It sucks about not being able to come alone there, and this seems to be a new policy, because I checked their website maybe a month ago, and it used to say, that yes they do want you to come with someone, but if that was really not possible , then they could arrange for someone to be for a while your ..I can't remember the exact word they used "companion" or "guardian" or something like that, and it was enough to be able to identify you afterwards. I don't know why they changed that.
Perhaps if one is able to come beforehand for a while and meet them, that should work ? I know there is no way I can bring someone of my family there, or even friends.
That said, I contacted them as well a few weeks ago , with the intention of maybe using their services later. I think the reason why their hands are tied a bit is that not all of their decisions are from their side only, they have to submit the case to some form of Swiss authorities which may or may not give their greenlight. That's why they "scan" beforehand the cases that they think have real chances of being Ok'ed. Also, age does play in account. If you're over 50, they will be more inclined to take on your case even if you don't have any real life threatening condition. 50 seems to be a pivot age , as EXit won't even sell you their membership if you're under that. The older you are over 50, the more likely you will be accepted.
I personally like the idea of doing this in a "controlled" environment. I find it less risky and less anxiety-provoking. In some time from now I should be admissible in their criterias, I can pay for it, but the whole "you can't come alone" business worries me...
