Is "meta world" a trademark? Not sure. Damn it is called metaverse.
Recently I spent more time with friends. In real life and over our chats with a lot of voice messages. And for me that's different to my SaSu experience. Reasons might be I really know these people, I know how they look like, we are friends over a decade, and I know it is very unlikely that they will disappear one day and I never found out what happened to them.
I am very sensitive to stimulation. And I tend to paranoia. I was also paranoid about the girlfriend of a close friend of mine. I thought she hated me, considered me a bad impact on him. But this was a delusion.
On SaSu I also tend to be paranoid. But I don't come close to anyone on here. And I think my paranoia protected me from bad experiences on here. It might prevented good experiences but I think the risk overweigh. I have a hard time to cope with someone's suicide even if I was somewhat close to that person. How bad must this be to my friends when they have to deal with my suicide.
I think there are people on here that make close friends or someone I knew even found a significant other on here. I think they even married.
I think I will never meet someone from here in real life. And gladly this forum isn#t that well known in my country.
To come to the question of the title. I compared my real life experiences with friends and the social interactions I make on here. And they are quite different. But with solace, community and comfort they share a purpose.
There is one Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex episode where the producers imagined the future of chatbots on the internet. In some ways it is similar to the meta world idea. I know some people are annoyed by this episode and the depiction of the internet. I don't mind it.
Nowadays we have online calls often with videos. But there are people who wanted to become very rich with virtual reality. And nowadays no one talks about it. And all you can hear about is AI, AI agents, AGI, data centers etc.
I wonder what projects of billionaires will contribute to. Eugenic ideas become popular again. And it seemsl ike it is a matter of time when boundaries will be crossed. Or quantum computing might be the next big thing. I wonder whether uploading of one's consciousness will be possible some day.
But in order to come closer to the title. How would you imagine a Sanctioned Suicide VR World. I think I would not like it. I think it is healthy to keep emotional distance to people on here. But I imagine it crazy if I could see what other peoplee gaze at in real life. If we could switch perspectives. It might would also show me that other people have it worse. On the other hand I could be overwhelmed by all the suffering.
Moreover, it could also be boring just to switch gazes. Many people on here are chronically online. So we would just switch the screens of our computers. A different thing would be trade one's consciousness or accompany someone through the day. But what would I expect. Theoretically I could also look for VLOGS of suicidal people. But why would they be interesting?
The VR World would be full immersion and honestly I think this be not be good on here. But there are features like our avatars and our nicknames that can make us live in a different reality on here. But it always good to seperate the online world from the reality you live in. Though, I can very well relate to escapism when life becomes unbearable. Sometimes the online world feels like the only refuge of our torment.
