get your stomach pumped or be resuscitated, with your brain stem halfway across the room.
