Why is everyone so obsessed with finding their sweet spot. Can I not just put a rope around my neck and let my body weight do the rest. It's gonna hurt, you're dying. It's not gonna be painless. So whats the deal with the sweet spots???

I agree, ecpsecially with full suspension. As long as the rope don't break and your anchor is solid you will die.

Personally it's alot easier to go through with if I know that my pain will be to a minimum and I will black out as fast a possible.

The idea is that you contrive to compress the carotid arteries and as a result become unconscious, but without choking off the trachea which (apparently) requires considerably more force. So you black out rather than struggling to breath. Then you either fall further and inflict sufficient pressure to compress the trachea, or at least maintain sufficient pressure to keep the arteries blocked. Either way, you die from anoxia.

That's the idea, and it seems attractive (a comparative term) if it works.

One of the problems that people encounter is finding the right spots to compress the carotid arteries. If they don't need as much pressure to compress as does the trachea, they do need more than the jugular veins, which are in the same area. It seems that many people (myself included) hit the jugulars (which drain the head) and if they are compressed then there is a build up of pressure and congestion of blood which gives rise to the frequently reported "exploding head" sensation.

From what I read, the carotid arteries lie deeper in the neck than the jugular veins, and so a thinner ligature is indicated, which will more easily sink in to the flesh of the neck - bad news for those who wish to pad the ligature for comfort.

So do I need to just try and get past the exploding head feeling.
And how long after getting that feeling will it take to black out?

And why is it that sometimes I can feel my carotid artery's and other times I can't

I don't know. Wait a while, and you will get answers from lots of people who pretend that they do.

From where you can obtain propofol? Are you physician?
If so you don't need to resort to hanging.

I know a dude who's selling almost everything, what he doesn't have, he can get. Depends on money. But if I'm right, Propofol is usually listed. I trust him, he owns a Professional packaging machine with which he packed me some stuff for my holidays in australia. 0 Probelms with customs , and the australian border patrol is tough

I can't even tie a fucking slip knot and don't see how using a necktie and door is possible. anyone else struggles with the damn knot? I've watched 3 different YouTube videos a dozen times and I still can't get it

can someone share what resources you used to learn?

I had some trouble with this too at first, and it seems like it would be especially difficult to do it for the first time with a necktie.

I used this guy's vid to learn, there are multiple vids out there that tell you to do different things but I liked this one because it seemed relatively simple and made a knot that tightened good. The most important thing is that you get the pretzel shape which should show up no matter what you're tying with. Just watch the video and try to retrace what he does with whatever material you're using.

I still don't know what rope to use. Looking for rope that is easily obtainable or bought in the UK. Looking on recent threads, I can use cloth -like rope i.e ties for partial but if I want to try full, Idk. I don't fully trust partial hanging method.

I have bought mine in one of those big stores where you can find all kind of supplies for home/garden/small constructions... They have reels and you can ask for the meters you want. I am sure there are many stores like this in the UK. Also, maybe in a big sports store.

I'm thinking of doing partial but I'm so unsure about everything and scared that I'm going to to fuck this up. Do you think 12mm hemp rope is good? I weight about 41kg/90lbs. And how should I position the knot, should it be right at the back of my neck or little bit to the left or right?

are slipknots supposed to be so flimsy? after practicing with nooses for so long, this feels downright wrong. i think the method i'm using isn't tight enough. also, i think i've pretty much ruled out door hanging entirely. my doorknob is lever-shaped which feels very awkward to work with. i think i'll research more and try again later, as much as i hate the idea of doing partial.

i get really tight slipknots. you can pull the slipknot-side end and also pull the opposite direction from the end that is adjustable (instead of making the noose bigger, try making it smaller but without touching anything but the slipknot-tailend and obv the adjustable end)

Where do you guys plan on doing it? I'm pretty undecided between a tree in some near by woods I could go at night and not be found till at least the morning. (I've checked it out quite a few times). Or doing it at home.
Genuinely considering going to the suicide forest in Japan.

I have a rope over my door but the rope is way to long. What would be the best solution to this?

I just attempted with partial suspension and I got a serious headache while attempting and felt like my head was going to explode until I stopped. Anyone else experience this? Is it normal?

Hmm I feel like I keep answering the same questions about hanging all across this site.

The slip knots I tie are tight, but you could use a carabiner if you prefer. Its easily and will get plenty tight that way.

And please don't use a door handle... use one of these instead:

Amazon product ASIN B00K2323LE
It will hold you in any door just fine, as long as it's not a sliding door. Much better than a door handle and very inexpensive.

Simple knot may work, but I would use a figure 8 knot personally. It's one of the go to knots in rock climbing.

what's that thing called? a door anchor? i'm trying to google it in my language but nothing comes up. it's not the same thing as a resistance band, is it? not really sure i can find it around my area, anyway. in fact i'm not entirely sure i want to do a partial hanging at all since i'd have to do it in my house which sucks.

Hey,
I'm planning to hang myself tomorrow, I have a rack where the height of the bar can change, would I be better off doing lower partial hanging or hanging higher (my feet would still be on the floor)

Unfortunately I only have a silk tie, no rope.
Will this still work?

I've tried previously but just had a major headache and struggled to breathe but it was painful, almost like I was bing strangled, I had red lines around my neck for a day.
Only managed to get it right once but backed out as it was a test and thought oh that's easy,it will be no problem next time, how wrong was I.

I'm very set in doing it tomorrow so any advice would be great.

I tried previously with pills, I ended up in a coma and nearly died but didn't unfortunately.

I apologize for my English, I use an online translator. This method does NOT WORK, I tried to hang myself with many different positions, at different heights, secured the rope at different places of the neck, and tried with a rope and a belt.I don't care about self-preservation., I really wanted to die, but there was no loss of consciousness.
I'm so angry and upset. However, I do not advise anyone full suspension, this is the most terrible way. I think that now remains the only option with a train for me.

Wait, you've tried full suspension multiple times and failed? Could you explain more?
Did you fail because you stopped yourself? The rope broke? What

No, I'm against a full suspension.

This method definitely works. Hanging is the most common method of suicide worldwide and it's very common for feet to be in contact with the ground. You're doing something wrong... maybe not putting your weight in fast enough?

No, I tried to push with a jerk.

Because it will be a minute of hellish torment, watch Minovichi's experiments on his self-hanging, he didn't lose consciousness in a few seconds, he remained conscious until his partner didn't pull out him after 30 seconds.
