Maybe they are not a monolithic bloc. I could imagine there is law enforcement, suicide researchers, maybe intelligence services certain groups maybe complemented by therapists. There are probably also anti-suicide activists who are reading this forum but they are no authorities.
I wonder whether they judge us morally for being on here. Whether there are some innocent people on here, some people in a grey area and some very evil people on here in their eyes.
I wonder whether they are looking for people who sell suicide equipment.
I could imagine they concentrate on suicide discussions.
I wonder whether they are personally angry on the people on here or whether they have some degree of understanding. I could imagine the personal thoughts of these individuals may vary from the attitude they have to show at work. I could imagine they need a certain professional distance when browsing this forum. But honestly I think if I wasn't in so much pain browsing this forum would make feel worse. I could imagine being healthy and browsing SaSu excessively as your job could contribute to depression and could have the same impact as hardcore doomscrolling. Personally, I have to say I notice no negative impact from doomscrolling when it comes to news stories. In some ways I feel less alone in my own skin reading tragic stories. I mean maybe these people really hate us and they just have to read more and more cries of pain of members on here. Maybe these people have some form of coping reading the posts on here. "We are the good ones in contrast to these people." It is our duty to monitor and look behind them. I have the feeling though maybe they feel sort of powerless. Also the journalists who published so many stories about this place. I wonder whether the Youtubers who post about this place actually follow which impact their videos had on the website. I am not sure whether the end goal really is to shut down this place. Or whether the goal is only to protect the own population from accessing this site. I think when it comes to preventing the own population to know about this place the German government/news outlets do a better job than the British or US government/media outlets. I am not sure whether the end goal really is to make suicide impossible. I mean in liberal societies suicide should not be completely impossible to mature individuals. Maybe they would be willed to admit that.
There should be deterrence which often turns out as pretty cruel and cynical considerations when we look at the specific measures. I mean what is the goal of them? Should we vanish instead? Where should we be able to express these thoughts or do we have to hide it basically in front of everyone? Maybe they will say therapy but honestly in my experience therapists don't do a good job when dealing with very hard cases. I sometimes have the feeling the measures taken should make us feel ashamed for these thoughts and we have to live in the shadows talking with literally no one about our desperation. Because on places like Facebook, Instagram or X there happens bullying of people who admit suicidality.
