The reason why l focused on Brown specifically is because the bloke has mad literally *millions of pounds* from being a racist comedian for decades, his dvds still sell, a venue deciding not to host this man is not an example of our free speech being under threat, nor is it an example of people being made to suffer for expressing their opinion.

Still the point remains that people can say what they like, however they will be assessed on it and when it's controversial will perhaps need to defend it when other people respond to it. This actually *is* free speech, public figures stand on their platform and the public responds to their output.

Freedom of expression isn't worth much. The vast majority of people simply don't have valuable enough things to contribute to make it worthwhile to allow mass opining. That's not to say it should be stripped away for no reason but if the government became more authoritarian and did just that it would not be a loss.
